I am currently the owner of one fairly spoiled little Kiamara, named Honani. I've tried out for only a few Kiamara so far, as I've been waiting for the right ones for me. So I am hoping to be able to call this perfect little guy by second <3
I've made a few edits on my original form to give the Kia some more personal elements to me, differing slightly from the original character. Though these differences should not interfere with the original character, it simply makes it easier for me to connect with him. It’s 5:51 PM. I’m in Wolf Trap, Virginia, and my name is Will Graham.
Name:
William Graham
Germanic -
"Will, desire + helmet, protection"
Nicknames:
Known by most as Will.
Gender:
He is a male.
Sexuality:
He is pansexual, though others don't seem particularly interested in him right now due to his instability.
Occupation:
He has a teaching post at the FBI Academy, although when out in the field, he has the title of "Special Investigator".Seeing the world through your eyes~
His process -
Will was born with a condition known as pure empathy, which means he can successfully assume the identity of any being that he would like to. Jack Crawford at the FBI uses Will's ability to get into the minds of serial killers, to re-enact the methods in his mind to lead them closer to catching them. On paper, he is very good at his job and is successful in catching these killers, however each time he uses his ability, a little bit of himself is lost to these murderers. They work their way into his head, eating him from the inside out until the fear he is channelling tears him apart. Emotionally speaking, Will is not a stable individual, and making him keep looking at killers the way he does is changing his own identity, forcing him to become someone other than himself.I don't know how to gauge who I am any more. I don't feel like myself. I feel like I have been gradually becoming different for a while. I just feel like somebody else. ... I feel crazy.Beneath the flesh~
Personality -
Due to his personality disorder of pure empathy, William is excluded by those that would consider themselves “normal”. He is treated as an outcast, and is the subject of great speculation amongst psychiatrists, doctors and even those he works with at the FBI. His instability is what enables him to do what he does, but at the same time it can make others doubt him. As he has been an outcast almost all of his life, he is nervous of normal interaction with others, sometimes to the point of paranoia. However at the same time, he doesn't like being on his own for fear of the hallucinations. He just isn't sure how to fit in with others in the way that seems almost instinctual to most. This is why he enjoys the company of Hannibal Lecter, and Alana Bloom. As psychiatrists they understand him better than most people can, and can read him a lot easier, making it much more relaxing an experience for him. He feels he can open up to them, but not to other people - emotionally and mentally. This is one of the reasons he surrounds himself with so many canine companions. Dogs keep a promise a person can’t. A lifetime of loyalty and friendship, as well as being very simple beings... Happy for the roof over their head, food in their belly and the attention of someone they love, no matter how others see them... Because others avoid him, he enjoys the company of the canines. He isn't very trusting of others, because he hasn't been given reason to trust them. He deals with murders on a daily basis, and those that committed them don't look any different from ordinary people. When comfortable, and around those he does feel comfortable with though, he can act fairly confident, and can be highly sarcastic. He isn't afraid to speak his mind, although does sometimes speak without thinking and will regret it afterwards. This is generally when he is angered or upset however, and this reaction is forced when provoked rather than growing naturally. The confidence he displays when in the company of his friends is short lived, as the outside world makes him feel very vulnerable. Despite having proved himself as not completely helpless, he often has to rely on his friends to provide a safety cushion to fall back on should he need it. This safety cushion he has tried to create makes him very easy to manipulate, particularly if you are as skilled at doing it as Doctor Lecter was. It is very easy to turn Will against himself, as his mind has been damaged by the minds of the serial killers he has gotten to know and therefore has very little defence against such attacks.
Our experiences shape us~
History -
William grew up in a poor family in Staffordshire, England. Little, if anything, is known about his mother, as he never really knew her himself, the same can be said about his childhood. He grew up under the care of his father, who worked with engines, and the occasional job on a surviving shipyard. His father's work moved them around a lot when he was young, so he was “always the stranger” at school to the other children. He was said to be “very quiet” and “not like the others”, by adults and other children that knew him. This was the very beginning of his social exclusion, something that continued long into his adult life. When he had grown up, he moved to America (New Orleans) to start afresh. He got work there as a homicide detective. He was stabbed while in the field, and was forced to take some time off. During this time he returned home, where he cared for his father in his last year. The grief hit him hard. It tore away at the fort within his head and revealed his deteriorating mental state, which forced him out of his job. He then went on to attend George Washington University, studying forensic science. After obtaining his degree, with nothing to return to back home, he went to work for the FBI's crime lab under Jack Crawford. He worked hard and proved his worth in both the lab and the field, then was given a teaching post at the FBI Academy. This allowed him to cut out the socialising part of most jobs, as he was merely “talking at them” rather than talking with them. He was later given the title of "Special Investigator" for when he was in the field, so that he could aid the FBI in catching killers using his personality disorder for their benefit.
His first major case was the serial killer named the “Minnesota Shrike”, as he supposedly impaled his victims on antlers, just as the Shrike bird was known to do. The victims were young girls, similar to his own daughter, so he “didn't have to kill her.” The impaling was actually done by a copycat killer, however the press never got wind of that, so the name stuck. He caught the Minnesota Shrike by a resignation letter at his place of work, simply because he didn't leave an address. It was pure luck. He caught Garrett Jacob Hobbs at his home, shooting him ten times in the chest to kill him. But not before Hobbs had killed his wife, and almost killed his daughter, Abigail, who had suffered a quite severe cut to the neck. However, Abigail survives the incident, and goes through intensive psychotherapy to try and return to normal. The intervention of one Dr. Hannibal Lecter stopped that recovery however, raising more problems for Will in his dwindling mental state.
Will goes on to catch more serial killers, aided by psychiatrists Dr. Alana Bloom and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and the head of the FBI unit, Jack Crawford. Throughout his cases, an intelligent copycat killer claims victims. They copied the methods of other killers (some to the degree where others thought they were the same killer) but Will knew differently. He could see that, but the killings were so random that it took him a long time to see the killer's face. Realising that he had been with the killer the entire time, he tries to tell the others, but as he has been gradually losing his mind throughout his time in the field, and is generally unstable, they do not believe him. After all, Dr. Lecter is respected by the FBI and has helped them catch killers, while the evidence against William (due to him being framed) was just mounting up. Fighting off encephalitis, body weak from sleep, and now nursing a bullet wound courtesy of Jack Crawford... Will is sent to prison, and given the medical care he should have been given much earlier on. His fever is reduced and his symptoms start disappearing (though not entirely) however he still isn't trusted. Hurt that they didn't believe him, he says nothing, getting out of prison on good behaviour. His memory is a little patchy in places, but he will never forget who the good doctor was, and what he had done.
