Name: Tomo
Name meaning: Greek meaning "to cut", which is found in the word "anatomy"
Why You Picked It: I want Tomorrow to be a mad scientist, a doctor gone insane in my apocalyptic au, so something that sounds weird, with a harsh meaning would be perfect for him.
Outside of that au, he would be a surgeon, so Tomorrow would only make sense

Name:
Vide (pronounced Veed)
Nicknames:
Abyss, Void
Name Meaning:
This name is meant to be representative of the french term "l'appel du vide", which through literal translation means "the call of the void". The call of the void is the sensation you get when you are in a situation in which it would be easy to destroy yourself (such as being capable of jumping off a tall building while standing on the roof), and then have a strong urge to do so. Most would never actually make this choice, so why are people drawn to the notion of annihilating themselves? The answer is simple. Causing your own demise is the strongest choice you can make as a living creature, and therefore as a means of exerting control your brain will always compel you to do so.
Why You Picked It:
Vide was given this name for two reasons. In a shallow sense, his fur lacking colour can invoke the visual of a void. In a slightly deeper meaning, it is because of his behaviour. When Vide was born, he was silent. He did not cry, or scream, or anything else. He just stared at his parents, unblinking. This wasn't a curious stare, or one of aggression. It was simply... Nothing. There was no emotion in his eyes, there was nothing to indicate a soul living inside of the silent creature. His parents were unnerved, to say the least. Throughout his life Vide has never once opened his mouth to speak. He remains expressionless most of the time, except for every so often when a small smile will creep onto his features. Unbeknownst to others, his actions are much worse...
Short Story:
((This story uses a fictional unnamed viscet as its narrator.))
I ran through the forest, sharp branches tearing at my pelt and stones lodging in the pads of my paws. The cuts and scrapes did nothing to deter me- I had to get away. It was pure luck I had escaped; clouds covering the moon just long enough that my trance was broken. I didn't know where I was, or how I had gotten there. All I could feel was a chill that sent shivers down my spine, and the near silent breathing of someone - no - something in front of me. I bolted, and I didn't look back.
The wind whipped against my fur, yanking at it and tangling the thin strands into tight knots that caught on the underbrush of the forest. Water splashed against my ankles while forest stream swirled past, crashing down through the rocks and sweeping debris into my path. I was at the edge, paws touching the rough gravel that lined the banks when it hit me. A log from upstream, finally dislodged after years of relentless waves, that smashed into my back legs, throwing me back into the water. A sharp gasp passed my lips as I was thrust underwater, the current swirling over my head as I drifted further downstream into the deeper river. My paws churned hard, struggling against the waves but unable to keep my head above for more than a second or two. The powerful strokes soon weakened, turning into pitiful, feeble swipes at the water surrounding me. I could feel myself slipping away, the life ebbing out of me as my lungs screamed for oxygen. This was it.
I felt a hard thud against my back, and a paw reaching down to snag my tangled fur. They pulled me up, unflinching as I coughed out water on to them, choking on the air that flooded back into my lungs with short, harsh gasps. My eyes drifted upwards, my jaws opening to try to thank whomever was my savior.
As soon as ours eyes met, my limbs locked. My mouth was still open, but this time in a silent scream. His black and white eyes pierced me, seeing through my very soul. The rigidity of my limbs relaxed against my will, the stiffness of my mind not translated into the languid movements of my legs. I tried to fight his control, to fight the urge that drew me forward. I couldn't look away. Enraptured by his eyes, I could feel my mind relinquish its hold on my actions. It screamed and howled, but no sound left my lips. I could see him backing up, feel myself follow him deeper into the dense foliage. Before the darkness engulfed my mind, all I could think of was the darkness in his eyes, and the smile that crept onto his lips. The end had come, and I swear I heard his voice in my head before I tossed myself into the abyss.
"The call of the void."

((Please tell me if the fictional viscet narrator or the nicknames section is a problem. The nicknames are simply variations of his given name, so I assumed it would be alright. If not, I will remove that section.))
