xxxx M o r n i n g ;;
xxxx I awoke gently to the
early morning sun, the cold breeze
hung in the air around me from the
stillness of the night. The memory of
the burning red star quickly came forth
from the back of my mind. I steadfastly
dressed, waking Myopia and Frisk along
with my bumble. <What's going on?> I
gently patted Myopia as they stretched
a few inches above the ground. I stared
intensely, still fascinated by their levitating
abilities. I was then snapped back by a
prod to my side. [Answer them] a sharp
tongue hissed in my mind. "Ah, yes well
remember that falling star last night? We
are going to go and see if it is a catharsis
star so we may start unlocking your
potential Myopia." The little Floc's tail
flicked and ears stood at attention.
<Like Frisk?> They asked gleefully in my
headspace. "Yes, exactly." I answered,
reassuring myself that what we saw was
indeed a star. -> go to Falling

xxxx"I swear it landed here,"
I muttered in disappointment. "Do you
guys sense anything?" I looked expectantly
at my flox, hoping their heightened psychic
senses would assist. I didn't understand
them completely but I knew they could
'see' more than I that way. Myopia was
sniffing at a clump of grass and Frisk was
sitting back staring off into the woods.
<Well, I do smell something odd but not
a star.> [Its over in that cave.] Frisk half
interrupted, pointing towards a small
opening in the earth. Ever since Frisk's
catharsis they have been much more
perceptive of their surroundings, I noted
to put that in my book later for the research
team. Frisk briskly lead the way towards the
darkened cave. Stopping outside, I gingerly
poked my head into the cavity allowing my
eyes time to adjust. Looking around I saw
nothing out of the usual until some faint
movement caught my eye. "IT'S A FLOC" I
whisper-yelled, yanking my head out of the
cavern. "What do we do?" I turned, round-eyed
to stare at my floc. Myopia gently giggled
while Frisk put their head in-between their paws.
"What's so funny?" I asked, a little defensively.
<When you met us, what did you do?> Myopia
questioned while Frisk rolled their eyes.
[Not panic that's for sure] Relaxing I looked
back on my first meetings, how clumsy I was
and how easily I could've scared them off.
"You guys are right, do we wanna befriend
them?" <I don't see why not, we can assist
their awakening too!> Myopia stated, excitedly.
[I'll wake them, my aura is the strongest here.]

xxxxThe cold that has
surround me for so long suddenly grew
warmer. The heat became immeasurable
then before I knew it, I was once again
levitating. The new smells, sounds, and
auras flooded my 'new' and old senses.
I tentatively strode forward, cautiously
testing the new surroundings. Had my
other brethren made it this far? Am I all
alone? I 'called' out searching for a connection.
Nothing seemingly called back. Another
thought derailed my current mission, my
key. Where is it? Did I drop it on the fall?
Did the corruption inside me take it while
I was overwhelmed? No, that's silly.
Shaking my head I pushed out more of my
aura, feeling my surroundings in hopes of
finding, well, 'me'. After a few long strides
I found it in a chilly opening of a sturdy
formation. Floating in, I gingerly retrieved
my key, sensing an eerie emptiness. Laying
length wise I felt exhaustion sweep me, of
course such a tiny frame would require such
maintenance. I heaved a sigh, 'calling' out one
more time before resting to recover. <- go to Found

