Roan practically grew up in the forest. Born and raised among sequoia trees and towering oaks. The forest and wildlife were their happy place. They earned their nickname Roanoke for the amount of times they almost went missing while exploring the woods outside their house.With exploration came a love for arts and crafts. Creating things out of blown glass, sticks, twigs, and various nick-nacks found on long adventures. Sometimes it was just as simple as weaving something small, or taking thumbtacks to decorate their treehouse with leaves. Inspiration always came in the most unexpected of ways. The one sudden sunny day, Roan started to create terrariums. Ways to ship out their little piece of home to various Kalons around the world, decorated with real leaves and twigs from the woods. Suddenly feeling trapped in the forest that they'd lived in all their life, Roan was struck with an idea. How about traveling worldwide?

Soil is awesome, plants are awesome, no matter what you say, throwing myself into the soil is one of the best parts (even though my dad gets mad at me, oops!). Ever since I was small, the only thing I'd do all day was inspect all these little creatures chilling around the backyard of my dad's greenhouse. I always wondered where they lived, what they did. My dad would tell me, and answer all my questions. My dad was the one who started the love of nature, and did the same things as me. He even named me after a cricket! I honestly like the idea of him bringing a hobby to me I can share. I love talking to people about it.One of my favourite places to go is the forest. I've made friends with a few rabbits, and little toads. I study the ways they whiz around the forest.
Who knows? I would be cool to be a scientist studying the nature of our world everyday. I hope I can get there!

Sunlight just barely filtered in through the cracks in the blinds facing the woods adjacent to Antheias room. Despite the tinted windows beneath the curtains the light would have to penetrate first, it always found its way in. His slanted eyed peered longingly from his spot only a few feet away from the glass, his paws itching to just reach over and pull the curtains aside and duel the sun himself. He could feel his skin burning at the thought of it, though he’d never really gone outside enough to experience it. But who was he, to challenge the sun to what may very well be a battle to the death. Just one stare from the bane of his existence, and Antheia was certain he would find himself combusting. Although, it would be worth combusting a million times over just to experience the dazzling rays flitting across his skin at least once.

His paws grasped the sides of the curtains. He couldn’t do this... Or could he? With a newfound surge of confidence, he counted to three, then threw back his blinds, and pushed open the window in a few quick movements. Eyelashes fluttering closed, he let his eyes adjust to the blinding light. He waited a few minutes, eyes still shut, and let the sunlight devour his unarmed skin. But when he could finally will himself to open his eyes again to see all the damage done, he found no sores on his arms, no burnt flesh on his legs. Nothing. It was as though he’d never really been allergic at all.

Prompt Response -- Ivy clung to the sides of his room as a young boy, holding
tight to the worn red brick and never letting go. Perhaps it held on through sheer force of will, there
certainly didn’t seem to be any other way it could have held on so very tight for so very long.

Perhaps it was the ivy that helped him gain such a strong grasp on the world, and perhaps it was the
ivy that inspired him to climb the trees at first, finding twigs in his fur in the evenings. Perhaps it was
the ivy that persuaded him to climb the rockwalls at friends birthday parties- timidly at first and then
with a quiet confidence in his limbs, for if the ivy could do it so could he.

Perhaps it was the trees or the rockwall that inspired him to aim higher, or perhaps it was the ivy
with it’s quiet appeal still clinging to the wall outside of the bedroom he’d inhabited as a child.

The humble ivy, he knew, inspired him to ignore what others deemed impossible. Although, perhaps
