"Did it work? Did it work?"
Murmured voices filled my head. I felt limp. Asleep. But I was definitely not asleep. Trying to open my eyes was like trying to lift up a bear for me, but I managed to open one eye to see what they were talking about.
I was in some sort of lab, filled with the faint smells of gasses and sweat. Five figures were huddled around something, it looked like a table. A strange blue glow came from it, heating the air around it. I managed to barely turn my head to see that what looked like clones of me laid down, asleep. Kyogres?
Wait, how do I know that word? I thought to myself. Weird.
I slowly turned back to the scientists again. They continued to talk.
"I- I can't believe my eyes!" One of them yelped.
"You say that about everything." Another one snapped.
"Neville! Penny! Quit your bickering!" A third one yelled.
Neville and Penny both looked at the white, metal floor.
"Neville, your in charge of teaching one of the Kyogres." The third one said again, "Penny, you can choose which one and assist him."
"But, Professor Andrew! Put Neville in charge? Why not me! Why do I have to assist Neville of all people?!" Penny cried.
"Just trust me, Penny." Andrew assured, "Now, choose a Kyogre."
I slammed both of my eyelids shut as tight as I could, and just hoped that they didn't see me.
"That one." I heard Penny's voice announce. Footsteps filled my ears. Something grabbed my tail. They chose me?! Uh-oh. Something tight latched onto in, like a string. I opened my eyes and tried not to wail. I saw Andrew, Neville, and Penny watching at the table while the other two were with me. Looking down in pain to see what was tied to my tail, I felt a sudden surge of power fill my body. A glowing aura of light surrounded me, encasing me away from those scientists. I felt my body change, sprouting flames growing larger. It was painfully good. It finally stopped as the light around me disappeared. They stared at me in awe.
Looking down, I saw what I've become; A larger, yellow glowing, form.
"Primal Kyogre…" I heard Neville exclaim.
Andrew and Penny smirked.
"Look at that. Neville, you want to name him?" Andrew offered.
"Kaiorga." Neville smiled. "'Kyogre' in Japanese."
I looked around again and saw regular Kyogres. I counted six. Seven, Including me, but I guess now I'm a… um, Primal Kyogre.
Walking towards me and kneeling down, Neville smiled. "Hello, Kai." He said.
"H-Hi." I suspiciously replied, looking down at the strange feather on my tail. "What's this?" I asked, batting it with my paw.
"It's a Primal Stone- Er, feather." He explained, "It makes Kyogres- and a few other things, change forms and get stronger. It's called Mega Evolution." He told me.
"Will it work again?" I asked.
"Yes." He answered.
"Anyways, lets get to training." He smiled, getting up.
"Tr-Traing?" I asked, "What's that?" Neville smiled and opened his mouth, but he didn't get a chance to speak.
"Neville, I'm going home. I'll meet you here tomorrow." Penny called.
"Okay. Where's Professor Andrew, Moose, and Ollie?" He asked.
"Gone. See ya." She said, opening the exit door and disappearing.
Rolling his eyes, Neville sat up and told me to follow him. We walked away from the sleeping Kyogres and chemistry table and into a room, filled with stones, boxes labeled "X-Attack" to "X-Defense," O-powers, berries, CDs labeled "HMs" or "TMs," Things called "Pokèballs" and a bunch of dummies scorched with flames, vine whips, lightning strikes, and a whole lot more.
"Woah…" I gasped, trailing off.
Neville smiled, walking behind me. "Face that chick-like thing, the Torchic." He explained. I faced the very realistic looking dummy.
"Quick Attack!" He commanded. A sudden pulse surged through me, making me jump up and dash towards the dummy. I slammed into it and it made a wailing sound.
"Be prepared for a Bite!" He warned me. Teeth sharp, the chick hurdled towards me, and I jumped up, avoiding the small figure and seeing it fade slightly. Holograms.
"Finish him off with a Hydro Pump!" Neville commanded. Without even thinking, I spit out a swirling watery catastrophe. The Torchic wailed again, and then fell to the ground.
"Nice job!" Neville smiled, "It's getting late. Rest for the night." He told me, holding out a ball with a red top and white bottom. He pressed a button on it, and a teal-white, ragged beam came out and hit me, dragging me inside the ball.
I found myself in a pure white place, with one dark door. I pushed it and found I could get out easily. But not tonight, I told myself, drifting off into a deep sleep.

