Here (day 7)Day: 8
Choice of Ingredient(s):
Color - Roasted PokebeansPrompt(s): (349 Words!)
Kana was honestly hoping to make it up to the others today after ruining Auntie’s bowl and getting candy corn everywhere. She had come in after the others had scattered just in time to hear about the roasted pokebeans-- that seemed like something she could do! Maybe! She hoped so, anyway.
And so the Alckritty hurried her little legs about as fast as they could possibly go, taking herself to the coffee shop in a hurry. It seemed like a good enough of a place as any to locate pokebeans, right??
As fate would have it, it appeared that there was an Incineroar working the cafe today! Kana’s eyes went wide with wonder as she pitter-pattered inside, though she felt a bit self-conscious about the fact she was dragging cream everywhere she went. These floors had been pretty clean before she got here after all.
“H-Hello! Do you have any pokebeans I could have…? I’m helping make a pie…”
The Incineroar didn’t seem all too upset about the mess that the cream cat had made, simply smiling down at her.
“Are you helping Auntie? We just got a fresh batch imported a few days ago.”
“Y-Yes! P-Please…I sort of accidentally broke something and--”
“You need not explain yourself to me, dear. Just give her a bag of these and tell her to come not be a stranger. I’ll make sure to prepare some peppermint tea for her next time she comes in, on the house.”
Kana couldn’t help but admire just how beloved Auntie was in the community, given her own reputation back home. She waved her drippy tail around in joy, bouncing up and down on the spot.
“Thank you so much! C-Could…could I trouble you to roast them too, please?”
“Ahhh, I see why you’re needing ‘em…yeah. Sure thing. I’ll be a bit longer, so just take a seat! Don’t you worry about the mess-- our owner is an Alcremie. We’re trained for these things!”
For once, Kana didn’t feel like such a burden…she couldn’t wait to bring these roasted pokebeans back to help with the pie.

Choice of Ingredient(s):
Charm - custard
Prompt(s):
The kids were entirely all too eager to help Auntie make the custard! Though perhaps.. There was a tad of an initial struggle seeing as both of them had only wings and talons to grasp the cooking tools with. Not that any of those obstacles would stop them though! Determined Champ ended up spilling everywhere, and is incredibly lucky that auntie is a good sport and both of them simply exchanged a laugh with her, as she went back to get more mixture in the bowl. In the end, it was Champ who sat back to watch as Auntie showed the much more patient Chester how to make the custard and things went much smoother after that.
Chester seemed to be a natural! The custard was done in no time, thanks to him.
Custard acquired!

Flavor - Pecans Prompt(s):
break open some pecan shells, asks auntie... this is a job for a pokemon who is strong, who has the ability to crack hard casings for tasty morsels. who else would have the gusto for this task, if not allie? her large claws are absolutely perfect for the job, and she has quite the curiosity, too. allie loves to tear, squeeze, and break apart anything to see the contents. as a bonus, she gets a delicious snack, too! talk about chef's privilege.

1. Pecans will add a nutty flavor to your pie! I gathered some up beforehand but I don't have any physical moves to break open the tough shells... Oh but I'm sure you can crack them open! Just don't break my counters, hoo-hoo~ Give it your all, you can go outside and have fun with it... The trees out back are pecan trees anyway!

Day Nine
Welcome back!
Let me see here...
If you want to mix and match ingredients,
I don't blame you! Some of these could go with anything!
Let me tell you about these ingredients so you can decide
if you want to go through the effort today, hoo-hoo!
Don't fret if they don't appeal to you...
There's always tomorrow's ingredients!
Today's Prompts
Show/Tell Your pokemon getting these ingredients!
(You can pick one, some, all, or none! Auntie will keep track of which ingredients you give her)
You'll need four total ingredients to create a pie. One that adds flavor, one for color, another for aroma, and finally one for charm!
1. Small Limes will add a pleasantly sour citrus flavor to your pie! Key? Oh, hm I suppose they are similar in shape to the keyhole... What a cute idea! Anyway- There's a Klink that hands these fruits out for solving their riddles and puzzles... But to be frank, they're a con-artist and call them something that they aren't to trick you... All I know is that they give out the small limes that I use in my pies..~ They wouldn't taste the same without them!2. Sugar Grass can add a green color to your pie! Mash the blades up into a paste and use to your heart's content! As a plus, it's quite sweet~ So you don't need anything to balance the flavor. Though.. you might have trouble. It's quite tall grass and pokemon who love sweets may be lurking around and hiding out in their field of snacks3. Figgy Berry adds a spicy aroma to your pie! This Berry packs the heat and can leave you dazed if you're not used to their spice! So it's very important to only use a little... Which is why I typically mist the juices over a pie for the scent of warmth instead of adding heat~ There's a Trevenant that seems to really enjoy these berries... You can find them in the fields, but they're quite protective of their snacks. If battles aren't your game, maybe you can lure them away long enough to get a few?4. Marshmallow Root adds a springy charm to your pie! You'll have to go out and forage again for this one. It absorbs a lot of water and in a powder can be mixed to make a sweet, chewy texture! Like the name implies, you'll have to go back to the marshes... You won't find the mushrooms anymore, but now is as good a time as any to dig up some roots! Don't take too many, as we don't need much and don't want to devastate the ecosystems and all hoo-hoo! We aren't the only ones that eat these plants after all!What will you choose?

