Jason comes back once again. Seeing Ripsaw asleep, he tilts his head. The papers had been scattered around his workspace. Jason gathered them up and looked them over. His paperwork seemed easy enough, so Jason figured that he'd give the other Chicoon a break and fill it out for him. Ripsaw probably works too much, if he's falling asleep like this. Jason fetched a bottle of water and some popcorn from a nearby stall. Hopefully, he'd eat and drink when he woke up. Jason turned to the Pendulum ride, giving it a through inspection. A bunch of the panels seemed to be dented or bent out of shape. Easy enough of a load for today.

Jason trotted over to the storage shed to collect the tool box once again. Today, however, it wasn't there! That problem would have to be solved before he could work out the other issue, he supposed. Now where could that thing be? Someone probably just forgot to put it back when they went to fix another ride. Good thing for him that there was a list of the carnival rides that included their current status. He went back to the area where Ripsaw was sleeping, and leafed through the papers until he found what he was looking for. The Ferris Wheel had been serviced earlier that day, so that was probably where he'd be able to find the toolbox.

It wasn't a long walk to the Ferris Wheel. He was in luck too, the ride operator had been holding onto it ever since the Chicoon who had come to do maintenance left. Jason reclaimed the tools and made his way back to the pendulum ride. It didn't take him long to wrench the nuts off the panels on the body of the ride. From there, he just laid them on the ground and used a hammer to bang out the dents. After replacing the panels, he looked at some of the bent fence poles around the ride. Those were also a pretty easy fix - Jason just used his brute force to bend them back into shape.

It was getting pretty late as Jason finished up. He was getting a bit tired, and there were other things to do still at the Carnival. So, he put the tool box back in it's proper place and wandered off. It was really strange how these machines could break so often.

Beebo decides it would be best to leave Ripsaw alone, as they don't want to disturb the other Chicoon. They head over to the ride, looking up at it, before getting to work again, poring over their research as they try to figure out what's wrong with it.

Arlo quietly sighs in defeat upon seeing Ripsaw here. It seems he's failed in his self-appointed duties as "hall monitor." He really wishes Ripsaw would care more about his health whether it be physical or mental. Why won't he just take some time off?

He then sees a large cardboard box with black sharpie writing on it that says, "Lost & Found" and makes his way over to it. Inside he finds various items that have been lost and stored here waiting for their owners to find their way back to them. It makes him feel a bit sad, really. Hoping that the items eventually get returned to their rightful owners he begins to dig through the box while making as little noise as possible.

A soft, baby blue blanket catches his attention and he smiles to himself. Surely the owner of this blanket wouldn't mind if he borrowed it for a bit? He'll return it later, anyway. For now someone is in need of it more than the missing owner. Arlo pulls the blanket out of the box carefully and flaps it a few times to get any possible dirt and fuzz off before making his way to where Ripsaw was sleeping. He seems to be incredibly drained and tired. Arlo feels bad for him since he knows the ride is stressing him out.

He then gently lays the blanket over Ripsaw's sleeping form and holds his breath when he stirrs a bit. It seems he's just getting more comfortable as he never opens his eyes. Good. The longer he's asleep the more rest he gets. There's no way Arlo is waking him up. He absolutely needs and deserves this nap. He then quietly makes his way back over to the ride and settles down nearby to keep an eye on Ripsaw. If he does wake up and continue to work he needs to know so he can go find help.

Take a look at the ride, investigate! And then go for a lemonade break cause the heat is hot.

Korbl made his way back over to the ride, after seeing Ripsaw sound asleep...he didn't dare want to wake him up and ask what he did, he looked so tired! Korbl decides to go investigate! He's been around the ride for a past few days, so surely spotting something out of place would be easy to notice.

After looking over the ride, he didn't see anything that looked bad. Ripsaw probably wants the ride fixed as badly as he does, Korbl finds a shady spot near the ride to settle in. It sure was hot today...he scanned the nearby tents and set up booths until he saw it -- a lemonade stand!! A glass of ice cold lemonade sounded like a wonderful way to beat the heat!

Without hesitating, Korbl ran off in the direction of the lemonade stand. Maybe tomorrow he would fix the ride, or have another chance to.

get back to work with the wires. They start plugging and unplugging them again. Every once in a while something will flicker or make a noise, though for the most part not much seems to happen. It seems today is a slow day.

Finally the pair are starting to feel better. Clementine and Key get back up, stretching a bit. "I... feel like I have to walk off a bit of those treats though before we get back up and going you know?" Clementine asked, earning a nod from Key. And so for one more day the pair were slackers, instead jogging laps around the carnival to try and settle their full tummies!

Jellybean notices the big ride and is immediately excited to have spotted it! It wasn't aware that the ride was broken down at any capacity. It squeaked in excitement and jumped over to the ride. There were no people in line?? That's awesome! But Jellybean wondered why the lights were off... It wanted to get on the ride so bad. It was determined to turn the ride on!

