Your Name: Neira
Horses Name: Eclipsed Mist (Eclipse for short)
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story
Eclipse gallopped over the sand, like he usually did everyday, when he finally reached it.
The herd of his own kind. He had been away from them for a while now and finally where back home.
He had been playing with danger as he was gallopping around some humans travelling over the sand paradise with camels and heavy stuff with them. They saw him, as he wished and tryed to capture him.
And if he only had been running over the sand ways he knew, he wouldn't have been captured.
They threw a rope over him and around his great neck, making him fall into the steaming hot sand.
Not long after was he being crowed by humans and yelling, people trying to buy him.
He couldn't stand it, but he couldn't get away before the man who captured him was out of sight and the moon was shinig at the twilightblue sand paradise. He came over the fence and gallopped like he never had been doing other.
That night, he learned to be more careful. He learned that you only play with danger, if you know your escaping ways, and he also knew by himself that he wouldn't be playing like that in a long time.

Love is bittersweet
Something amazing thats simple, but complicated
But I worry continuously over confusing things
What is it? It feels like a loss
You, whos sincere and eccentric
While I pretend to be tough and practicing full-body swings
Being honest is too stimulating and makes me dizzy
I get hurt, I hurt you, its a naive preparation

Your Name: Avaria
Horses Name: Angortamor
(combined word of 'an Gorta Mór', which means the Great Hunger in the Irish language. Relating to the Great Famine, also known as the Irish Potato Famine, which was a period of mass starvation and disease. One million people died, while another million emigrated out of Ireland, causing a drastic population drop.)
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story
The year goes on, bringing more death and disease, more people leaving. I have watched them all die. There is nothing I can do to stop it. They blame the potatoes. Potato Blight, they say. Starvation has plagued many, death has plagued many more. This famine shows no mercy. The young, the old, the weak, the strong. All have succumbed to my disease. I gallop through the night, my rider carries his balances to weigh the bread and the grain that isn't there. Unlike my brothers, I speak of the prices to pay. Wheat and barley, ten times the normal. One can only afford enough to feed themselves. A day's wage. "And see thou hurt not the oil and the wine," I say. These luxuries are out of reach of the ordinary worker, they cannot afford thee. Therefore they shall remain untouched. Un-plagued. Only few will survive what I have done. For I am the famine that plagues this country. I left them starving in my wake. It is a curse. It is a blessing. It is life. It is death. I cannot help myself, I cannot stop what I do. Nor do I have any regrets.

(In case the story doesn't make much sense, it is spoken from the point of view of the horse, and it is described that the horse runs through a city during the night, and brings disease to the crops, causing the famine. The story is taking place in Ireland during 1740 to 1741, during the Great Famine, which is also what the horse's name is based on. The Great Famine was when the potatoes in Ireland had gotten a 'disease' known as Potato Blight, which causes the potatoes to shrink on the outside, and appear rotten on the inside, like so. Seeing cities that are lush and blooming in the future, is just what is ahead. The places the horse has not reached. But in the past are all of the places the horse has gone through. All of the places where the people have died.
As for the part about the horse speaking, well I did some research and it's said that upon seeing the horse, it speaks of the prices of wheat and barley, and also mentions that wine and oil should not be touched (the prices should stay the same). The horse is seen with a rider that carries balances to weigh bread and grains. And I think that explains about everything..)

Your Name: 13CountryGirl13
Horses Name: πείνα (translates to "Peína" which means famine in Greek.)
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story: Peína had been alone for so long, he couldn't remember what it once felt like to have companions, aside from the cloud of locusts that followed him, and destroyed any civilized place he passed through. He was so hungry, at times he began to wonder if eating the sand he was cursed to walk forever would be better than the constant hollow pain he felt in his stomach. His skin clung to his dead and beaten body like a throw blanket around a coat rack. He was constantly lonely, constantly angry, and always on the lookout for the devil who'd cursed him as this monster; an untamable beast that everyone feared.

((Since you said short history, I wrote a short history XD Hopefully this isn't too short though :/))

Your Name: Cougar28
Horses Name: Nälkä (means "hunger" in Finnish)
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story

Born in the moonlight, this stallion is a rouge, and a loner. He will only trust those who can prove their loyalty to him. But not many people, or creatures will even get close to him; for he is followed by locusts. They destroy the crops, leaving behind nothing. The creatures move on, since they have no food, So he walks alone, followed by his burdens, hoping to one day be free of them. Many have seen him, but no one approaches this Black stallion of Famine.

