At first glance, Tyche is rather eye catching. Slumped up against the wall and fidgeting uncomfortably in probably a hoodie with their paws jammed in the pocket, Tyche probably doesn't do a good job of not being noticed. Not that they mind that too badly.
Until they get caught.
And they probably look like the type to get caught. To anyone who didn't know them, at first glance they'd probably only see a delinquent child about to go to juvey for stealing and think 'Well good'. Except it's far more complicated than that.
Tyche has kleptomania. Kleptomania is the recurrent failure to resist urges to steal items that you generally don't really need and that usually have little value. This makes it rather difficult for Tyche to remain a good person, something that they always strive to do.
They never mean for it to happen, but when it does, well of course the police are involved. It's just something they can't control too well. Thankfully by now the police know what's up and even know them by name.
But Kleptomania isn't the only thing shaping this little one's world. Tyche is an artist of sound as well. Musically inclined even. Because for Tyche, music has color and those colors can be beautiful if they go together. Synesthesia is the production of a sense impression relating to one sense or part of the body by stimulation of another sense or part of the body and also something this parrapup goes through though they'd never call it a disorder. Sounds just have color to them. The sound of a keyboard, depending on the note could have a cold clear crystal blue color or an warm, but strong brown. They just sound that way to young Tyche. Coupled with their musical abilities, they have the most profound taste and only prefer aesthetically pleasing sounds to go together. Sometimes, they may even take a shape.
Kleptomania and Synesthesia are both big parts of Tyche's life and aren't something they can erase even if they wanted to. But they are aspects, or rather parts of Tyche.
But overall Tyche is a kid. They're just trying their best like everyone else, but they just have to try twice as hard. An introvert, they hardly speak aloud even with close friends or relatives and will instead sign, finding it easier to keep a conversation that way. They are also deeply loyal to those who have shown them kindness. They just can't help getting attached even if it was something that was seen as simple it means the world to them anyway. It makes them want to stay determined.

Now when it comes to their background they have always lived in a big city and their parents were always busy working, from the moment they woke up till they came back home at dusk, bone weary and tired. During that time Tyche rarely saw them during the day but if they did they were usually doing house errands. Sometimes Tyche got to go with them, wanting to spend time with them even if it meant doing chores. And there was no mistake that their parents loved them very dearly even with how busy they were. Little notes were left around the house of encouragement, quotes from books they read that they liked best, phone call in cases of emergency, and questions that Tyche got to fill out about what they wanted to do during the weekend. Tyche and their parents may not see each other during the day but they communicate fine and Tyche treasures these tiny notes, a new one everyday, and keeps a steadily growing folder of them to look at when they feel particularly scared or alone.
As for school well, things could be better but they weren't terrible. As one can expect Tyche was picked on rather easily through school but learned to fight back. They are not one for violence but they won't stand being brushed aside by anyone. It probably doesn't help that they don't talk. Instead they prefer signing to actual speaking though with some words they are comfortable saying out loud.
Tyche signs and very fluently.
This has made them the perfect target for bullies in the past. Only no one expected Tyche to be so quick to defend themselves but here we are. Now Tyche doesn't fight as much but they're quick to stop a bully in their tracks.
As a young child their parents used to tell them if someone puts their hands on you then you have the right to defend yourself. So Tyche lives by that rule. They never attack, only defend and they'll defend others too.
Now Tyche experienced the first bouts of Kleptomania at a very young age. The item they first stole was their father's keys. Then they stole their mother's handbag. Theit teacher's notebook. A classmate's reading book. It was getting clear to see young Tyche was developing a problem. Discipline didn't work and it was easy to see that Tyche was genuinely sorry for these things, even going as far enough as to cry. It wasn't until Tyche was taken to the doctor's for a regular checkup that there was an answer for this behavior. Tyche stole the stethoscope. But to the relief of Tyche's parent they were not upset. Finally they came clean to the doctor about it and after asking Tyche some questions as well was able to diagnose the issue. Tyche's parents had never heard of it, but concerned for their child they looked it up. Finally seeing some answer they were relieved while Tyche subtly attempted to steal some cookies from their mother's handbag. There were few solutions but it was better than nothing. Still to this day, Tyche feels guilty when they steal but it's nice to know that their parents still care. Sometimes they'll leave things out on purpose for them, and Tyche can practice not stealing whatever the item is. It makes them feel good when they manage and even if they don't, it's good practice to break a bad habit. Even a little bit.

