Draw or write about a Kalon having the biggest fright of their October! What scared them?

Using DallinandTamsin

Dallin has lived in the woods most of his life, and this year was his first Halloween to really experience! He went out to visit his friend Tamsin in the city and she taught him all about Halloween, being the sp00py nerd she is. She showed Dallin her witch costume, a cape, hat, and wand, all homemade. Dallin didn't think this the least bit scary, but rather, quite dashing on his friend! Maybe this wouldn't be such a scary experience after all. Dallin loved dressing up and had his own cute costume as well! Well, Tamsin is a great friend, she really is, and maybe she didn't quite realize the consequences of her actions, but she took Dallin, first thing, to a haunted house. She explained how they would go trick-or-treating later, but she wanted to get to the haunted house early to beat the crowds. Dallin had no objections. He was ready to get the activities started! It was still light out when they arrived, and not many people in line. There were some decorations outside the building like spiderwebs and ghost things, and bats. How charming! However, as soon as they entered the building and were enveloped in darkness, Dallin felt his heart beat a little faster. They made their way towards a strobe light, and entered a room made to look like a kitchen with dismembered body parts and lots of knives. Dallin shivered a bit and tried not to think about it. The next room was filled with various mannequins, both realistic and not. Dallin tried not to look at any, but then one started walking towards them!! Dallin held tightly to Tamsin and tried to hurry her along. He kept his eyes shut tight for a few more rooms, despite Tamsin's urgings and gigglings. He could hear creepy laughs and screams and loud clangs. He didn't even want to know what he was missing. Then, Tamsin stopped. Dallin opened his eyes to see what was wrong. They were in what seemed to be an old living room with cobwebs and spiders. Dallin was confused, but Tamsin pulled him in front of her and pushed him through the doorway. "C'mon! we're almost at the end. YOU go first!" Instead of complaining, Dallin just pushed forward through the pitch black hallway. They were almost out. He turned a corner and-"SCREEEEAAAAAMM!!!" A dark figure jumped out screeching! Dallin screamed and dropped to the floor. He was pretty sure Tamsin screamed too, but she also started laughing immediately afterwards. Dallin pushed through the last few hallways with minor decorations and finally they were out. The workers were nice and gave out candy at the end. When they were out, Tamsin started apologizing. "Sorry to put you through that. That was probably a bad decision. We won't go to any more." But Dallin turned to her with a big smile. "Are you kidding?! I loved it! Let's go to some more!"

Using Shane

Shane had dressed up as a sugar skull and had painted his face with fascinating
bright colours and designs. He had been going trick-or-treating, and some
kalons thought his face-paint was so amazing and detailed, they even gave him
extra sweets! He was out late, and didn't come back until around midnight. When
he got in, he was absolutely exhausted and couldn't be bothered wiping the face
paint off. I'll do it in the morning he thought to himself. He put down his
candy-bag on a small mantle place, kicked his shoes off and jumped into bed.
He had a dream that an actual skeleton - that resembled a sugar skull like
skull - had been chasing him about, trying to steal his candy. When he woke
up, it took him a few minutes to calm down. It was so.. life like. he
quietly whispered to himself. He shrugged it off, saying it HAD to be a dream.
He changed clothes, and got out of his room (for once). He went to the bathroom
to brush his teeth, but the shock he got when he looked in the mirror and saw
his face paint. He screamed, thinking his head had been replaced as a skull,
not any old skull, the one from him dream! It took him a few minutes before he
finally remembered that it was just his face paint, and made a sigh of relief.
After washing it off, all he could think about was this dream. It was a crazy
coincidence that he had been wearing face paint that resembled it so closely.

Mauvais had been sitting at the table near her front door all night, cape pulled tightly around her in an effort to stay warm. Everyone person who entered the haunted house got a glowstick to help prevent any getting injured in the low light. Beside the screams and laughs coming from the house, the night had been pretty uneventful and boring. Mauvais had mostly spent the time either zoning out or stealing candy from the table. As some more kids came up, she handed them their glowsticks and sent them in. Looking down, she realized they were out of glowsticks and didn't know where the extras were. Sighing, she got up from her seat and quickly wrote a sign that said "Go on in, out of glowsticks" and placed it on the table before leaving. She figured her mom knew where the extras where, and she was out by the hayride.

Heading out to the field, and rushing because it was freezing, Mauvais glanced around looking for the scarecrow that was her mother. The hayride was out in the field, so Fleur should have been standing around ready to jump out at the next set of people. "Mom, we're out of glowsticks!" she yelled, not seeing anything. Shivering in the cold win, she spun around again, seeing nothing. Fleur must have gotten on the hayride, as her scarecrow costume wasn't exactly good enough to pass as real. Heading back to the house, she was almost through the door when the hooded grim reaper they had placed on the steps reached out and firmly gripped her shoulders. Screaming and whirling around, Mauvais heard her mother's giggling from under the hood. "I came to get some tea and saw you were gone, I re-filled the glowsticks by the way." Fleur said, untangling herself from the decoration and smiling at her terrified daughter.

using Audeline and Violet the Halloween kalon

"What the -" the teenager had no time to finish his sentence as Audeline jumped out and tackled the kalon.
"Shame on you, stealing my whole candy bowl!" She growled and stepped off the kalon and went back to hiding in the bushes.
"But-" the kalon started, and Audeline shushed him. "Fine," he grumbled, and only took 2 candy bars.