Your Name:MakaniBlack
Horses Name: Helios
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story Helios was born in Alexandria the capital of Egypt. Some looking at him may not think much of him but he was for a fact Cleopatra's favorite stallion. She loved this young stallion so much that she named her son Alexander Helios after him. Now you may wonder why he is her favorite. It wasn't for his beauty thogh he is quite a looker but for his strong, brave heart. He had saved her from the crocodiles when she was first pregnant with Julius Ceasare's unborn son. He nearly died from the wounds but he lived to fight another day. Now he is her prize stallion and has only the finest mares in his herd. He is also her best war horse. With him the rider seems invensible. This horse has no problem destroying the enemies of Cleopatra no matter who it is.

Your Name:
littlesami
Horses Name:
Carestia {famine in Italian}
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story

Carestia was funny little colt. He used to play practical jokes on everyone. But one day, he went to far and got banished. Never to return. As young colt he wasn't exactly sure how to survive. But he managed. Barely getting by. Most days he was starved. Rib cage showing. Skin stretched over his body. He got more intelligent. He did. But he also got cold-hearted, angry and frustrated. The stronger he got. The more vengeful he became. No one went near him for the fear he'd snap on them. He was always alone, always free, but never satisfied.

...I can't resist any longer. xD

Your Name: -3B-
Horses Name: Dichin (Navajo, "Hunger")
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story
Dichin was born and currently lives in the least fertile part of the desert, where even the cacti have a hard time living. He is such a rare sight because of the condition of his homeland and the fact that most animals are dead before they reach him, that he has been called the equivalent of the angel of death by many Native American tribes that skirt the worst of the desert. Lonely, he has often reflected on the death of his herd when he was young, remembering how their coats clung to their bones wearily, and wonders how he had ever survived the day that his last herdmate perished, too weak to pull himself to his hooves after a fall. There are many times that he wishes that the buzzards would just take him, too, just to ease the rolling hunger that always seems to churn in his stomach. However, he lives on, considering joining another herd, but far too wary of the world outside of what he knows, and afraid to stray from the tiny, pathetic excuse for an oasis he survives on.

Your Name: BlackJack
Horses Name: Abraxas
Height: 17h
Gender: Stallion
Story Abraxas was born into a small herd of DAMs. He has always been rather chaotic and rebellious, and more than once he has brought his herd into trouble with that trait. Where he goes, he often leaves everything turned upside down, and actually he quite enjoys it, he's got a sense of black humor and can be quite a prankster. It became worse when he grew into an adolescent, and at one point he went too far. It was during a great famine, when the little herd was nearly starving, and they were parched. Usually, they used to wander from oasis to oasis, just whenever the grass was staring to become too short to really live from it, they would go and search for another oasis with higher grass. Though, this one certain time they couldn't manage to find another oasis. Whenever they found one, they found dried, dead grass and no water either, the usual rainy period hadn't come, it was a disaster. The only one who didn't really understand how dangerous their situation was, was -of course- Abraxas. He was sure that the rain was going to come sooner or later, and he actually found it amusing watching the other herd members panicking. Suddenly, he raised his head, sniffing. A few moments later he yelled "I smell water!!!" and ran off, as fast as he could, and the herd followed. After a few minutes he stopped, the others looking at him suspensefully. "Wait...no...", he said, "...did I say I smell water? Of course I meant sand, pardonez moi! ...BUT, I found what I was smelling!:-D" and then he rolled on the bottom, laughing. No need to mention that the other herd members were not at all amused, now they weren't only endangered by the famine, but they had also used up their last bit of energy running after him. Abraxas' father, the lead stallion, looked at him with an "I'm so going to kill you until you die to death" expression on his face, his mother looked pretty embarassed, and the only one having a good laugh was Abraxas himself. He didn't realize that he had probably just sealed their fate. They were lucky, in the evening the clouds finally came, bringing the rain that they had been waiting for so desperately. The next morning, the desert was spread with flowers and grass, it was such a beautiful view. The only one who was somewhat anoyed was Abraxas. "If something like this happens again - and I mean EVER happens again - you will be kicked out of this herd immediately. Be warned.", his father had told him. "We'll see...", he thought, rolling his eyes, and trotted after the other herd members, already planning on the next prank.