Jellybean was aware of Ripsaw and was a bit intimidated by his appearance. It made sure to sneak past quick and quietly on its small feet. It skittered to a stop at the front of the ride and examined. Jellybean was sad to see the ride so lifeless and empty... It jumped forward and into the entrance to try to locate what would start the ride back up again. It found the booth where the workers usually sat to control the ride. It hopped up into the seat, but alas, Jellybean was a little too small to see the interface.

Jellybean didn't quit here though. It thought it didn't have to know. It squeaked in curiousity and began to press buttons and pull levers. The ride itself began to creak, and extremely loud and ear-piercing noises started up from the ride; an indicator of its broken down state. Jellybean rushed to quickly turn the ride off again, that was way too loud for it. It smacked buttons again until the noise finally stopped.

Little did Jellybean know, this had caught the attention of some chicoons nearby, and park workers were soon notified. A park worker had came to the ride entrance and began to try to get the attention of Jellybean.

"Hey there, only park workers can touch the rides! This ride is out of service!" The park worker shouted in Jellybean's direction. It was trying to recover from the scarily loud noise that had came from the ride. Jellybean squeaked in fear of the park worker and quickly skittered from the control booth. It ran to the ride itself and looked back at the worker.

"C'mon! Just come out! Don't touch the ride, it isn't safe!"

Jellybean didn't listen, squeaked, and quickly scurried up into the ride. It had found its way up and around the ride and was climbing up it. The ride worker had ran into the ride's area and began to shout at Jellybean to come down, but it didn't want to listen. It was absolutely terrified of getting in trouble and wanted the park worker to leave before even considering getting down. Jellybean only went higher and higher until it had reached the very top...

Jellybean had looked down. A mistake. Adrenaline immediately ran up Jellybean's spine and its back arched like a cat, gripping onto the ride as hard as it could. It was petrified. Jellybean shut its eyes as tight as it could. It heard the park worker screaming at it, but it couldn't make out the words that was being said.

The park worker had gotten the attention of other park workers, who were quick to run to the scene. Jellybean was stuck like a cat in a tree, and its position on the top of the ride was no different from a petrified kitten.

The park worker tried to work their way up there themself, they knew how the ride worked and could climb it with ease. But alas, the ride was to slippery and steep for them to get any traction. They wondered how Jellybean was even able to get up there.

After plenty of attempts of climbing and shouting at Jellybean, the workers eventually came to the conclusion that maybe they should coax Jellybean down. It was already beginning to get exhausted from just the mental wear of the fear of the park workers and the height. Jellybean had to open its eyes eventually, and it did. It was freaked out beyond all belief. It wanted down but it was terrified of trying. It let out a squeak!

The workers continued to watch Jellybean, hidden away behind one of the walls that surrounded the attraction. Jellybean had moved a back paw down, and found itself sliding down one of the metal poles of the pendulum to the ride's car. Jellybean had wrapped its legs around it and slid down it like a pole on a playground. The height was much more bearable now, and Jellybean had gently hopped down into the seats, before hopping back onto the ground. Then it noticed the workers and skittered away as fast as it could. Jellybean plans on trying again when there aren't so many people working...

Churro decides to let Ripsaw rest as they probably had a long night. Instead, Churro, out of boredom, takes a look at what they can help to fix the ride. They spot some paint flaking off the sides. They bring out the paint and restore the ride's appearance. Churro adds some finishing touches and some silly designs to match the vibe of the carnival. They didn't realize the sun is already setting. It was a long day for them and they decide to end the day with a snack.

Max was feeling a little more confident today. He'd done some more research into machine wiring and learned that there might be a better way to tackle affixing those black wires to the right holes without needing to do some trial and error. Though he had a strong suspicion it might not just be the wiring that was wrong. But he didn't want to give up, even if his mate kept telling him he was being ridiculous going back each day to keep trying. Hopefully Ripsaw hadn't come back to the carousel after Max had left. He felt like he'd made some headway yesterday. It would be a huge bummer if his wiring had been messed with.

But it didn't look like anything had been tampered with when Max got back under the carousel's control console. The wires he had managed to plug into the correct holes yesterday were still plugged in. He'd left the five black ones because he'd figured it would be better to tackle them when he was feeling fresh today. Based on his research, there was a way to tell the black wires apart from one another. It was a very tiny detail that he wouldn't have thought to look for. The black wires were all labeled!

Of course, the labels weren't anything straight forward. Just a couple of letters printed towards the end of each wire. The holes they were supposed to go to were also labeled. Max clenched a flashlight in his teeth to shine it into the console so he could see all the labels on the wires and the holes. He carefully checked each wire's label against the labels of the holes and slowly but surely got each of the five black wires into their correct holes. Max clicked off the flashlight and stood up to try flipping the on off switch on the top panel of the console.

Max's heart skipped a beat as the ride sputtered. He saw a flash of light from the bulbs around the outer edge of the carousel. But then the lights went out and there was no more noises. The rainbow Chicoon sighed heavily. He wasn't surprised, though. Again, he was no mechanic! Maybe his mate was right and this was a total waste of his time. But no, Max was being counted on by Ripsaw and the others to fix this! He smacked his palm with his fist. He was going to fix this! [410 words]
