Username: Sayna Jaye
Equid's Name: Lacey, nicknamed Meri
Age: 4 years
Height: 13hh
Gender: Mare
Personality (based on which song?): The Mother We Share
Overall a cheerful extrovert, Lacey loves being a part of a large herd. Like a little ray of sunshine, she always brings a smile to those she spends time with, and makes a point to visit with everyone every day. She's still young, but feels that motherhood is her calling. She even treats her elders like foals sometimes, and they chase her off with pretend offense. She feels like a conduit for love, just wanting to make two more smiles for each one she gets. She can never be upset with anyone for long, especially if it's a foal giving her big watery eyes.
The only thing that gives her pause is night. Being such a busy body, the time when everything is still and dark feels uncomfortable to her. She feels isolated, even lying between so many warm bodies she knows just need time to recharge. She doesn't ever sleep much, and often keeps the night watch company, even taking over occasionally. Her thoughts wander to strange places during the night, like the time before the herd. It's not something she enjoys thinking about so she tries to amuse herself by song or dreaming of her future children. As soon as the sun rises, she's walking through the herd expectantly, waiting to find anyone with one eye open so she can start her day as the same cheery mare she loves to be.

What's her relationship with her parents and siblings like?:Her real mother figure was Hrvada. She found the little filly half-frozen in the mountain snow, and the sight chilled her own heart with fear. There were some in the herd who thought she wouldn't pull through, but Hrvada didn't sleep until the golden foal finally opened her eyes. The poor thing couldn't remember her name - too much time in the cold had left her memory hazy. Considering the hardship her tiny body had been put through, her chipper and fearless attitude towards the strange equids was endearing. Hrvada decided to call her Meri because of that, even though the herd had already taken to calling her Lacey because of her unusual spots. She was nursed right along with Hrvada's son, Alois, and the two became inseparable.
Since then everyone around her has embraced her into their mash-up of a family. Adamanteus and Roras are never afraid to give her fatherly advice, Aire and Laska are always doting on her, and Kizmet and Roperi like to tease as if they were her older brothers while the entire contingent of yearlings and foals follow her every hoofstep asking her to play. Sometimes she remembers that she's not actually related to the Sovereign herd by blood and is overwhelmed by the generosity they've shown her, and she counts her lucky stars at those times.
When those thoughts come though, she looks to the west and remembers that she has a different dam out there. When she tries to bring the memories forward, all she can recall are unfamiliar calls of a creature filled with panic and rage, and a shrieking voice telling her to run, to escape. She shivers and is filled with sadness, and hopes that one day she might work up the courage to look for her mother and return the favor.
[Note: I know that the appy-quids cannot breed, but Lacey doesn't know that she can't. I intend it to be part of her story.]
