Hello, I'm Jaded;; and I'm a non-owner <3
. . .
I believe this girl should be named Mara,
meaning bitter; something she doesn't choose
to be, but ends up acting like most of the time,
especially around other kiamaras.
It all starts when she was born. She was normal; sociable. Even a bit outgoing at times. That part's still in her, and she still wants to become that kiamara, but she finds herself lacking the ability to bring that part out of her. She keeps it hidden, though reveals bits and pieces of it to certain kiamaras that, with time, she comes to trust.
Trust doesn't come easy to her, like it used to. She has become detached from most of society, and definitely won't approach a kiamara on her own terms. She stayed back in the shadows, just watching. Somehow, Mara became more detached from the part of her that she loved, and a new part came out of her. A part that reminded her of the mother she created in her mind, out of the bits and pieces of memories she has of the real one. She became bitter. Detached. Cold. She became the very thing that repeats on her fur: Toxic.

It was the name of her mother; she was sure of it. Mara... It was quite a pretty name. It suits her well, though she doesn't like admitting that. But the meaning, it was... Different. It didn't seem like the name you would give to someone you cared about. You gave your child a bright, sunny name; something enchanting, enlightening. But Mara? Mara was cold. Mara just felt cold and indifferent, like a weight she carried with her. But she could not change her name. She didn't have the willpower; she didn't want to break the only tie she had back to her unknown family. But, more than anything else, she couldn't get rid of the name because it was her. Mara. She was Mara.
. . . .
She was born; and it was cold. Everything was cold. Even the voice that echoed against the dull, barren grey walls was cold. "We should call her Mara."
It was a decision; it must have been thought through long before Mara was even born. What a name, Mara. It was her first moment in life, and still she was burdened with her mother's past. Everything was fuzzy to Mara, while she reflected back upon this moment, like she did on many occasions. But the voice was clear. And the eyes were clear. Bright, bold, dazzling blue. Mara.
There was no other speaking. Everything was cold and desolate, though, it had been before the speaking had stopped. It was a dreary place. Mara could feel the memory getting even fuzzier than before, and opened her eyes. She couldn't remember anything else.
How suiting, Mara. Mara, meaning bitter. Her life was quite bitter, so far; her past was. Not that she made it that way. It was almost as if the bitterness came with her. Mara, meaning bitter. She was given bitterness from birth. It was not a gift to give a child; you gave them warmth, protection, and family. Not bitterness.
Mara. What a name.

[strike]➳ Because of her past, and her
uneasy feelings, she will automatically
distrust any kiamara with blue eyes.
➳ She is always very vague about
her past; sometimes by choice,
but she really does not remember
much.
➳ She enjoys collecting little pieces of
ceramics or metals, and hanging them
with her feathers.
➳ She likes older, unique or
antique things.
➳ She does not really like vivid colours;
whether they are pieces of ceramic, or
bold flowers, or even her own mane. She
really prefers darker, dull things.
➳ She is an insomniac, and will often look
tired or sullen, because she is; she also just
loves staying up at night, because it's quiet
and peaceful.[/strike]
➳ Ironically enough, Mara is allergic to Brazil nuts: the most
radioactive food that is still edible to animals. Brazil nuts have
about 1000 times the radiation poisoning of the average food,
but it still has little enough that the radiation does not harm
the person or animal consuming the nuts.
She is still allergic to most other nuts, including the more
common peanuts or almonds, but the main allergy is to
Brazil nuts. Her other nut allergies are only slight, though
she still tends to stay away from all nuts.
➳ Aside from nuts, Mara has no allergies whatsoever. She
isn't even allergic to pollen, or other common allergies;
she is only allergic to nuts, or as far as she can tell (Mara
tends to be a picky eater, so she hasn't experienced
much culinary-wise).
