Helios
(Hee-lee-ohs)
Why?:
Well, this guy is so bright and sunny, I figured the name of a sun god would fit him. Heck, it sounds cool, and just seems to suit him.

He has reading glasses, but doesn’t need them all the time. He has no clothes that he wears all the time, but he has a variety of hats and scarves and things like that.
= Artistic =
He’s always got some kind of art project going. He does enjoy regular art, such as sketching and painting, but what he really enjoys is unconventional art: a statue constructed from duct tape, a picture made from used CDs, an old bicycle turned into a sculpture.Helios wrote:Stuff like that is just so much fun to make. And view. The possibilities of what you can create are endless. A soda can tossed in the street can become a work of art.
= Forgetful =
He usually leaves art supplies in his pouch without realizing it. He puts them in there when he takes a break from working on art. When he looks for them again, he can’t seem to remember where he put them.
= Straightforward =
He’s very opinionated, and thinks that certain things should be a certain way. When he feels strongly about something, he has a hard time keeping his feelings to himself, but he’s polite and tries to hold them in. If you ask what he thinks about something, he will give you his honest view. He’ll sugarcoat hardly anything, and sometimes says something offensive without knowing it or meaning to.
= Individual =
He has his own sense of style, and does things in his own unique way. He doesn’t really care what other people think of him. If he’s happy, then their opinions don’t matter.Helios wrote:As wise man once said... “Those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
= Open-Minded =
He may not always approve of your ideas, but he’s always willing to listen to them.
= Clumsy =Helios wrote:-tea cup slips out of his hand- Oh, not again! Sorry about that!
= Skeptical =
He's the opposite of gullible. If you tell him something even a little bit hard to believe he'll keep questioning you until he's sure you're telling the truth.
= Perfectionist =
Sometimes he’s a little too picky about his art. He can spend an hour trying to ‘fix’ a small detail.

~.:Quirks:.~
He sometimes wears strange outfits.
He sometimes paints his horns. (It’s like painting your nails.)
He chews his claws when he gets stressed.
He’s allergic to peanuts.
He always has to twirl his pencil in his hand 3 times before he starts drawing. Also, he often stores his pencils behind his ears.
[It’s mostly informational, but it kind of sounds like a story in some parts. Hopefully it’s not too confusing. o3o]
He was born and raised on a farm. He never really knew his father, and his mother was constantly doing work on the farm. His brother would often help her out, but always found time to play with Helios.
He was only nine years old (and his brother 14) when there was a horrible accident. Their mother was riding her tractor around a curve in the road, and a truck was hurtling around the corner… The truck struck her, making her brain dead. She passed away a week later. Helios was raised by his older brother from that point on. They’re closer than family.
They left the farm after their mother died and took up a life living in the wild. They lived there until Helios was 15. By that time, his brother had found a girl and they went off to start a jam. His brother told Helios he was of course welcome to be part of it, but Helios declined. He had heard all about the city from his brother’s mate, and wanted to see it for himself.
So, Helios set off in search of the city, and when he found it he was amazed. That was where he discovered art, and learned all about it. He took classes in sculpting, but when he started sculpting himself, he didn’t have enough money to buy the special clay required. Instead he used whatever objects he found lying around. Some admired his work, others thought he was crazy. But he had found something he loved to do, and decided he was going to do it no matter what others thought about it. He took up a career as an artist, and eventually earned enough money to buy actual art supplies, so he practiced conventional art as well.
His job didn’t make him rich, but it was enough for him to buy an apartment and live there for years to come. In recent years he has realized it is a bit of a lonely lifestyle, so he is saving up money to move to an area with more JBDs.
How would you greet someone?Helios wrote:By saying hello? >_>
Who’s your favorite artist?Helios wrote:Me! Haha, kidding. I’m not really sure; there are so many that I admire.
Did you like living on a farm?Helios wrote:Well… I liked living there with my family. But taking care of the animals wasn’t really my thing. My brother would try to make a game out of the chores to get me to do them. –chuckles-
How would you describe yourself?Helios wrote:Unique. But then.. everyone’s unique in their own way, eh?
[Here are some questions my sister and dad came up with lol.]
Any childhood crushes?Helios wrote:Well, I didn’t meet many other dragons when I was younger, let alone others my age..
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?Helios wrote:I like to mix different flavors together and try different tastes. But sometimes I just stick with plain old vanilla.
Do you like clowns?Helios wrote:Um.. What? >_>;
Well, they’re kind of creepy..
Do you know the Periodic Table of Elements?Helios wrote:Eh? What’s that?
Why don’t you like swimming?Helios wrote:I.. I don’t know how to swim. I tried once and almost drowned. I was lucky my brother was nearby.
How well do you know your plants?Helios wrote:Potato leaves are poisonous, and you should never eat a green potato; that means it has found sunlight. If you plant squash and beans near corn, the different nutrients exchanged between them help each grow. ...That answer your question?
Have you broken anything before? If so, what?Helios wrote:Oooh boy. I don’t think I can list all the things I’ve broken in my life. Probably a bunch of mugs I dropped... Maybe some vases I bumped into…… Oh.. and that family portrait Mom spent so much money on…. –hides face in paws-
Have you ever been badly injured?Helios wrote:I’ve sprained my ankles on multiple occasions, and broke a bone near the end of my tail as a bean, when I fell out of an apple tree. It grew back crooked.
Where do you live?Helios wrote:I live in an apartment in the city. It’s pretty close to downtown, and an art shop where I buy supplies. There are also some nice bakeries and restaurants close by. The apartment itself is.. Okay, it’s kind of messy. I forget to put things away and they’ve just sort of accumulated over the years.
What’s the weirdest dream you’ve ever had?Helios wrote:Uhm… Well…. I once had a dream where I was an alley cat, and I could walk up walls..? It was really weird, I don’t remember much other than that.
Have you ever heard of anime?Helios wrote:I’ve heard it’s like Japanese cartoons. Don’t know much other than that.
Milky Way, Snickers, or Three Musketeers?Helios wrote:Snickers all the way.
What board games do you like?Helios wrote:Mouse Trap is a fun one. Haven’t played any board games in a while, though I used to play them on the farm sometimes.
What kind of weather do you like?Helios wrote:Anything but snow, because snow is cold and makes a mess when it melts.
Have you ever made it to the top of a tree?Helios wrote:I tried once. That was when I broke my tail.
Do you like the smell of candles?Helios wrote:Yes. Though not when they smoke a lot. Sometimes I work by candlelight; the colors look different, and it makes the art look more interesting.
What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever been?Helios wrote:The beautiful meadow in my dreams. Haha, kidding, kidding. In real life it would have to be the city. I’d never seen anything like it when I first got here. Still I discover new things every day.
If you had one day left to live, how would you spend it?Helios wrote:I would first go to visit my brother and thank him for everything, bestow all my belongings to him. From there I would go back to the old farm and just walk around and revisit my childhood. Then I’d find the most beautiful flowers and lay them on my mother’s grave. I would spend my last minutes there before joining her.
When I saw him:
What I would do if I won him:
Well firstly, if I won I’d freak out. Then I’d probably bounce over to the fanclub to share my feels. Of course, I would shower him with love and art, and roleplay him. He’d get the same attention that I give my JBD North. <3
Asdfalkjsdh Well, isn’t this what any good owner would do with their JBD?
I guess what I’m trying to say is…
He’s so colorful and pretty and… alshlfkjaasdjaskhdgajsdfhg I LOVE HIM SO MUCH <33333
