What's happened? | I was heading to the office to ask about tomorrow's menu or something of the other. Yet, when the door opened, it was truly like a scene right before a train wreck. The office was terribly messy, though that is understandable from the hectic rush of the new year party.
An was balanced precariously on a small wooden stool trying to replace a light bulb. He did successfully replace the bulb but the old bulb fell onto a shelf where it rolled across it, ping ponged between the heavier weights and knocked over a frame. It was too hard to look away and stop these collisions so the spectators looked on as the frame dropped onto a stapler left on a side counter, that did happen to staple a few sheets of paper haphazardly together. The frame doubly knocked over a poorly balanced stack of files that had a mug on top. And for the final grand move, the mug split everywhere but carried a scrunched up paper ball into the recycling bin and that was that.
An (who had stepped down from his stool) and I (still in the doorway) applauded the defacto Goldberg machine, but then looked at the mess it made. It was an entertaining way to create a mess and I forgot the exact question I was supposed to ask, but there were more pressing problems to get to. Luckily, it was after hours and at least the paper ball is one less thing to clean?
