"willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences"
Even though she rarely admits it, she can enjoy something too, just as anyone else. For Shana, the most enjoyable thing is adventure - she hates just sitting around and doing nothing; even working or staying at one place for a longer time makes her mad. What she needs is discovering something new - the more exciting or dangerous the better. She loves exploring the forests for mythical creatures or climb mountains, visit deep caves or a vulcano. She does rodeo and handles poisonous spiders and snakes just for the thrill. She wants something done before she gets old.
» ᴀᴍʙɪᴛɪᴏᴜs «
"having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed"
This applies to Shana in pretty much every way. In fact: Shana despises failure; she would never let herself not manage to do something. Furthermore, she always has her head in the game. There is nothing she is not willing to finish, due her strong hate towards failing, especially if there is competition involved. In that case she always has the will to be the best and show everyone else that she indeed is capable of doing anything. If the rare occasion of her failing should indeed occur, it is very likely to pull her down for weeks. But due to her great ambition she pretty much always manages to actually do what she planned.
» ʙᴏssʏ «
"fond of giving people orders; domineering"
She will never, literally never, take any orders from anyone else but herself; in her opinion she is the boss and she is always willing to act this out. Everything has to go the way she wants and everybody has to do what she says. She truly despises others who think they can just ignore her orders; she always needs to be a leader figure and she always wants to have the last word. She ain't a sergeant for no reason after all.
» ᴄᴏᴜʀᴀɢᴇᴏᴜs «
"not deterred by danger or pain; brave"
She fears nothing, truly nothing. Many have already been surprised by her fearlessness and will to fight anyone and anything; tell her about a beast that is roaming around a village - she will pack her weapons and bring that thing down. If sobody needs to be safed from a burning building - she will enter without any protection measures. She is not afraid of the dark, loves to play with little and big spiders and laughs danger in the face.
» ᴅᴜᴛɪғᴜʟ «
"conscientiously or obediently fulfilling one's duty"
Being practically raised for serving in the military Shana has learned about her duty even back when she was a Viscling. Back then, her duty was it to help her mother with the household and on the farm, as soon as she grew old enough her father took her on the edges of the battlefield and her duty was it to take in wounded soldiers and to care for them. Being raised by duty, she would never dare to question what's to do but proudly fulfill what's needed.
» ᴇʟᴏǫᴜᴇɴᴛ «
"fluent or persuasive in speaking or writing"
She has always been very intelligent and a great learner; although maths is not her strenght, her skills with languages are incredible. Even though due biologic means she cannot speak any human languages, she understands many of them and is able to read and write in Irish, Gaelic, English, German, Latin, French, Greek and Spanish. She even knows some words or sentences in lesser known langues, for example those that are spoken amongst native tribes from different parts of the world. And even though she is not able to hold a speech in any human language, she would always be able to write one as if it was nothing.
» ғɪᴇʀᴄᴇ «
"having or displaying an intense or ferocious aggressiveness"
What she does, she does without hesitating. It is practically not possible to bring her off track, especially not during combat and while she is doing her duty. She will push aside everything and everyone if needed; she will not stop by any means.
» ɢʀᴏᴜᴄʜʏ «
"irritable and bad-tempered; grumpy; complaining"
Most of the time Shana can be found in a quite bad mood - she is just not the person for making jokes and walk through the day with a smile. She is very serious and appears pretty grumpy; she almost never can take a joke and if she comes across someone with a happy-go-lucky attitute, everything she will do is just roll her eyes and tell the other person to get over it.
» ʜᴀʀᴅ-ᴡᴏʀᴋɪɴɢ «
"tending to work with energy and commitment; diligent"
In addition to being very ambitious, she is also very hard-working. She puts her soul into whatever she is doing, no matter what. Herding the cattle on her parent's farm? She will never let the herd out of sight. Having a difficult mission with her team? She will lead them through all difficulties and make sure that everyone comes back safe. Just paperwork to fill out? She will still sit there for hours until it's done and nothing less than perfect. She is indeed a workaholic and in addition to that a perfectionist when it comes to her work.
