Edarius always had a love for magic. Whether it be things you hear of from books, or going to watch magic shows when he was younger. This later inspired him to become a close up magician, with a particular fascination with cards. But one day, it all went wrong...

He was out and about late at night in the city, coming back from a show he had done. But he was jumped by someone who had attempted to steal his earnings from that night. Edarius had panicked, letting his instincts kick in. Before he knew it, flames burst from his paws, burning his robber badly.

In one night, he had gone from being a normal card magician to a suspect in assault, all while learning he could control fire. He thought he could trust the love of his life with this information, but he was very wrong. She turned on him, resulting in Edarius burning all he had in a burning rage, blinded by loss and confusion.

Now, the only things he has left are the clothes on his back and a single deck of cards.

Bio
Nellie Marvin is a kalon without a story, she has none to tell.
She has horrible social anxiety, and so she stays at home a lot since going anywhere is really hard for her. She is incurious, unless it either relates to her past or the magical, and doesn't mind anything besides new people.
She spends her time usually learning about demons and angels. She believes they are linked to her past, so she studies what could be the link. She has a collection of books relating to the topic, and she has marked almost every book with notes on if the certain part shows up in another book, or could be disproved by another book. She has a real knack for taking notes.
Because of this certain curiosity, she's summoned a few demons before. Nothing happened, really, besides a few near-death experiences, but that's besides the point.

She has a running theory that she's a fallen angel, but she still isn't sure, even though she definitely is.

Besides her angelic or demonic likes, she's pretty normal. She grows roses to sell at a farmers market on the weekends, where someone runs her stand for a bit of pay while she hangs aside.
She also has enough time between growing roses and reading about demons and angles to be writing a book about demons and angles. It her personal, favorite book, and no one has seen the wonders, or horrors, of it's contents.
She'd like it to stay that way.

Bio: Rhys is a fangless vampire- which, in his opinion, is a good thing because he can’t stand the idea of drinking blood of any sort and is rather content with the reality that should his body ever have a reaction beyond his control, he isn’t likely to cause anyone any harm. Instead, Rhys’ diet mainly consists of any flowers he collects during his travels and the honey that he harvests from the beehive nestled up in the corner of his wagon.

Rhys is also a traveler, explorative but constantly treating various marketplaces like his home base. Originally, he’d been a messenger-bird caretaker, but since he ended up overly attached to most his birds and had a hard time sending them off, he lost his job. When Rhys left his work, he took with him several doves and pigeons that he had spoiled horrendously until they’d ended up completely dependent on him as a companion.

Without much of a goal in life other than to keep himself and his birds alive, Rhys merely wanders the countryside and mountains in search of new adventures. He isn’t really interested in “going off the beaten path” on his own and is more looking forward to some strange event that will inevitably occur and forcibly drag him into an exciting quest that will eventually be written down in the history books as a tear in fate’s design and --. Until then, Rhys is content to wander and relax a bit with his birds.

As long as Deirdre could remember, she was the last of her kind.

There were plenty of other creatures she knew of, some with deft paws and tall necks and others with long, thin tails and bodies. Some of them spoke to her, though in languages she couldn’t understand. She longed to speak to them in her own language, but she never could, so she listened patiently. They were rather friendly, in their own indescribable way.

Her home was a cave, painted in stone-colored dyes. They created symbols that she thought represented long-lost sounds, and pictures of creatures as strange and unique as she was. Sometimes, she swore she saw the painted shapes move.

In one painting, she saw an image of herself reflected in the dyes. A perfect replica—except for the addition of lines like stitches across her mouth.
