Opening the lemonade stand one final time, just felt right to Burst. Summer was coming to a end and they didn’t want to stop sharing their love and smiles with their neighbors. Who some would be returning back home or leaving to visit their chicoon families who didn’t move to the beachside. As handing a cup of lemonade to a chicoon, a whelp came up giggling and stood on the tip of their paws trying to reach the stand’s counter. Burst giggled, but quickly came out from behind the stand and sat down.
“Little one I will take your order here.”, they said as the whelp honked in joy.
Placing the chicoins they had bought over, they told Burst they wanted two lemonades. Smiling, Burst took only one chicoin and went behind their stand. Gathering the two lemonades, they returned to the little whelp who was waiting patiently. Burst handed one lemonade to them and offered to carry the other for them. The whelp flapped their tiny head wings as thanks.
Following the whelp, the two soon came upon the mother who seemed stressed. As soon as seeing her whelp, her head wings perked up and worry gone. But the mother spotted Burst and they could see the uneasiness on her face. The mother welcomed them though and gave a look at her whelp. Burst knew the look. They smiled and cleared their throat to make the whelp look at them. They motioned to the lemonade with their tail. With that the little one nodded and handed his mother the lemonade they had bought. The mother took the drink and looked at Burst, who had given the other lemonade to the little whelp. She smiled and took a drink of the sour drink. The mother’s tail swished back and forth from the souriness.
Laughter..well honking came from both Burst and the whelp, who watched as the mother chicoon hid her face with her tail. Burst soon told them goodbye and headed back to their stand. Enjoying small moments like that, that can bring chicoons together is enough reason for Burst to want to keep their lemonade stand open as long as possible before the cold hits. Togetherness is important to Burst.