Roasted Pokebeans~Day: 9
Choice of Ingredient(s):
Small Limes/
Roasted Pokebeans/
Aroma/
Marshmellow RootPrompt(s):
1.Small Limes -- [985 words]
- Code: Select all
Riddles and tricks? That flew way over Daidaiiro's head, but he did recognize the look of delight that passed through his trainer's eyes when Auntie mentioned the limes.
"I love limes so much," sighed Rylanie, his trainer, wistfully. Many of her foods growing up were made with hints of lime. She even loved lime chips!
"Then let's get them!" Daidaiiro cheered rushing out right after he made his decision. Rylanie looked hesitant unsure if the lime would go well with the chocolatey flavor of the roasted pokebeans they got yesterday. Well, you live, and you learn, right? She didn't want to risk discouraging the enthusiastic Scorbunny, and she supposed he would learn by making mistakes. Who knows? Maybe it would taste well in the end? [s] She wasn't going to complain. That Klink was apparently going to give away that ingredient for free. [/s] She silently prayed it would taste fine as she followed after her Pokémon's heels.
Daidaiiro skid to a stop when he encountered the Klink and stopped in his tracks observing the sentient cogs interlocking exclaiming in amazement, "O-oh... you're so cool! You remind me of my hometown, Motostoke!" A wide grin lit up both the faces of the gears. Rylanie was warm-hearted by the sight of the Klink. Klinks were first discovered in her home region of Unova. So, she was reminded of home too momentarily. Her rosy disposition towards the merchant would soon be dispelled.
"Aye~ And we got cool wares too, son~!" remarked the top cog while gesturing towards a table of goods. Rylanie furrowed her brow observing that the small limes were marked as baby pears. Nothing actually was marked as limes.
Noticing this, Daidaiiro mewled, "Awh, are you out of limes? We were looking for the same limes that Auntie uses for her pies."
"Hmm, perhaps we have a few," the bottom cog hummed gazing to the side as if considering something. He gave a glance up to his partner before continuing, "But you will have to answer a riddle~" Daidaiiro nodded his head inching closer to the table and daring to place his paws on the edge in anticipation. His first riddle! He was excited to test his mental strength! "Well, you seem ready to go kid. Why don't you try this one on for size? How can a pant's pocket be empty and still have something in it?" Daidaiiro's mouth hung ajar as he seemed completely baffled by the prospect of a pocket being empty and yet having something in it.
"B-but that's a c-contradiction! It doesn't make sense!" cried the tiny Scorbunny.
"Well, then it wouldn't make sense giving him our small limes if he can't even figure that one out," mumbled the top gear and the other one snickered. Rylanie looked concerned to see her Pokémon so distraught. She couldn't understand Daidaiiro nor the Klink when they spoke, so she was just making general guesses from their body language and tone. Were they telling him they didn't have any when they clearly had a whole basketful before him?
She began to fume, but Daidaiiro interrupted her, "Can I have a hint?"
"Nope. That wouldn't be fair," remarked the Klink with a smirk. Daidaiiro laid his head against the table trying to think as hard as he can, but he was only thinking about thinking hard. It led him nowhere. Rylanie pointed at the "baby pears" thinking Daidaiiro was having trouble finding the limes. "Your trainer is interested in the baby pears?" inquired the top cog.
Daidaiiro shook his head while complaining, "No, Rylanie, we need the small limes. The pears won't do, but this riddle is so hard!" Rylanie wished she could understand her Pokémon, because she didn't have a clue what was going on. She was frankly flummoxed. "It's like my brain is one giant hole!" the bunny groaned feeling like he was cudgeling his brains.
"Well, you are hare-brained," the bottom cog uttered dryly and the other began to laugh. Then Daidaiiro's eyes widened! Wait? A hole? Could that be a thing? Well, a hole was technically a thing, right?
"Oh! Is it a hole?" squealed the small Scorbunny leaping in place almost making the table shake too hard. The cogs chuckled happy that he figured it out.
"Atta boy! You did it. Now, that's why we don't have any small limes on us... They all fell out the hole," sighed the top cog.
"But you don't have pants!" Daidaiiro vociferated bewildered.
"Yeah, but we don't have arms nor pants. So, we try to hold things in our center pouch," explained the bottom gear talking about their center holes. Daidaiiro realized what they were saying and nodded indicating he understood. "So, why don't you help us out, and go look for those small limes. We must have dropped it along the way. Just pick up whatever you find, and we'll reward you." Daidaiiro squeaked and hopped to action scavenging the area and picking up fruit left and right. Rylanie glared down at the Klink sternly with her arms crossed thinking she had enough of this farce. She realized instantly that they had sent off her Pokémon to do their own work by collecting fruit for the stand. Obviously, they needed help to gather the fruit, but they could have just asked instead of conning people into it.
The cogs chuckled to themselves quietly, "Hey, I guess the lady won't like it if we give the poor little scamp one or two limes." When Daidaiiro returned with a plenty of collected fruit, they snuck some of the "baby pears" in the bunch. They begrudgingly gave a third of what they had in the basket to the Scorbunny. "There you go, son. You earned it."
"A million thanks, misters!" squeaked Daidaiiro happily. Rylanie waved them off and they went on their merry way while Rylanie wondered how Auntie dealt with the Klink's chicanery.
2. Marshmallow Root -- [473 Words]
- Code: Select all
A switch had turned on in Daidaiiro's bunny brain. Dig? DIG? DIG! He was thrilled about the prospect of digging so much that he didn't even care what was the ingredient. He was going to dig up the entire marshes if Rylanie and Auntie let him! Rylanie looked a bit worried. Daidaiiro had shown signs of obsession when it came to digging. He could do it for hours if unfettered, and he even did a digging motion on her a couple times...
"I guess I'm coming along to make sure he doesn't pull up everything by the roots in the marsh," Rylanie expressed with a small simper. She let out a small sigh with a smile seeing Daidaiiro dash away towards the mashes with such eagerness. She found it charming that he was easily excited, but she really would love to just have a nice walk sometimes. Urging herself, she broke off into a sprint to catch up. When they made it to the marsh, Rylanie warned in between pants while leaning on her knees, "Hey, Daidaiiro... try... not... to... disturb... the place... too much." Daidaiiro was too weary from the trip. His fragile body laid on the ground also trying to catch his breath. "I wish I brought a cool drink," Rylanie murmured while peering around. The ground looked incredibly damp...
When Daidaiiro arose, he was bemired. Uh, oh. Yeah, there it was. It was going to take forever to wash the clumps of mud off his fur. The Scorbunny paid no mind to that though, he went to the edge of the water and began to dig to his heart's content. Rylanie flinched as the clumps of dirt flew everywhere, and she double-checked that she was out Daidaiiro's digging radius.
After a couple of minutes of mindless digging, she reminded the Scorbunny, "Hey! Are you just digging to dig, or did you actually find some marshmellow roots?" Daidaiiro paused realizing he had just been enjoying himself immensely. He shot up looking at Rylanie, who sighed seeing him absolutely entrenched in mud.
"I-i think I found a couple!" he prevaricated looking at the two roots he found. Rylanie raised a brow, and he moved locations trying to be more aware of his surrounding and deliberate in his digging. After a while, he had collected enough marshmallow roots for the pie.
His trainer picked up the roots while chuckled lightly, "Oh, everything is going to need a good wash when we get home. Don't touch anything when we get there, Candy Corn." Daidaiiro reacted to the nickname with a cheerful squeak. When they got home, Rylanie carried Daidaiiro in to not track muddy footprints everywhere. Then she made sure he had his bath and washed the new ingredients in the kitchen. Only one ingredient was left! Today was a productive day.

