name; Elysia
gender; female
story;
They said that there was no hope. Leukemia at this stage ... she would not survive. But he was the king, so he looked for new bones for his daughter. He found a match. The match? She was nobody, an orphan. So the doctors, they were careless. They hardly cared if she lived or died. After all, there was nobody to object, nobody to question whether or not what they were doing was right. She scarcely survived, but she lost her leg. As soon as she could, Elysia left the old kingdom. She vowed to never return.
how did she get her leg?
After leaving her old home, Elysia realized that she needed a job. Her remaining leg was nimble, so she found one working in a small mechanical shop. It was there that she began the task of building herself a new leg. Her first attempt was dreadful, little better than a peg leg. She tried again. And again. But to succeed she realized she needed something she did not have. Magic.
She needed something to animate the limb, something to make it move the way she wanted. No machine could do that. And the spell would require a powerful magician. So swallowing her pride, Elysia realized she would have to return to the old kingdom and ask for the help of a court magician. Surely they could not deny her this one mercy?
When she journeyed back to the old kingdom, she found it much changed. The king was dead and his daughter was the new ruler. Elysia hated her. This was understandable. After all it was the girl's fault she had lost her leg. But Elysia had come so far, it would be a shame to return now. So she requested an audience with the princess.
"Princess."
"Hello Miss... I'm sorry, I wasn't told your name."
"Elysia, Princess."
"Why have you come before me today?"
"I have come to ask whether or not you could spare one of the court magicians to help me. You see..."
Elysia gestured to her stump,
"I need a magician to help me enchant a false limb I have made for myself."
"Miss Elysia, I'm afraid that I can't spare you one of the court magicians, they're very busy and I can't have them help just anyone."
"Oh, but Princess, you see, I am not just anyone. I suppose you could say that you owe me this. After all, it's only because of you that I'm even here today. I think that what I'm asking for is perfectly reasonable."
"I'm sorry, I 'm afraid I don't understand."
"How do I put this? You were very sick a long time ago and your father decided that my life was worthless so long story short, he decided to trade my life for yours, thankfully I survived but I lost my leg."
The princess gasped and did the last thing Elysia expected, she ran forward and embraced her.
"My sister, how I have wronged you! My father told you that you had volunteered, I searched for you, only to find that you had left the kingdom. Please, you are a guest at the castle as long as you'd like, I'll also make arrangements for you to meet with a magician, and a engineer if you help with the limb itself, and gold, yes, you're free to use the royal coffers as you wish."
She paused.
"I'm very sorry about what happened in the past. I hope you believe me when I say that my father never consulted me or told me the whole truth. I also hope that you can forgive me and that maybe we can be friends as you're the closest to a sister I'll ever get."
Elysia nodded, then smiled.
"I forgive you, after all, it wasn't your fault."
"Thank you, sister."

A sketchpage I guess? If this counts as more than one piece let me know and I'll remove it. The two crossed out things are supposed to be early drafts she made of her leg.
