I didn't remember much from back then. I was barely old enough to hunt for myself either.
My name is Sakiya, it was my first memory. Mother said to me that I would blossom like the beautiful flowers that drifted down from the branches above. But everything's different now. And I will show you why...
Sakiya pulled a stick from the pile, trying to avoid knocking off any of the others. She edged the tip of the stick away from the others, but as soon as she pulled it out the stack promptly fell over, scattering sticks everywhere. Urgh, Sakiya thought as she flopped down beside the gloomy pile of sticks. She eventually fell asleep, and wasn't aware of time passing, until as the first ominous smell reached her nose. Sitting bolt upright and looking around, she climbed to the canopy of the nearest tree and looked in all directions. Then she saw it. The bold orange flames licking at the angry sky, the cracking of fire as wood burned into ashes. A bolt of fear nearly made her fall from her branch as she thought quickly. Her parents were out somewhere in the woods gathering food, and she didn't know the lay of the land. Just as she braced herself to leave everything she knew, the tree she had been standing on earlier crashed to the ground, the wall of flames so near she could feel its heat. Somewhere, far away, she could hear a voice. "Run! Run and don't look back!" Terrified, Sakiya bolted in the other direction. "Keep running!" Then the voice was cut off, along with everything that she once knew.
"...and I plan to conquer them all."