Day: 9
Choice of Ingredients: (ONLY ONE of each) Flavor (pumpkin)/Color (ectoplasmic sugar)/Aroma (raticate claw)/Charm (custard)
Bake!: [496 words]
It has been several days of terribly, terribly hard work, and Griffin is tired. Tired enough that he decides today is the day to bake his pie, but not so tired that he lacks the energy to complete the task. Auntie Appletun walks him gently through the creation of pastry, a step which she largely does alone but allows him to help by sprinkling in the small bag of ectoplasmic sugar he received from the friendly Mimikyu in the woods and laughs when the pastry starts to fade into invisibility before their very eyes. It makes the process of rolling the pastry out large enough to create a beautiful shell for the pie a little harder, but they muddle through it together, hands and paws touching the corners of the pastry to feel how wide and thin it has gotten. She lines the pie dish for him, and holds the large mixing bowl in place while he tries to spoon the pumpkin puree they made together, sprinkled with ground up raticate claw which smells of spice, delicious and warm, inside of it. He doesn't flatten it properly with the back of the spoon, and she grimaces at the pile of puree too large in the middle and too sparse at the edges until he turns proudly to her and she replaces her grimace with a bright smile.
"Here, dearie. Why don't we spread it out now? That way, every slice will have enough filling."
She's non-judgemental and kind, smoothes the puree out to the edges of the dish while he watches intently standing on her kitchen counter, ears twitching. And then he looks to her inquisitively, points to the rest of the ground raticate claw. For a moment, Auntie looks like she's thinking.
"Ah, why not. Sprinkle the rest on top. It really is a lovely ingredient. Shame it's so hard to get ahold of!"
Griffin grins, and carefully distributes the rest of the spice over the filling, a light dusting that only enhances the smell. It smells good. Auntie drapes the lid of the pie over the top, and supervises him while he scores little vents into it for the steam to escape (though he's not a child and does not need supervision -- she seems the type to worry). They crimp the edges of the pastry, and Auntie puts the pie in the oven. While it bakes, filling her home with the warmth of pumpkin and spice and sugar, she brews them a pot of tea, and tells Griffin stories of when she was a much younger Appletun until her oven timer pings to signal that the pie is finished baking. Griffin goes to stand, but she insists he sit and finish his third mug of tea. She gets up to fetch the pie from the oven, and grabs the bowl of custard they made up yesterday, pouring it into a pan on the stove to warm. It'll make a delicious topping.