» ɪɴᴅᴇᴘᴇɴᴅᴇɴᴛ «
"not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence; free from outside control; not depending on another's authority"
Even when she was a young Viscling, she did not need anyone to tell her what to do. She always did her own thing, never relying on even her parents and when she was old enough she left the family's farm to join the army without looking back even once. She is even more like this today. She has her own mind and does not need any other person to show or tell her what to do; she can take care of herself and she will proudly tell everyone who dares to question her independence.
» ᴊᴜᴅɢᴇᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʟ «
"feeling the right to judge, and doing so"
Yes, indeed, Shana loves to judge others and their behaviour or their actions - especially when those might have an effect on her. When she thinks, that someone did something stupid, she will tell them right away, without hesitation. It doesn't matter if the person she judges is authority, Shana gets up against literally anyone. And if you did something that she didn't like once, you can bet on her judging you for the rest of your life.
» ᴋᴇᴇɴ «
"having or showing eagerness or enthusiasm"
This does not always apply to her, as in social situations she is often quite the opposite from enthusiastic. But even when not working, Shana can show a great deal of eagerness, for example while she is dealing with stuff that's in her interest - such as mythology, raising animals or reading crime novels.
» ʟᴏɢɪᴄᴀʟ «
"reasoning in a clear and consistent manner"
Even though she has a soft spot her mythology, Shana herself always thinks very logical. So if something might happen on the battlefield or at home on the meadows or in the forests, she would never assume that something supernatural was the source. For her, everything can be explained with a bit of logic, which is also a reason why she loves reading murder mysteries so much - because she is amazing at detecting who the killer is. And if she wasn't a military, she probably would have become a detective.
» ʟᴏʏᴀʟ «
"giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance to a person or institution"
Although not being a very social creature, she is very loyal. She has not many friends, but her loyality especially includes her military team and her family. If anyone close or dear to her would get in trouble, she would drop everything and leave to their rescue. And even though she considers herself very independed and has high meaning of her own decisions and opinions, she would stay besides someone she truly likes, even though their intentions or goals might be the complete opposite of hers.
» ᴍᴇᴛɪᴄᴜʟᴏᴜs «
"showing great attention to detail; very careful and precise"
As already mentioned, she is a perfectionist. No matter what she is doing, she does not only have to do it good, but great. She always has a need to be the best at practically everything and she will to anything to achieve perfection. It has happened on already more than one occasion, that she outpowered herself because she worked to hard on something or couldn't let something go, because it was not quite what she wanted it to be yet.
» ɴᴏᴛᴇᴡᴏʀᴛʜʏ «
"interesting, significant, or unusual"
Considering someone as interesting or unusual can be depending on the viewer, but it is hard to deny that Shana has a special presence. When she enters a room, she never goes unnoticed; when she starts to speak, all eyes and ears are on her. She leaves others wondering who she is and what her intentions are, since she prefers to act instead of talk and often seems to disappear as fast as she appeared.
» ᴏʙsᴛɪɴᴀᴛᴇ «
"stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or chosen course of action"
One thing noteworthy about her is that she is very, very stubborn, especially when it comes to her own opinion. She is one of those, who hardly let their specific view on things go, even if they are proven wrong. For Shana, her opinion matters the most and she is right, even when she is wrong. If she thinks, something is useless, you could show her that it is indeed not and she will probably just tell you, that this was a coincidence and the thing is still useless. Her being like this makes it also hard to befriend her once she decided not to like you, because she often acts out the first impression of someone. If she thinks you are lazy and idotic, she will probably never change that view.
» ᴘɪᴄᴋʏ «
"fastidious, especially excessively so"
If someone was to win a price for being picky, it could be Shana with a high chance. She despises so many things, it's practially unbelivable. She is not only a picky eater - there is probably more she does not eat than she actually does - but also picky when it comes to her surroundings. She does not talk to everyone, she does not endure everyone's presence and she will clearly not spend more than five minutes in a room that's below her taste. She is very picky about choosing what to wear too, her military uniform always needs to be perfect.
