about merc. jr: lovingly called by this nickname, nic's shadow is not a toy from a child, but the rare occasion of a discarded love token of a teenager. mercutio's physical form found itself in one white rose among eleven red and pink ones, and the bouquet had been given from a young teenage boy to his crush, which was in high hopes of finally coming out and having a boyfriend to aid him along the way. his crush had tossed down the roses and stomped them down, crying out homophobic slurs and threatening the boy before walking away. amidst the roses, the white had been crushed the most. the rose soon found itself coiled around a doll's wrist, and after springing to life, took a fiery moment to settle after realizing that it had no other options - this was all it had now. merc junior spends its time coiled around nic's wrist so tightly it's usually mistaken as a tattoo. the only way it is able to communicate is from its varying temperature: on an extreme scale, below freezing is terrified, and burning to the point of inflicting char marks on the doll's "skin" is angered beyond belief. good thing it often finds out how to control emotions.

Benvolio is very flirtatious and and a hopeless romantic. He will flirt with another for hours with out even realizing it most of the times. Benvolio loves the idea of being in true love and often is found reading romantic novels, even though he won't admit to reading anything of the sort. This doll is very active and enjoys the company of others. For him, all he needs is to be is in another's presence to be content. Benvolio can be very spontaneous and loves to surprise other with random gestures of kindness or complements. Ben also has social anxiety and can be easily overwhelmed; He is easily frightened by large amounts of others and will often have a melt down. During one of these melt downs Benvolio will usually shove others away and close up, often running off to a secluded area to calm down. Ben is very well traveled and has met many dolls and seen many places. This doll knows only enough of most languages to get him from point A to point B, but don't ask him to write anything down or read as he doesn't know how to do either except in english. Benvolio is seen as cunning and clever; He can talk himself out of most situations, often saving him from getting majorly hurt. He also sometimes misunderstands something another has said or done and give incorrect information to others, often causing quite a fuss. Despite some of his flaws, Benvolio is a grand friend and a good person to keep around.

Romeo is shy and overly judgmental. Romeo doesn't like meeting new dolls or shadows and would rather keep to the one he knows won't hurt him, Benvolio. This shadow quickly forms opinions and easily turns away from most he meets. This rose is very clingy towards his doll, never leaving his for even a second. Romeo doesn't allow dolls he doesn't know well touch Benvolio and is very protective over the doll. While he will not lash out, this shadow will hiss(even though he has no visible mouth) and curl up possessively around the arm of his doll. Romeo doesn't trust others very well and is always in fear of betrayal. This shadow has only put his trust into few thing in his life as a toy and life as a shadow one of those being Benvolio, who Romeo would gladly die for.
Quirks:
Benvolio hates shoes. He would rather just were socks everywhere he went. This doll hates how shoes make him feel restricted so he avoids wearing them all together.
This doll has an uncanny obsession with flower crowns. His favorite flower to make them out of being roses. He often intertwines his shadow into these crowns, Romeo being the center flower of course.
