Nickname: Alpha
Gender: masculine , male , or brute
Breed: Northern Inuit Dog x
Color: Brown
Weight: a healthy 105 pounds
Height: Alpha is 29 inches
Reasons behind Choices:Horse
Gender - the reason i picked his gender to be masculine instead of feminine or gender-less is because of the fact that although if he was gender-less, he would only be responding to masculine pronouns. and his handlers have, when he was born, or well, when they discovered this horse romping around their pastures with some sort of dog following him, to pronounce him as a male. it's what they figured he was. although if you wanted, he could be pronounced as gender-less or gender-fluid.
Breed - the breed, is because of the flowing "pelt" of the horse. as a small filly/colt they have a "fluffy pelt" so to speak, and it kind of resembles the one of this breed. and like here the pelt could relatively fit into the coloration of the vanner, although there is the more common pelt type/ coloration. he is still young, and no more past his teen years, therefore his "flowing style" hasn't come in yet, and possibly due to a possible impurity in his blood-line, it may not come in. thanks to it skipping 5 generations.
DogGender - the dog is simple, in fact it was more common for this boy to be a male, than a female. because they were raised together they understand each other's temperament and personalities, and more so the fact that the horse is afraid of females, as is the dog. which is why the owners strayed from females. and why their owner was a male.
Breed - the reasoning i chose the breed of the dog to be a(n) Northern Inuit dog, is because not of the close relationship to various other species, but because this species was really never seen as a species at all. though this species was actually a crossbreed, they were not recognized. and many people although they argue that Alpha is a different species entirely, some researches think that he closely resembles this species. he is relatively small in size, but no more than 18 months old.
Personality (Horse/Dog):Horse
Lycandor is not one to trust humans, but he is known to Trust Alpha more than his own mind would allow. he remembers that he once was a great show horse to be, and now wants nothing to do with it. not after the fire that took their home, the humans who tried to hurt Alpha, and the woods that seemed to be the only logical last-resort. he doesn't trust many people, tending to stay in the woods more than a horse should. but most of his life has started in there, and he doesn't want to leave. he's seen people look for him and alpha, trying to get them to come home. but he wasn't nothing to do with it. he has taken on what a stray dog would, although he isn't a "city horse" he knows most of the tricks and trades of the woods. when he is threatened or alpha is, he does tend to become violent and aggressive, most like a dog would protecting family and territory. that of which is the traits that Lycandor gained from years with Alpha.
DogAlpha is more friendly to the human side of the spectrum than Lycandor is. and to be honest, i'm not surprised over it. they were raised together, the dog developing from being introverted when he was younger, to more of an extrovert. he would willingly walk up to a human or some human-infested place and look for food. he has no fear of them, and probably never will, unlike the horse, Lycandor, who won't even begin to think of walking anywhere near humans, let alone thing of it. Alpha could be deemed as way to trusting and one day may get himself killed because of it. he has escaped death once before, but the chance of that happening again is second to none.
History:Overview
they were both born together, and raised together. before a fire took out their home and they wandered into the woods. soon, the woods became their home, the horse acting more like the dog, and the dog, like the horse. not saying that the dog snorts like the horse, and the horse howls like the dog, but they swapped personalities, the horse is more skiddish of humans and the dog is friendly towards them. the dog gathers food from the humans and the horse stays in the woods, defying the laws of nature. the dog is the personality that the horse should be, and the horse is the personality that a stray dog should be. but their not, their the exact opposite of each other. the horse has protected the dog from trouble while the dog gets the things they need.
Tidbits:Horse
- the pelt of the faux wolf came from the last time he ever went into the city, he found it outside a shop and took it, thinking he'd become more "in-tune" with the forest
- he tends to stay in the woods and stay away from humans and human-based things
- it's not common that he and that pelt ever separate for a time, they usually stay together for long periods of time
- the bone mask is from a kill that Alpha made yeas ago, and he used it to make a face mask
- some of the native species in the woods have tried to attack and kill Lycandor, but Lycandor prevails each time
- his mane is matted and ruffled, and hardly ever gets a good brushing, so occasionally, it gets caught in leaves and twigs
- his coat is dull and unkempt, creating him to look weaker, and malnourished than he should, when he's healthy for a "werewolf by night"
- he hardly ever sleeps, and when he does, it's full of nightmares of the past and present, so he's an insomniac for horses
- he was destined to be a grand show horse, but the fire destroyed his home and dreams of becoming just that
- he paws at the ground and snorts and tries to growl like a wolf, but cannot, because is kind of impossible, but he does charge and act like a wolf would, sniffing the air and staying in his "pack" of two. taking charge and trying to be like an alpha wolf.
Dog- Alpha is no older than a pup, they were raised at the same time, but Alpha was younger than Lycandor
- although alpha has aged some, he is more so the age of a 1.5 year old rather than some older more mature dog
- Alpha will never leave Lycandor for a long period of time, and he'd rather stick with him than some female dog and pups
- it is more common for Alpha to do the hunting than Lycandor, and although he eats meat, he does find fields and plains for Lycandor to graze from
- when Alpha howls, Lycandor seems to want to copy him, tending to snort and give whinnies that are longer, trying to act like a dog
- Alpha is not too far behind Lycandor, and can be seen walking next to or behind him
- alpha goes into the city to gather things that they'll need back in the woods
- it's not uncommon that he does run off somewhere and gather something that Lycandor thinks they dont need, bring it back and get in trouble for being gone so long rather than what he's got. in other words, you could say he's a pickpocketer.

Horse
Show Name:A Walk in the Wood
Barn Name:Bane
Gender: Mare
Breed: Comtois Draft Horse (maybe a wip...)
Height: 14.3 hands
Color: Silver Dapple Black
Markings: N/A
Dog
Name:Arthur
Gender: Male
Breed: Utonagan
Color: sable? Chestnut?
Reasons behind Choices:
Horse:
mare: because there are far too few female 'werewolves' out there, and Lemme tell you- girls can be just as...lethal and alluring.. as men can.
Name:Well..bane from Wolfsbane, and A walk in the Wood just sounds.. both elegant and spooky all at once.
Breed: Comtois because the height- color- and fuzziness add up .(I may change this though..)
Dog:
Male: because girls don't exactly get along together for long periods of time- I've learned that from experience. It's far more likely the companion to be a male than a female.
Name: I've always wanted a dog Named Arthur, so here's my chance xD
Breed:Utonagan
I was torn between the Canadian Eskimo dog, AND the Finnish Lapphund , but their curly tail threw me off (Granted the Utonagan's tail curls too i believe..). this fits the looks better in my eyes.
Personality (Horse/Dog):
Horse- Bane is fiery and independent. She is extremely aggressive- she's ready to fight at the drop of a hat. She isn't particularly a loving horse- but she is loyal. She's a bit withdrawn and solemn the majority of the time.
Dog: Arthur makes up personality wise what Bane.lacks. he's energetic and spunky , and he's all around loving. Granted he is extremely protective over Bane and those he holds loyal- and can go from.cute and cuddly to fierce and lethal in a matter of seconds.
Name items that are lethal/toxic to werewolves in mythology:Silver(Duh) In the forms of bullets or stakes , Aconitum (Wolfsbane, monkshood) , Mercury (Quicksilver), some stories say that holy/blessed objects, Some stories also say that a stake to the heart and beheading is only the sure fire way to kill a werewolf.