"Eep!" I yelled, falling from what seemed like a ten story building onto the floor.
"Morning, Kai." Neville smiled, "You're in for a pleasant surprise today! Meet my assistant trainer and friend, Penny!" He said, turning his head towards the other scientist from yesterday, the girl one.
"Hey, Kaiorga." She said, examining her nails.
"And she brought a surprise with her!" Neville exclaimed, gently elbowing her.
"Oh, yeah," she said, reaching into her bag and elbowing Neville back.
"Ouch!" He murmured, grabbing his arm.
Penny pulled out a orange colored CD and gave it to me. "TM55, Scald," she explained, handing me the disc.
"Thanks!" I said, looking down at it.
"One more thing," she said, stopping me from poking the CD and handing me a small box with a few berries in it, "Chesto Berries. Can cure sleep." She told me.
I smiled, "Cool! Thanks!" I said, putting the box on the table next to my Pokèball.
"Let's teach him Scald." Neville suggested.
"I was gonna say we break it." Penny sarcastically replied.

"Scald! Nice!" Neville smiled.
The "Ninetails" I was facing fell to the ground, murmuring and growling.
"I feel the difference! Level 35!" I growled, putting my paw up into the air.
"Ee-yak!" I heard a faint grumbling voice.
I turned around, but Neville stepped in front of me.
"What was that?" I asked, moving my head to more clearly see who's voice it was.
Neville screeched and shouted, "Leafeon!" I turned around and got ready for action.
"You're on your own!" Neville said, backing away. I narrowed my eyes.
"You first." I told the Leafeon.
It was a long tiring battle, my fire attacks doing almost nothing. I was finally able to use some normal type moves to damage her and win.
"Interesting. You're strong, Kai!" Neville praised me.
"Thanks. Will you tell me now what that glowing light and shriek was?" I asked him.
"Later. Good night." He said, holding up a Pokèball different from the one last night. It was blue with a white bottom, with red curves on top. A beam shot out again and pulled me inside.
The moment I was inside the (this time bluish) white, endless world, I rushed to the door. I couldn't push open the door as easy this time. When I was about to lay down, I heard voices. Neville and Penny, of course. Wondering if they were talking about why Penny mysteriously disappeared today, I leaned in close.
"How are the others doing?"
"Not as good as Kaiorga."
"Well, duh."
"How many are Primal Kyogres?"
What? How many are Primals? But- I want to be the only Primal Kyogre! I started to fall asleep again, but quickly remembered the Chesto Berries, popping one into my mouth. Their voices cleared up again.
"Four of the six."
"Good."
"Any luck making more Primal Feathers?"
"We could only make Kai's."
"Tomorrow we evolve the other two."
"Deal."
The voices stopped, and with that, I fell back to sleep.

I woke up the next day, and everything went pretty much the same as the past two days. Penny gave me a new TM, Giga Impact, I learned it, went straight to training, and Penny "disappeared."

"Neville, I'm sick of all these lies! Please tell me what's behind those doors!" I pleaded.
"After this one battle, Kaiorga." He assured.
"Promise?"
"Promise!"
"Who am I facing?" I asked eagerly.
"Zapdos!" He smirked.
"Who's- AHH!" I yelped, staring up at the yellow thundery bird.
The battle lasted what seemed like hours, the legendary bird almost immune to everything. I finally fell and trembled to the ground in fear. Darkness was all that I saw.

"You okay?" I heard a voice. Neville.
"I'm fine, I'm fine..." I sighed.
"You sure? Look at that scratch!."
I shrieked, "What?"
Neville stroked my back, "Its okay, you'll be okay." He told the shocked me.
"Tell me..." I asked, almost asleep.
"Hmm?" He asked.
"What happened to the other Kyogres. I heard you last night." I told him.
Sighing, Neville started to explain; "Its time we tell you. Listen, as you know, we were able to create seven Kyogres. We realized that you were all to weak to be used, so we decided to Mega Evolve you. You were our chosen. We Mega Evolved you and started to train you, as you know. We're using your feather, the Primal Feather, to help Mega Evolve the others."
"Can I meet them?" I asked anxiously.
"Tomorrow." He told me. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"You always say that. And lie."
He sighed, "One more thing,"
"What?"
"Only one of you survive. The others are destroyed. Good night." He held up a once again different ball, a white bottom and gray top with a yellow "H" on top.
"Wait?! WHAT-!?" A beam came out and dragged me, once again, into a semi-gray world.
I touched the door, and could barely open it.
"Oh no..." I sighed.

