May the wind lift my wings,
and the day break the night,
as my heart strongly sings
for that which catches the light.

I love the way they conspire,
the soft whispers of the wind,
to lead me farther and higher,
away from that which is dimmed.
There is not a place too far,
too hidden from my eyes,
where what shines like a star
could be lost to disguise.
They glitter and they gleam,
these treasures I covet;
not always what they seem,
my heart cries I love it, I love it.

A nest is nothing without glamour,
my heart croons to my mind;
perhaps glass pebbles, designed to enamor,
which deserve to be admired in kind.
Or maybe the ribbons dancing in the sky,
their soft sparkles shedding;
how perfect, I sigh,
to be laced in my bedding.
Sitting before my nest,
I cannot believe the odds,
that I, unlike the rest,
have finery befitting the gods.

Yet more than gemstones,
and jewelry, and gold,
are the memories etched in my very bones,
treasures which can never be lost or sold.
Eyes sparkling brighter than diamonds,
I live to see them smile and trill;
with a laugh like a sirens,
beckoning me closer still.
Hair glinting under the summer sun,
I hope these memories never fade;
days marked by joy and fun,
when the light overpowers the shade.
