Cleary is a historian. Not only does he study the history of Nuncorbis (my kalon world; still in development) but also mythology and folklore. He loves to learn about ancient myths and interpreting the lessons they hold. Though he doesn't believe that the folklore and mythology stories are "true". He thinks they have all have a reasonable explanation if you look hard enough. Cleary relishes in finding historical documents and artifacts and piecing together the mysteries of the past. He is a strong believer in learning from past mistakes and how it will benefit the future.

When he isn't working, he is usually out camping practicing living off the land and how to survive with only handmade tools. He mostly keeps to himself and is extremely independent, feeling the need to prove to others that he is capable of doing everything on his own. Though he doesn't feel a strong need to be friends with everyone; he does develop deep connections with a small number of other kalons.

At least it doesn't on any maps he has, and he keeps meticulous records and updates his information regularly. On this island, he discovers a lone kalon, Isla. She is utterly captivating to Cleary. She shows him every detail of the island, ecstatic to finally have someone else to interact with.

Prompt: zoo mustelidae caretaker [ 745 words ] [ art is by myself ]

it was more of a story of fate than fortune in rowan's eyes when he met the amazing mustelidae that he loves and cherishes now more than ever, one year later from the date they met. rowan is currently a full-time worker at the High-Hills Zoo, which is a center that takes care of exotic animals about 20 minutes away from where he lives in his apartment. rowan has always loved the concept of caring for animals. growing up in japan for the first 5 years of his life, he was very much immersed in the every day life of a little kid who loves the thought of going to zoos and adventuring around the world. although he could not do such things since his family was rather poor, so when he had the chance to study abroad when he turned 18, he took the chance as fast as he could. he loved the idea of working in a zoo, as that passion since he was a kid has never really truly gone away. he started off as just a general custodian and information booth specialist. cleaning up after hours and giving information packets to those who wanted a map or more data on the animals. then he slowly but surely after two years of working at High-Hills, got up the ladder and found himself being pulled towards working as a keeper for the zoo animals. it was very touch and go for a while, he cared for many animals over a one year period, but none of them were creatures he could necessarily connect to, or creatures who could connect to him either. that was, until he met red rose, jumper, and dumpster. it was like love at first meet honestly for them.

he didn't know for sure at first, he had jumped from position to position. first with the big cats, who didn't seem to like his tiger-like fur markings and color much at all and thought he was some sort of climbing tree. then the apes, who just threw food at him. then the snakes, which honestly, is probably one of his biggest fears on the face of the earth so that was a big no for him. and now here he was, being introduced to the three mustelidae whom he was supposed to now care for. he didn't know if it was because of his 'face-mask' markings, or just the kindness that he showed jumper, red rose (whom he called rose), and dumpster, but they connected with him as soon as they met him.

red rose was the most affectionate out of the three. she was a pale-colored red panda that seemed to have a sort of melanin deficiency that caused her colors to be a bit dimmer than some red pandas. red was a sweet red panda and very loving. she nuzzled his face right away and eventually even coaxed dumpster to come up and say hello to the new keeper. dumpster was the wariest of the three. he was a standard raccoon, though his right ear was ripped to shreds in what rowan could only imagine was some sort of fight that he got into. dumpster and red were pared together as they were found, and raised together as babies. they have always been connected ever since, with red putting grumpy dumpster into his place whenever he acts moody and dumpster bringing out a calming and affectionate side in red. they stayed in the same enclosure due to the fact that if separated, they tended to get back separation anxiety.

last but not least, rowan met jumper. jumper was a young male ring-tail 'cat'. also known as a 'civet-cat' or a 'miner's cat'. although not cats, a very closely related to raccoon's, you would be mistaken by how loving jumper is. he was a big skittish at first, not really liking to be around dumpster and red so the workers often kept him away from them in fear of a fight between the three species, though he has come around a bit since he has met rowan. often enough, jumper is the one that rowan typically has sitting on his shoulder or walking along his arms to give informational speeches to the visitors that come there since he is a rather mellow mustelidae.

rowan will always remember this day for the rest of his life. as these three animals are the highlight to his every day and will always be.