She hid in the bushes, but had a feeling that someone was watching her. The feeling was uncomfortable, and she shivered. Suddenly, a kalon jumped out at her! "HELP MEH IM DYING" she yelled, throwing the kalon off.
"Geez, calm down!" The kalon laughed, and she leapt off Audeline. It was Violet, and she started rolling on the ground and crying with laughter.
"Violet!!" Audeline yelled, pinning the kalon to the ground in a friendly playful way. They play-tackled, and got really dirty. "What was that for?!" Audeline smiled and rubbed some dirt out of her fur. They stared up at the stars, and soon enough Violet had to go.
"Bye!" She called, followed by Audeline's voice echoing
"Don't scare me again!"

Marijn contained a shriek when she saw the absence of paperwork on her desk. I left it right here! It was right in the center of my desk! Where is it?! She immediately dropped her bag and dug through the organized folders on her desk. She was very meticulous about how she ordered things, there was no possible way she had mistaken the papers for anything else. They were strictly regarding microbial lifeforms found in seawater from the southern area of the Pacific Ocean. They would not be in anywhere else but the "Microbes in Oceans" under the "Pacific" tab. It simply was not at all possible.
Val continued digging through her desk, trying her best not to absolutely lose it and to keep her files still in their perfect system. She fled to her room, the dining table, the other office, even the living room! "Where are my papers!?" She cried. If she couldn't find them, months of work would be lost. This was extremely important.
Maybe... Maybe I did misplace them in the folders? I couldn't have. A moment passed, Val tamping her foot an the hard wooden floor. In a stressed flurry she half-walked, half-sprinted to the desk again, flying through the folders and their many different sections. It's not here. It's not here.

A wave of despair and and frustration crashed over her, and she slumped into the comfortable desk chair. Pulling at her face with her claws, she groaned. Val lolled her head to the side and stared into space with bleak while thoughts filled her head. It was there, on her wall, did she spot the paper with something pinned to it with a pumpkin tack. A 'frightening' sea monster had been drawn, along with a small note underneath the creature:


Hello, Val! I hope you like my dragon.



Marijn had to stop for a moment and collect herself. So. It had been on the wall the whole time. Right there. Ok. She eyed the doodle attached, and squinted. She knew exactly who's handwriting this was, and wasn't exactly sure whether to feel upset or not.
At least she has the paper. No panic attacks today.

Aria peered down the street. It was dark. It was very, very dark. But she’d been told the best candy was to be found here- and no one could ever be too old for candy.
As she bounced down the pathway in her witch outfit, she wondered where her friends were. They’d said they would meet her here, and they’d all hunt candy together. They would be the bunch of kalons who never, ever grew old, no matter what anyone else told them.
Thinking of all the candy- lollipops and chocolate bars and candy corn, oh my- she almost didn’t hear the rustle in the hedge bordering the path. She froze mid step, a small smile twitching on her face.
“Guys? Is that you?” She didn’t know what they were doing in the hedge, but at least they were here.
The rustling continued. Ari felt strange prickles run up and down her spine, and her happiness evaporated like boiling water. This was a strange feeling to her. Because really, there wasn’t much reason to be scared in everyday life. Well, not for long, anyway.
“Who-who’s there?” Her voice wobbled. She wasn’t very good at dealing with times like this. She was nothing like the heroes and heroines in her favorite romance novels. If this were a novel, right now, she wouldn’t be scared at all. She’d stand her ground and be brave and win the heart of some handsome kalon with her bravery and wittiness.
But alas, she was just Aria. Stupid, scared little Aria.
Aria couldn’t move as the rustles grew louder and louder. Suddenly, a hideous monster burst out of the bushes- rotting flesh, bones showing, and blood everywhere. It was missing an eye, and the other bulged horribly out of its socket. It was reaching dirty green hands for her, making sucking noises like it waned to suck out her very soul. So, she did what any damsel in distress would’ve done.
She screamed, dropped her bucket and ran.
The monster let out a strange laugh as it watched the receding figure of the pink haired kalon. Peeling off the mask, Violet continued to snigger as another kalon appeared from around the hedge.
“Maybe that was a bit too mean.” Amber stared worriedly after Ari. “We do know how gullible she is.”
“Yeah, but we also know how quickly she gets over things.” Violet countered.
“True.” Amber moved forward to pick up the dropped candy bucket. “Now come on.”
Violet tucked her mask under her arm. “Where are we going?”
“Well, she might get over the scare,” Amber replied. With a wry smile, she held up the bucket. “But she’ll never get over losing her candy.”

Mathilda

Paws slightly scuffled and edged away on pavement leading up to the two little cobble steps. Even as a traveler,
explorer, a sightseer of many lands and places, they couldn't ignore the unease creeping up and settling in.

It was a vast, old thing- a crooked castle, a lot of it reduced to rubble and beaten, broken windows, yet it still stood in it's unfathomable pride and terrifying glory. Fog shifted to the feet of the château, almost looking as if it was breathing, roaring
to life with it's ghosty flames. It was large too, perfect to write about- this is why they have traveled ever so far to stand
before it. The journalist, Mathilda as they went by, scanned their warm, yet both bewildered and fearful eyes, amongst it's perimeter. Where would you even begin in a place like this?

It just so happened to be the 31st of October. Ooh, spooky.
With a tentative click and a nudge of the frame, the door creaked to a open ever so painfully slowly, the noise like a drawn
out scream of laughter, before it retreated, and this time a crisp snap could be heard.

Oh bother.