xxxxA strong prod to my side awoke me from
the deep sleep that I chased. I blurrily
stared into the bright opening, curious as
to what awoke me. As my vision adjusted I
saw two similar faces staring back at me. Flox!
They made it here, I'm not alone after all. I
giddily strode forward, my excitement
overflowing. {Hello!} I halted shortly after,
sensing another unknow aura. I quickly flared
my aura, brining my fox fire tighter around me.
{What are you} I hissed out. "Hello, my name is
Fall," They eyed my fox fire. "I am the keyholder
to the two flox you see before you. This is Frisk
and Myopia." <Hello~> [Hey]. The strange being
greeted me and my brethren followed.
{I don't understand.} I said stumbling backward.
<Here on E-arth> [Earth...] "I prefer E-arth honestly,
sorry Frisk." The small squabble continued as I tried
to wrap my mind around what was happening.
{Just....just give me a moment} Feeling flustered
I centered myself. Smelling food near by, I floated
over to it as my audience watched patiently.
Absorbing the reddish-pink drupelets auras I also
feasted, loving the newfound taste. {What are these?}
I asked the closest one, Myopia perhaps.
<Those are what we call Raspberries. Right Fall?>
"Spot on, good eye Myopia." {Okay so why do you
follow, Fall?} They quickly nodded {Fall around?}
[Fall is helping us to awaken, allowing us to be closer
to our original forms. As you can see I have already
gone through Catharsis and Myopia is on their way as
well. Fall is an interesting Keyholder, to say the least,
and will teach you everything they can and help you
as much as possible. The research team they work
with also aides in all of this but it is up to the
Keyholder to awaken us.] I listened to the
explanation, interested in their ability
to awaken us, do they also have psychic powers? I
searched their aura once more finding them lacking
in that capability. {Okay so its like one big scavenger
team yea?} <Exactly! But much more fun and lifelong,
for Fall that is, sorry> Myopia turned to Fall tilting
their head while they just smiled brightly back at them.
"Yup, so what do you say? Wanna join our team?"
I contemplated the risks and rewards, being close to
my kind and awakening were pretty high on there,
giving my key to a stranger... not so much. After a
few minutes I gently sighed. {Alright, I'll join you all}
Fall and Myopia lit up in excitement while Frisk nodded
in acknowledgement. "Wonderful! We will most definitely
discuss the non-heat producing fire you have later but for now,
as we have all been waiting, I already have a name for you!
Your original name isn't pronounceable for me unfortunately
but I have a fitting replacement for here on Earth. How about
Pennantia baylisiana? The rarest tree on Earth, considering
you are covered in trees and such a rare find! We can call
you Pen for short through because it is a mouthful haha."
Though it was quite a name in comparison to my original
I did enjoy the shorthand, Pen. I nodded sharply in response.
{I do enjoy that, Pen} I said 'aloud'.

first off i just want to thank everyone who entered for your time, effort, and patience !
i apologize for the delay in judging, but i was finally able to sit down and read + look through everyone's forms thoroughly c:
you guys put effort into your forms so i want to make sure im fully appreciating them =v=

@jasps - the animations you drew of ezra are so cute and smooth-- they definitely added life to your form and i loved it !! i also quite enjoyed the playlist, the three songs gave me ambient noise-like vibes and were overall very calm and relaxing.

@midnight tails - oh man, the feels. while reading your well written story, i felt i was really able to get an idea of haldir's personality. it was all fun and cute until i got to the "time marches on" section, where my heart dropped realizing what (probably) happened to their human friend. when the song got to the "daijoubu" part i was like ;-; is it really okay?? is it really fine--? TT i also love how you began and ended with "im still waiting for you." //my heart asdfgh

@kveykva - your choice for angakkuq's theme song was really interesting to me, it made me wonder if it was chosen because the locals believe them to be cursed when they really are not––as they only seek to help those in need (maybe i got this wrong but regardless, loved the choice!). anyways, upon finishing your story, my first thought was "wow." your final sentence had a big impact and added to the overall finality of the story, which was beautifully written. definitely got goosebumps because of "locked with a key of suffering." ;-;

@westsparrow - this,,, really warmed my heart ;v; just imagining the floc trying to help a lost puppy by leading them through the woods with their foxfire is too cute *insert pleading face emoji*. also, the animated piece is so well done !! and the other piece in the dimly lit forest really gave me a feel and picture of the story's setting. everything in the story flowed well and it was an enjoyable read =v=

@mesmer - i got such wintery but also warm vibes from your moodboard ! O: it is also really nice how it reflects what phosphorous enjoys.

@irockwaffleking - theyre so mysterious o.o and your playlist definitely reflected that. the first song's lyrics really conveyed the misty forests (the lyrics are definitely a wow), and although i couldnt understand the lyrics of the last song, the sound of it really wrapped the entire playlist up nicely.

@jantzi01 - your moodboard definitely gave me like.. traveling-around-the-world-and-seeing-its-wonders kind of vibes !! super cool. your playlist played into that as well, as i felt a got a splash of a few different genres that are all great in their own way.

@little fish - wow o: your form's coding and structure made me feel like i was actually there––navigating the world with fall, frisk, and myopia and running into pen. i really enjoyed moving from section to section in your form, and your choice of using different brackets for each character was really helpful in reading !! the art is super well drawn but on top of that the interactions between the flox + fall were super cute, and i definitely got a feel of their personalities/how they would interact with each other cx