Take Me To Church By Ellie Goulding. The sensual song is much like Tyche's calm, and sensitive persona and while Tyche would approve wholly of this song aesthetically, a song I think would also contend well with the theme song aspect is Shake it Out by Florence + The Machine. While Tyche could argue that they do not have the same issues described in the song, their morals are the biggest issues they have and will often weigh them down. They need to see that they are not a bad person for doing bad things that quite honestly they can't control completely.

Vasilios- A pertinent father figure in Tyche's young life when their own father could not be around, Vasilios is a dear family friend and guardian. Tyche looks up to him and is glad to be apart of his family. While waiting for their parents to come home from work, Vasilios acts as a temporary parent in more ways than one. He's even cobsidered an emergency contact in case something were to happen. (Sasariously)
Kurro- The "annoyingly, awful butt" that Tyche has to deal with in order to be chill with their role model Vasilios. After all he is his son. Tyche hangs out with them for better or for worse and often gets roped into his dumb schemes and pranks. Still as "awful" as he seems he's a very loyal friend to Tyche and Tyche cares for him greatly. The two are practically siblings. While they do squabble and fight often, mostly because of something Kurro did, Tyche usually sits tight for the ride. (Sasariously)
Ren- One odd, but pretty cool uncle of Tyche's, Ren is obsessed with dead things working as a mortician. Often they take Tyche to the cemetery and read their names out to them. While not too bad of an uncle per se, Tyche knows that it isn't normal for a uncle to care so much about graves. Still they paid their respects and Tyche was taught about many traditions involving death. Ren is also great for advice about bullies and while Tyche can use none of it, it's funny and works for cheering them up. (Winkatuck)

Photograph-
(Tyche is 8 years old in this prompt)
Tyche hated taking pictures. Whenever they had to take pictures they were stuffed either in a dress or a suit and neither were comfortable. Not to mention they'd be forced to take a bath before the morning even started which was so unfair! Then they watched their parents as they rushed about getting ready when all Tyche wanted to do was finish their cereal and watch the Saturday cartoons before noon came around. There was a new episode of Beyblade today! Who knows how many shows they'll have to watch before it cones back on again! But of course, this went unheeded and now poor Tyche was in an itchy dress, arms crossed and pouting furiously as their Saturday morning was ruined by a stupid picture day.
They glared at their parents and then into the camera, scowling furiously at them. Traitors! All of them traitors!
"Come now Tyche you have to smile," their mother tried to console but Tyche huffed angrily back at her. All the good shows were going on right now without them! All of them!
Truthfully, Tyche knew they were being a brat, but they couldn't help it! First they were woken up far too early and made to take a bath. Then they were shoved into this awful dress that rode up and itched and felt so uncomfortable and they couldn't even sit the way they wanted to in it. Then their father gave them a lecture about being lady-like which made Tyche's blood boil. And finally now they were being patronized when they could've been watching the BEST episode of Yu-Gi-Oh because Beyblade just went off! Part of Tyche just wanted to spite them, and steal that stupid camera, but knew they couldn't so they continued pouting.
Nothing their parents nor the photographer did could make them change their appearance.
'Who's lady-like now dad?' they think smugly as they watch their father grow more and more frustrated.
No way were they going to give either of them this satisfaction.
The picture, it was decided, was ruined but they had already paid and Tyche with their pink frilly dress and braided hair, and scrunched up expression to that of someone who disliked anything sour, was their reward.
That was their picture and while they were scolded all the way home they were smug. Looking back at it now Tyche still feels somewhat justified whenever they see that photo.
Saturday cartoons are not to be trifled with.
Music
Gazing at their picture of blobs Tyches felt the cool sense of satisfaction as they gazed at their art with a critical eye. 'The colors are just right,' they think with approval as they press the crayola crayon harder into the paper. The music they listen to is soft, quiet, with a low sounding bass that pulses; a deep blue they notice that is also very intriguing. The blue, they think, holds the picture together as any good bass should.
