personality ;;Mur is a fairly meek and quiet child with a big heart and a strong will. He finds more comfort in solitude and silence than around others, but doesn't mind being around his siblings when the time is right. Despite this, he is always the first to offer help to his family if he thinks he can do it, whether it be hanging up a picture frame or trying to fix a bike; he'll give it a go in order to help out. He can be pretty stubborn in situations though, especially if his parents say no to him doing something. Mur is quite curious and wants to understand the world around him, finding extreme joy in asking those around him why something happens, why people do what they do, or why he can't go play with his friends when he has homework to do. He also enjoys seeing how frustrated he can make others when he asks why. Mur can struggle with taking things for himself, especially when those around him say that he's earned it. He much prefers giving the last cookie to one of his siblings than eat it himself, or letting someone else take the praise for something he'd done. This is mainly because he doesn't like conflict, but he also doesn't want anyone to think that he's stuck-up or arrogant.
Similar to his brother Anderson, Mur enjoys writing, but prefers to write scripts to act out in front of his family. He doesn’t tend to get his siblings involved as he doesn’t want to bore them with his tales, but knows that his parents will enjoy whatever he puts on, even if it’s just by himself. He has a particular interest in Shakespeare, even though he doesn’t understand anything that’s happening. He finds the language used fascinating, with all the ‘thou’s and ‘thee’s and so on, but is too scared to include anything like that into his own scripts in fear of using the language incorrectly. In his spare time, he enjoys watching videos explaining Shakespeare’s plays, specifically cartoons targeted at small children such as himself, so that he can better understand what’s going on.
relationships ;;papa arloMur and Arlo are pretty close, mainly due to Mur following in his father’s footsteps in terms of outdoor activities, especially hiking. He looks up to his father especially when he’s having problems with others at school, targeting Arlo’s occasional grumpiness in making bullies and other mean children go away. The two do tend to butt heads when Arlo gets grumpy, but the child finds comfort in knowing that everyone can disagree at some points in their lives. Mur doesn’t fully understand nor know about Arlo’s childhood in great detail, but he always enjoys listening to any stories that his father wants to tell. Unlike some of his siblings, he doesn’t particularly enjoy pranking his father, though he is the source of majority of Mur’s ‘why?’ questions, and he does take joy in annoying him in this way. mama mittensMittens is Mur’s go-to comforter. Her kind nature is something he takes great comfort in being around, and she’s always the one to pick him up when he falls down. He puts a lot of faith into his mother knowing that she’s making the right decisions for him, even when he wants to go play and she says no. He loves spending quiet time with Mittens, and greatly enjoys her guiding him in his school work. Whilst Mur goes to his father for lessons in being more forceful with bullies than he usually is, he gravitates towards his mother in lessons in how to be more compassionate towards others, and how to forgive them when they do something to hurt his feelings. Overall, he could never imagine having someone any less generous and any less kind as his mother. (139/200)
big bro aikenMur finds himself looking at Aiken as a role model almost as much as his parents. He greatly admires his brother’s studious nature and love for tribal history, even if he isn’t all too interested in it himself. He sometimes finds himself just sitting with Aiken and attempting to ‘help’ him with his work. Which is fairly annoying, seeing as Mur’s just a small child, but he tries his hardest. He tends to respect Aiken too much to ask too many ‘why’ questions, but instead finds himself asking his older brother about his work more than anything. He has a bad habit of pinching any and all of Aiken’s books to read, even though he doesn’t understand what’s going on most of the time. (124/200)
big bro aceMur and Ace don’t get on too well, mainly due to their massive personality clash. The younger child loves his brother very dearly, but doesn’t fully understand why someone would get so much joy out of pranking others. Sometimes he doesn’t even thank that they’re related with how different they are. Mur does enjoy spending time with Ace when he’s not pranking others because he can be good company, but if given the choice he’d probably pick someone else to hang out with. Mur has been the butt of many pranks done by Ace, and he’s generally okay with it until it goes too far. He can become fairly annoyed with Ace’s loud nature due to how quiet he is, but manages, because, after all, they are family. (128/200)
bro andersonMur loves Anderson’s worlds and stories: simple. He loves the detail that his brother puts into them, whether it be through playing around with his family or writing it down. He has a great admiration for his brother’s imagination, and loves when Anderson makes him the star of the show. However, similar to Ace, he can become quickly annoyed with his brother’s outgoing nature, which is usually what Anderson wants to happen. The two brothers are very similar in terms of how stubborn they can be, which usually leads to the two of them clashing severely and dramatically. Mur tends to spend time away from Anderson if he can help it, though finds great joy in slipping him his dessert just to see his softer side. (126/200)
sis mirabelleYou’d think that Mur and Mirabelle would get on like a house on fire with how quiet they both are, but it’s really not the case. Mur loves the fact that he can spend time with Mirabelle without feeling the need to be overly social, but as they both enjoy their time alone, they don’t spend time together often. Unlike his sister, Mur feels less like an outcast, and always tries to pull Mirabelle into his games with the rest of the family. He doesn’t always understand how his sister can be so happy playing in the mud, and always seems to tell her to go wash her fur, even though she never listens to him. Mur also loves her obsession with reptiles, as he too loves them, just not to the same extent, and would much rather watch his sister hold them rather than hold them himself. (148/200)
sis aviaUnfortunately, Avia is probably Mur’s least favourite member of the family, though he does love her dearly. He greatly clashes with her ability to get her own way easily, and greatly dislikes it when she throws tantrums to further this. Her big personality can get on his nerves quickly, and he just prefers to avoid it at all costs. He’s not a big fan of her rough and tumble games with their brothers, and would rather sit out and watch, and possibly slap a bandage on whoever was the first to be injured. However, Mur will always defend his sister’s name, especially if anyone at school decides to say something. He knows she’d be able to take on everyone, but truly doesn’t want to see her hurt.