Sugar Grass:
Leo had the knack for finding things. So when Auntie Appletun said that finding Sugar Grass might prove to be a bit troublesome, Leo knew that he was up for the challenge. He had his sights set on getting the Sugar Grass first, figuring that if he could find the difficult ingredient that he would have plenty of time to go back later to collect the Marshmallow Root he would also be needing to grab. The Linoone made haste on his journey, going to different towns and asking if anyone might have word of where tall grass may be that other Pokemon might enjoy hanging out at. Most Pokemon questioned helped a bit and would guide him to nearby areas filled with tall grass, but each time, the taste test would cause him to turn up empty handed. Auntie Appletun was correct. It was a bit troubling to find. But it wasn't like Leo to give up so quickly, being the scavenger he was. He kept making his way from town to town. Stopping every few hours in between to rest himself for a bit.
As he was just an hour or so out from another town, Leo found himself nearing a set of tall grass. His stomach rumbled loudand that's when Leo decided to stop for a bite to eat. There were no signs of any berry bushes nearby, so Leo had no choice but to snack on the grass, no matter what it may be. Wandering into the grass, Leo sat himself down and took a handful into his paw, before taking a bite. Upon the taste, Leo realized that it was a sweet taste. He thought it was delicious and took another bite without hesitation. When he then realized, that this was the ingredient that he was looking for. Leo had found Sugar Grass all by himself, simply by stopping for a bite to eat.
After his meal, Leo snatched up the perfect amount of Sugar Grass and quickly made his way to get his second ingredient, Marshmallow Root. [342]
Marshmallow Root:
Remembering that he had passed a marsh on his previous journey to find Sugar Grass, Leo made haste back to where he remembered said marsh to be. Mushrooms may be out of season, but he knew that finding roots, especially Marshmallow Root, would be quite easy now. After around a two hour's journey, the marsh that Leo had passed earlier in the day had come in sight. Without any hestitation, Leo full on sprinted into the marsh and began to dig in several different areas in hopes to find Marshmallow Root. Of course, this didn't take long at all. The third hole that Leo had dug turned up some Marshmallow Root, and Leo had gladly put it in a bag with the Sugar Grass that he collected earlier. Now that he had both ingredients, all Leo had to do was make his way back to Auntie Appletun and deliver the good news to her, along with the ingredients, of course. [160]
