Hunter looks at the broken translator, and then at Roswell, who is sitting in that general direction. Hunter thinks a moment. "Maybe I could help to talk for you? I don't know much about fixing things and I don't think I'd do it justice if I tried.. hm. Maybe I'll give it a shot."

Hunter takes the translator apart to let it dry from whatever chemicals had touched it. Then, he tampered with it before putting it all back together. It worked! But the voice was somewhat scratchy and much more distorted than before, but Roswell seems to understand it just fine for now.