As they're drawing -their eyes drawn to the special purples and occasional ice pinks of the song they chose to listen to this evening- they never notice the shadow behind them nor the glint in two mischievous golden eyes, under thick curly black hair. They never spotted Kurro until it was too late.
"Rawr!"
"!!!" The sound Tyche made as Kurro pounced on them could only redescribed as completely undignified and they spat and tried to squirm away. Hissing as their annoying, awful friend laughed at them they pushed him off and glared at him. The curly maned Parrapup laughed and bounced over as Tyche grumbled angrily, signing furiously at him.
"Ooooe, better not say that in front of dad!" Kurro laughed and then bounced away as Tyche swung at him half-heartedly.
"Hehe what are you even doing anyway, Twitchy?"
Tyche's ear twitched but not with the want to steal. Oh no, not this time.
It twitched because Kurro was gonna get murdered.
As Tyche was thinking about how Vasilios would take to them murdering Kurro, the curly furred parra seemed to be interested in their drawing. "What's this Twitchy?"
Before Tyche could stop him Kurro grabbed the picture and looked at it, eyes squinting at it. "What even is this? Blobs?"
Having had enough of Kurro already Tyche huffed and snatched back the picture before glaring at him. Then they began to sign.
Kurro tilted his head, golden eyes piercingly swift as they read the movements with ease.
"So like you draw music?"
Tyche hummed and then nodded with a soft smirk. All in all, yeah they did draw music. This seemed to make no sense to Kurro however. "How the heck does that work?"
Tyche couldn't help giggling at him and they began to sign again.
"Oh.....huh I didn't know music had color."
Tyche shrugged. It did for them. Always had. Though sometimes, others had color too. Even Kurro, with his soft, annoying timbre held an ocher sound within him. Tyche liked it when it wasn't being so annoying and clashing all the time. Ugh. They were surprised out of their thoughts as Kurro handed them the paper back and seemed to be thinking really hard on something. A very difficult feat for the young pest. Tyche waited patiently, waiting for whatever Kurro was about to spout but even Kurro had his moments.
"Can I try?"
That was how Vasilios found the two, surprisingly peaceful, sharing a 64 color crayon box and listening to music.
"What color is this?" Kurro asked his companion. Tyche thought for a moment before handing him a purple and a soft robin blue crayon. "Oh? Really?"
Tyche nodded and Kurro hummed curiously before putting it down on paper. The two were poured over a single sheet of paper, filling it with a mixture of colors that to Vasilios thought looked oddly put together at first. But there was something deliberate about it.
"What's going on in here?" He asked aloud and the two children jumped before turning to the fatherly parra.
"Ah hey dad!" Kurro chirped while Tyche signed a greeting up at him. Vasilios walked over and kneeled down, gently wrapping his arms around the both of them much to one's delight and the other's horror. "Daaaaaaad!" Came the whining protest and Tyche laughed at Kurro with a grin. They liked the hugs Vasilios gave. They were always warm.
"You rascals didn't answer my question," he reminded them and Tyche answered. The father read their signing carefully, rasising an eyebrow. "Drawing music? Well, this is a very interesting song."
Kurro grinned. "Thanks! Tyche can hear colors so we've been drawing the song they were listening too! I'm not that great at hearing color, but Tyche said it's pretty good!" Kurro said as he showed his father his earlier attempts. Behind his back Tyche grimaced at Vasilios but smiled and signed "so-so" at him before showing their own masterpieces. Vasilios was intrigued. Music having a color. Well it would make sense in an odd way. Certain sounds may have different shades or colors.
He studied the pictures he was shown carefully and grinned. "Want to put them on the fridge for me?"
Tyche jumped up before Kurro could answer and soon the two were racing to put their creations on the fridge first while Vasilios looked over their other pictures curiously.
This was giving him an idea. But for what exactly, he wasn't sure just yet. As he looked through the papers that were strewn around the floor he paused as he caught sight of one in particular. It was if possible a drawing of him and his son and of Tyche, the three of them above the words "family" scribbled in bright red green and yellow crayon. The tattoo artist gazed at the picture for a long time before smiling softly. This one he would take to work where it could hang proudly.
For now he needed to head to the kitchen. His two little artists were making a bit of a racket.
