Prompt: Cerys often sheds a tear or two or three at the thought and sight of change. Walking through a once lush and vivid meadow, filled with blooming flowers, and seeing it now barren and desolate at the end of fall. He hates watching seasonal change chip away at what he loves, but knows it’s inevitable and cyclical. The logical side of his brain grabs a hold of his mental reins and reminds him that the lush springtime will blossom once again. Then the illogical side regains control of his mental reins and floods his mind with visualizations of warm, vibrant spring days. Running through the meadows filled with wildflowers. More permanent change has a larger effect on him, causing him to sob and be more inconsolable for longer periods of time. Not just seeing it initially, but revisiting the site and reminiscing on what once was there and all of the memories associated with that place that has now been forcibly changed makes him tear up. It's harder for either side of his brain to gain control of his mental reins during this time. Cerys hates change but knows it's inevitable in many cases. He has to come to terms with it on his own time. Don’t turn on Landslide by Fleetwood Mac unless you want to turn on his waterworks.

Prompt:

Grapefruit takes a lot of pride in his herbal knowledge. Anytime a ‘quid is complaining of a tummyache, a scrape, or even just nerves— Grapefruit is the one to go to for advice. He really values being able to provide for his herdmates in this way. Knowing that the others trust him to make them feel better is really important to him, because he was teased a lot as a foal, and struggled with his sense of belonging.

Although his dedication to his craft makes him very knowledgeable, it also leaves him easily offended when somebody doesn’t take his advice. Or even worse— gasp— they take HUMAN medicine instead! When a ‘quid would rather take a silly pill instead of chewing on some willow bark, that is the rudest insult Grapefruit ever faces.

He is embarrassed that he cries when frustrated, but he cries because he is afraid to go back to that lonely place when he was a foal and didn’t belong anywhere. He is scared that if he can’t provide for his herd, through his calling of medicine, then they won’t need him anymore.

Prompt: While it would not take much to set Orpheus off, one thing that always tends to bring a tear to his eye is nostalgia. Any kind of nostalgic feeling or thought just connects with him in a certain way. The fondness and longing for a time he can no longer be present in is just something that sits funnily in his chest. Not in a heavy or uneasy way, but more so in a... bittersweet way. It's the mix of both acceptance and of denial. His memories are a home he knows best, and to linger with them for any amount of time makes him a little emotional.
