Prompt; Nirox lived near the cave when he was younger, and usually stayed away from it. After straying away from the village and seeing shiny things in the cave, he began to collect the rocks. Many people liked the pretty rocks he found, but after seeing it was from the cave, they scolded him for going in it alone. After all, it's dark in a cave, and many monsters love to lurk there. Many local legends and fairytales originated there, and legends tend to have a shred of truth in it, no matter how warped it gets as the story is passed down.
When he was older Nirox made a living, going into the cave and finding gems and precious stones. Little did he know, he had disturbed an ancient marking, that had sealed a powerful vampire that was severely weakened. Seeing a perfectly good host, the vampire latched on to him, changing his blue eyes to red, and morphed his tail shine from a blue spiral to a red mark with seemingly jagged fangs, reflected his half-vampire status as well as the cave the vampire was previously sealed in.
Now, Nirox couldn't exactly walk into the sunlight anymore without getting severely sunburned, and he couldn't just tell his family or friends about this new development. He had resigned himself to stay in the cave during the day, and traveling to the neighboring village that had a nighttime market, instead of going to his old one.
He swore he just heard someone enter the cave. It just had to be, those repeated noises couldn't be water, could they? It most certainly didn't sound like it. Wait, yes, it was footfalls! But who would dare to enter this dark and foreboding place? Surely not someone sane. It must be a mouse. Nobody sane would enter this place! Well, unless they banished someone here. That would make sense. I mean, a dark and terrible place like this would be perfect for a prisoner or criminal. He kept hearing the footsteps get closer and closer. And now he could see a light! Right now he was hiding, should he stay here? I mean, this might be a far deadlier monster than a half-vampire anyway. Or maybe it was a vampire hunter. To his surprise, a normal looking Kalon stood there, with a torch looking around. They didn't have any stakes on them (that he could see), just a sword strapped on to a piece of leather, which also supported a first aid kit and a canteen with another torch. Well, at least this Kalon was sensible enough to not go in unprotected.
But now what did he do? Call out, or stay hidden? But, what if this Kalon got lost? Or encountered something worse than him? He didn't want to end up finding some poor Kalons bones in the cave! Or worse, whatever monster he encounter coming after him. Deciding it would be wise to urge him out of the cave he called out.
"Who are you? And why are you here? Don't you know it's dangerous to travel alone in a dark cave like this?"