» ǫᴜᴀʀʀᴇʟsᴏᴍᴇ «
"likely to cause an argument; controversial"
Shana being obstinate and stubborn, as well as needing to be independent and listening to no one, is predictable that she is a person that you can argue with alot. It is almost impossible to have a normal talk with her, when you two have an opposing view at something. One of you will likely start an argument and most of the time it's her.
» ʀɪsᴋ-ᴛᴀᴋɪɴɢ «
"willingness to take risks"
To achieve what she wants, she is willing to do practially everything. Even if it puts her in danger. She has to be willing to take risks, of course, otherwise she wouldn't have joined the army, where she could die practially every day. But it goes beyond that. Shana does not think twice - if something has to be done and nobody else will do it, she probably will. She has entered buildings that were in danger of collapsing, she has entered enemy territory unarmed and she has spend nights in the mountains without shelter in order to achieve missions.
» sᴀʀᴄᴀsᴛɪᴄ «
"using irony in order to mock or convey contempt"
Understanding her or knowing if she actually meant something she said can be quite difficult when dealing with Shana. She loves the use of sarcasm and irony and probably about ninety percent of what she says aren't quite meant as they where put. Shana herself has quite the fun in being sarcastic, she loves mocking and confusing others and she enjoys screaming and others because they took something for true that she actually didn't mean like that.
» ᴛᴀᴄɪᴛᴜʀɴ «
"reserved or uncommunicative in speech; saying little"
Although being very eloquent and being able to write and read many different languages, Shana prefers to say only what's necessary. She almost never talks to someone privately and her answers mostly consist of one to three words, she rarely talks in full sentences. Even when giving orders she prefers to keep everything short and clear, she is definitely no one to beat around the bush.
» ᴛᴡᴏ-ғᴀᴄᴇᴅ «
"insincere and deceitful; guilty of or involving deceit; deceiving or misleading others"
Especially when Shana is a stranger, her behaviour can not always be trusted. She will never be like this within her family or the few people that she calls friends, but if she benefits from it, Shana can often be seen to "chance her face". What does that mean? It means, that she hides her true intentions and her true personality in order to achieve something she wouldn't get otherwise. She will suddenly turn friendly and acting helpful; she also has no shame in lying or at least not telling the whole truth if necessary.
» ᴜɴsᴄʀᴜᴘᴜʟᴏᴜs «
"having or showing no moral principles; not honest or fair"
If something has to be done, Shana will not hesitate to do it; even if it involves breaking any law of some sort. She will lie, cheat and walk over shadows, fire and death bodies to achieve her goals. On the combat field she learned, that only the strong survive and she agreed with herself never to be one of the weak ones.
» ᴠᴇʀsᴀᴛɪʟᴇ «
"able to adapt or be adapted to many different settings"
Shana has no problem with getting used to anything. During her days on the combat field she has dealt with great heat, icy frost, drought, flood, powerful thunderstorms, earthquakes and many natural spectacles and natural desasters more. And for all those years passing, she got used to any of it and just fights her way through; she really can endure even the harshest conditions.
» ᴡɪʟᴅ «
"uncontrolled or unrestrained"
One thing important about Shana: no one will ever be able to tame her. She is wild, free and independent and she doesn't want to miss any of this. Yes, she is bound to her duty on the battlefield, but other than that: if she wants to leave, she leaves. If she wants to come back, she does. She also shows wilderness in her behaviour, as she will never be the first one to take a step back but actually take a step foward. She will be the one starting fights without a second thought and she will jump into any adventure or danger that's offered to her. She is like a wild animal, never bound to one place only and she walks through life without a single regret.

It was a dry and hot day, the air was stirring and dust settled itself down in the soldiers' throats while the mosquitoes feasted on their blood. Everyone was tired and weak, they just wanted to go home, back to their families, back to a peaceful life. But they were bound to the battlefield through duty.
