Loke was born as one of two brothers, and life started out simply. However as they grew and their powers started to manifest themselves, Loke started turning into more of a playful trickster. Playing tricks on his brother and other cubs around their age became a habit for him, and the adults only started taking notice when he grew more bold and started to mess with them too.
Shortly after he and his brother became adults, he mysteriously lost his brother. Loke doesn't know where his brother went, or even if he's still alive, but he secretly holds out the hope that his brother will some day return. He spent a long time sad and grieving over losing his brother, but eventually, he realized that he needed to move on. He couldn't spend his entire life sad.
After a long while of keeping to himself, Loke was hiding in the shadows off the shores of the Lake of Eternity. Watching the Lake had become something of a habit for him; There was an odd fascination he held with the awe inspiring, chill inducing Lake of the Dead. Little did he know, that his little habit, would be what changed his life. He was there when the Lake Cubs appeared, watched how they all came to the surface and washed ashore, something that perplexed him, as well as made him wonder things. If these cubs could come back, maybe his brother could?
One of these cubs ended up running right towards him after getting scared, and he let the helpless thing run into him. He could tell that something wasn't right by the way she couldn't respond to him, so he tried his best to gauge her emotions. Taking her under his wing, Loke ended up raising this little cub as his own, and she'd come to be called Rys. Being a father figure was hard, especially when your child was mute and couldn't tell you what she wanted, needed, or how she felt. They eventually found a happy medium though, and Rys seemed to cling to Loke, scared of the others in the pride, being very dependent on him. Loke didn't so much mind at the time, however time changes all things.
One day, he came across a lioness that struck him as beautiful. Her name was Vanhedra, and he decided to get to know her. She was enchanting to the male, everything a lion had yet to be for him. He hung on her every word and coveted every moment he could spend in her presence. She became like a goddess to him. She even convinced him to take up the rank of Support Warrior with her, and taking a rank had been something Loke had never wanted to do before. However, it seemed with time, things changed. They always do, because after awhile, Loke realized he was deeply in love with Vanhedra.
The day that Vanhedra told Loke she was expecting his cubs, was a day filled with both excitement and fear. The thought of raising cubs with his mate was exciting, and even though he had fathered Rys, the idea of becoming a father to his own flesh and blood scared the daylights out of him. He felt even worse though when the cubs were born, and Vanhedra fell severely ill. Loke grew scared, very scared, and felt extremely guilty. If he had never given her cubs, she wouldn't be sick!
After a time, not even the healers of the pride could figure out whys he was sick, and Van hadn't shown any signs of getting better. So Loke set off to try and find answers, and one of his sons, Reno, came with him. They were gone until well after all the cubs aged into adults, and when eh finally returned with Reno, he returned empty handed. Reno fell back into pride life quite well, however Loke didn't fare so well. Things were rocky with Van, and they still are today. Mariska, Zodiac, and Taika seem to want nothing to do with him. He's trying his best to patch things up with Vanhedra and their children, but its a long, hard road, one he doesn't want to give up on.
