Not only calm, but as silent as a graveyard, Llyr's friends sometimes find him sitting in the back, either watching others and flashing a friendly smile when they notice him, or just spacing out.
There are multiple reasons for this: for one, he rarely gets enough sleep. Not because he has insomnia, but because he just simply has too much stuff in his head; wanting to find out the meaning of life, scientific reasons for things, theories of multiple universes, etc.
Then, there's him sparing his energy. Staying calm means storing energy, right? He won't do things he sees no reason for doing and won't join conversations if he doesn't feel like talking. Even if he's there, he listens because he's curious, but why comment if you can't add anything useful?
Even though he usually bottles up his anger and stress, he knows how to vent the best way possible (for him). He's an artist, and as a way to get his bad feelings out of his system is creating art (be it sculping or drawing) that's creepy and eerie; he says "This way, I give my worst feelings a body. Like taking the bad parts out of me and let them heal while I recreate those parts with clay or ink. It helped me through tough times."

Kagome was a middle school "normal" girl and had an awful group of friends who influenced her to be a bully. She would always boss around kids and always got the kids who retaliated against her in trouble. When Kagome got older she realized that this wasn't her true self, she didn't like making the other kids cry or make them feel bad. Kagome decided to ditch her friend group and try to meet new people. It was a big struggle at first since she was well known as the school bully, but one day a new girl came and this was Kagome's chance to redeem herself. She became friends with the new girl and decided to hang out more, she was less talkative and had no confidence anymore. A year passed by and Kagome was not known as a bully anymore and she lives a peaceful life now.

Iris sat down at her small desk. The room was dim, lit only by the light of the candle sitting upon the wooden surface. No light filtered through the grime-covered window, as the usual darkness had settled over the city of Haelmith.

She briefly glanced out the window. She could see nothing beyond the darkened glass. She let took a deep breath, before picking up the pen next to her. She quietly pulled a piece of paper towards her. The ink-smudged tip paused, poised above the paper, before Iris began to write.

Dear Beryl,

I hope this finds you in good health. I have rarely seen you these days, since the curfew Mithael imposed prevents me from sneaking to visit you. With my work taking up most of the day, I barely have time for myself, much less to spend with you.

These dark times have been taxing. The Overseer expects us to work all day on the Mayor's new project. I return home sore every night. As much as I love it, I wish I could have a day of rest.

Despite the stress I experience during the day, I find myself at peace during these night hours. The stillness, the lack of noise in the city, really puts me at ease. I'm almost glad that there's no noise to distract me. I sometimes sneak onto the roof, where I can see the stars. Unfortunately, the new factories produced so much smoke, I can barely see past the clouds.

It's disheartening. I wish we could move beyond the walls of this city, out to the country, where I could properly breath for once. Mithael still refuses to let anyone leave, or let anyone enter the city.

But I find myself at peace. Despite the terror, I feel calm.

It may seem surprising in this state. However taxing, I still enjoy my work. I still do what I love. And at night, when I find myself on the roof, I can sometimes catch a glimpse of the stars.

Maybe true peace is not a calm life. It's about finding those quiet hours in the all the chaos. Those times of peace when things get hard. I know it was something you always struggled with, cousin. But we must stay calm, and have hope that things will get better.