This day was day 86, they were close to three months of fighting and yet there was no end in sight. Right now, some of the soldiers were getting ready - putting on their uniforms and preparing their weapons. A small troup under Shana's lead and command has been assigned to enter enemy's territory in order to rescue some fellow soldiers, who where held hostage by the enemy lines.
"Do you think we can do this?" Another soldier approached Shana and the female Viscet could be seen smiling for just a moment. "Of course we can, dummy." Of course she was saying that - Shana would never dare to call something impossible, because for her nothing ever was. "If you say so, Sarge. My faith is on you." The other Viscet, a male one, smiled too. Him and Shana looked very alike, in fact, they were siblings, twins even, which furthermore also explained why Shana acted so different when being around him. Stefan, that was his name, was family, after all.
While waiting for orders from their leader, the soldiers were getting more and more nervous. Shana could say "we can do that" all she liked but it was undoubtable that their mission was dangerous and could easily fail if just one of them made a false move. All of their lives were in danger, maybe even more than on anyday else. But Shana, being the way she was, would hear none of that. They would carry out their mission. They would enter enemy's territory. They would free the hostages. They would return safe to the camp. That's the way everything went in her mind and nobody could change any of it. Keeping herself short, she explained their stragedy, telling each soldier what they had to do. Then the troup went off into the jungle - off into enemy territory, off into an unknown part of land that neither of them has entered before.
While they were getting closer to the place, where the hostages were believed to be, it looked like their mission would indeed succeed. Moving forward was hard, the jungle was full of pitfalls, the soldiers got tangled up in roots and lianas all the time and they had to be careful not to run right into their enemy's open arms. But other than that, all of them were still alive and they were on their way for almost a day now - their destination was near, everyone could feel it, the tension rose and was about to break the professionalism. To prevent her soldiers from making a mistake, Shana ordered a short break. A relieved sight filled the jungle as the soldiers stopped in their monotone walk, breathing the moist air of the jungle and sharing some water and bread. They were still holding onto their weapons, just in case, but their minds drifted off and for a while each soldier, except Shana, who never allowed herself to really rest, was distracted. They soon should realize their mistake...
... when the enemy attacked out of nowhere. They haven't heard or seen them coming, yet here they were, using the other troup's distraction to their advantage. The fight did not last long, Shana's soldiers were overpowered, the enemy was the majority and profited from the fact, that the jungle was their home. When the troup drew back, not even half of them were left, all of them badly wounded.
The first thing Shana looked for, when the fight was finally over, was her brother, the only person she really trusted and the one she needed the most right now. But he was not there. "He is dead, Sargeant." She got told, but she would shake her head and tell them to shut up. She could not find his dead body anywhere and this was, what kept her hoping. "As long as I don't see it with my own eyes, he is still alive." She always insisted, no matter how often the others tried to convince her to let go. But Shana was not like that. They already had lost the soldiers that were held hostage. She would not let herself lose another, especially not her dearest brother. As soon as help came, Shana deserted her troup in order to look for Stefan.
This was two years ago but she still hasn't given up on him. Every night, she will whisper to the stars: "Someday I will have you back, brother mine."

Personality
Saturn is quiet, yet inwardly fierce. Inside she battles beast of innumerous
measure, ones that breath molten rock and wield sword-like talons. Outside,
she is rather... clueless, ditsy, clumsy, absent-minded. You pick the term.
Saturn never truly fit in and she never once disliked that simple fact. Why fit
in with reality when what was happening within the world her mind created
was so, so much better! So she shut herself out of the public, away from the
bland life her eyes saw, and encased her consciousness in the illusions formed
by her subconscious. She became a walking corpse-like figure. She rarely eats
unless her body screams for it, she rarely drinks unless her tongue is swollen in
her mouth, and she never, ever speaks. It is not uncommon to see her wandering
aimlessly, colliding with objects she appears to not see as she travels to no where
in particular. Saturn's life is miserable, some could make the claim that she is
even depressed, but that is only what the eyes see. For if you were to look with
your mind, you would see so much more than just a clumsy, fading girl. In fact...
you would see a warrior.
