A sweet female Kalon appears from among a row of tulips, her fur covered in petals and leaves. She stares at you with a smile and skips over to you, a bright red tulip in her grasp. "Hello stranger! Welcome to Shimmer Farms! I'm Bridget, but most call me Birdie." She stares off into the distance, the wind blowing through her mane. "Holland is a beautiful place, isn't it? The windmills. The colored tulip fields. The people. It's all so perfect! I mainly love the tulips, as you can see by my many acres of fields. I usually sell them, but this year I chose to keep them because they bring me so much happiness. You can have a few I suppose..." She stares at you with uncertainty as she watches you grab a fresh tulip. "Nevermind, you can't have any! Please leave, I'm afraid you've been here too long already!" She snatches the flower from your paws and pushes you away, fighting back tears. Perhaps there's more to her than just her love for tulips and Holland... You may never know now, though. Maybe she will reveal more of her if you ever choose to speak again...

You'd hardly even notice it at first glance. The visage is nice; beautiful even. Foliage litters the terrain; trees extend from every angle and vines wrap around every object in sight. Together, they frame the waterfall perfectly. A natural beauty. The water cascades down onto the rocks below, the impact spraying the foliage with a refreshing mist, before the liquid is carried off into the stream it leads into. You'd think that this is the sight; the place where the magic happens. No, look closer.

Behind the waterfall is a cave. It's mouth is positioned just behind where the water rushes down into the stream. You'd have to have been studying these falls for a while to notice it. That or, just so happen to be either tumbling down or through the falls to get there. An obscure place.

In truth, there isn't even much there. The cave is quite shallow; just a slight dip in the rock face. There's nothing in it, save for a few scuttling lizards. It's drab. Ordinary. Yet there's still something about it. Nothing physical of course, but... Mental. Spiritual.

After all, it just so happens to be the one place where you're at peace.

cali's favorite place is easily the ocean. its gorgeousness, its salty smell and everything in between are things that she loves. it's been her safe spot since she was a little one, she was there with her mom and dad once a week. when her parents passed, she continued to visit the beach once a week to continue the tradition. visiting the beautiful place is her favorite time of the week, and when she has spare time she goes a second time. if she could, she'd be there 24/7 without a doubt.

cali's favorite thing to do is watch the underwater creatures. she always brings a scuba mask with her so she can spend more time watching them without having to go above water to catch a breath. besides watching the fascinating underwater animals, cali enjoys basking in the sun on the shore and soaking up all the sunshine. if she's not doing either of those things, she's watching all the other kalons enjoy themselves as she loves seeing others happy.

the quiet place, [ 200 ]

plant nursery is my favorite place to go and just be by myself. i discovered it in my back yard when i moved into my new house, an old shaggy looking shed that just looked sad and slumped in the corner of the the back yard, hidden behind some thick vines. i was told an old lady who had lived there before me used it as a plant nursery but since she got ill she could no longer visit it. so i took it into my own hands to redo the entire nursery. now it's like my second home. i placed planters a long the walls and keep little jars for plants to grow in near the window, mainly small plants and mosses. my favorite to grow is mint as it makes the whole shed smell cozy and fresh, i've made it my place of study as well as relaxation when i'm feeling stressed. i've hung a hammock up where i placed the small porch, to look out at the rest of my yard. when i have nothing else to do i love to lay in it and read a book or simply take a nap. it's my happy place.

Where the first step is the easiest, for the first moments he was light in each step and joyous with each breath, but paws will become leaden soon, and he would be careful not to let his mind succumb to sloth and bitterness; it would then, he believed, taint the koi's transcendence.