"Wake up." Came a voice. Professor Andrew. Haven't seen him in a while.
Exiting my ball, I looked up to see not only the usual Penny and Neville, but Andrew, Moose, and Ollie.
"Hello, ready for your assessment, Kaiorga?" Moose asked.
"Why are they here?" I hissed to Neville and Penny. They looked at me as if to say, "Shhh!!!"
"Sorry!" I whispered.
"We've all ready scored the others, Tital; 8.5, Aquarius; 9, Neptune; 7, Stormer; 7.5, Puddles; 8, and Poseidon; 8." Andrew said, "You'll each be battling a legendary based off those scores..." He paused, "You have an 9.5."
I nodded.
"Flamer faces Zapdos, Scorch faces Swecon, Smokey faces Kyrem, Ember faces Jirachi, Char faces Dialga, Ra faces Terrakian." Moose continued, "and you," he paused, "Face Groudon."
"Groudon?" I asked Neville, "Who's he?"
Neville sighed, "You'll see."

"First place is Flamer, second place is Ra, third is Scorch." Neville announced to me. We were in the back room preparing for my fight. "I'm rooting for you." He told me.
"So tell me, who, exactly, is Groudon?" I asked.
"One of the three legendary beasts that I told you about. Red 'dinosaur,' silver claws, black markings?" He answered.
"No, as in type, attacks, all that?" I rolled my eyes.
"Oh. Well, he's a ground type, Drought ability, 670 base stat, most strong at attack, and does know a wide range of ground and fire moves." He answered again.
"Uh-oh." I said, "Groudon type? Attack? Ugh…" I said, burying my face into my paws.
"You'll be fine," He assured me, "take these." He said, handing me three little rectangular orange boxes.
"Hyper Potions." He explained, "They heal all your health. Use wisely." He winked.
"Kai, are you ready?" Ollie said, walking into the room, "We have the 'bot ready, Nev." He said, turning to Neville.
"Good." He turned back to me. "I'm betting on you." he told me.
I looked up. "Who else would you want?" I asked with a grin.
"Haha." he smiled, "Good luck."
And with that, I saw my first glance of my rival.
Strong I thought. But not as strong as me!
And with that, I sprung towards him.
The fight was tough and left us both almost breathless. I can admit he was a little bit more stronger then me, his ground attacks easily extinguishing my power. But luckily, his most powerful attack didn't effect me, it was fire type. The fight went on for what seemed like hours, and I would've been out if it wasn't for my Hyper Potions. Finlay, this endless fight came to an end.
I needed a finishing attack, and the only thing that came to my head was: Giga Impact!
BAM!!!
As the dust cloud from the attack cleared up, it revealed the giant beast on the ground. I was the victor! The audience- Neville, Penny, Andrew, Moose, and Ollie, all slowly clapped. I bowed, "Thank you!"
"The final score is;" Andrew paused and a puzzled, amazed look spread across his face, "A perfect ten! Kai wins!" They all cheered!
"What now?" Neville asked.
"Well, we conduct more experiments on her! They probably will take away his life in a bit, but still, we can use the other ones from the vault of the other useless Pokemon once she's gone!" Moose explained.
"What?!" Me and Neville exclaimed at the same time.
"No, we can't do that to Kaiorga!" He cried.
"Sorry." Ollie shrugged.
Andrew patted his shoulder and smiled, "Its fine, he's just one fish in the-"
"NO!! NO!!!" I shouted, "NO!! PLEASE!!! DON'T- mph?! MPH! SOAHPIWYT! MRGGAF!" Andrew cupped my mouth. He turned to Ollie and Moose.
"Get the Masterball." He commanded. Moose and Ollie ran off and came back to a screaming me with a ball, this time with a white bottom and purple top, with two pink bumps and a white "M." They quickly pressed the button, letting out the beam, sucking me in.
The purple-white endless world seemed very unwelcoming this time. I screamed and pushed against the door. There was no way I could get out.
"Please!" I wailed, "Let me out..." I trailed off into a deep, terrible sleep.

"Kaiorga? Kai, wake up!" I heard a hushed, hissing voice.
"Neville?" I asked, blinking open one eye. We weren't in the lab, but rather outside, at the brim of the forest.
"Where are we?"
"I'm busting you out." He said.
"Huh?" I asked, rather puzzled.
"I can't have you die." He said, stroking my back.
"What about Penny?"
"She knows."
"Moose and Ollie?"
"Nope."
"Andrew?"
"Why would I tell him, of all people?"
"My siblings?"
"Penny's finding them better homes, and they'll all be safe by next week."
"Can I trust you?"
"You ask me?"
I smiled. "Lets go."

Me, Neville, and Penny all live happily together now. I can't stand looking back on my first week in the lab, and as far as I know, Moose, Ollie, and Andrew are gone. I no longer sleep in those dreaded balls, but still practice battling with Neville and Penny almost every day. My brothers, sisters, and other Pokemon, all have good homes and I wish the best to all of them. I, however, has truly become the
Very best. Like no one ever was.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
