Disturbance
a disturbance in the night, fills your spirit quite with fright...
. gender .
female
Surprised? Yes, she isn't the most feminine of beans...especially in looks.
. story .
Disturbance, or Bance as most of her friends called her, hid in the high, slim, bony branches of the winter-dead maple tree strung with cobwebs and Halloween decorum. She blended in perfectly. Using the tree, she could spy on what was happening next door. 'Aha,' She thought as the two younger beans approached the haunted house, 'So, they weren't just bluffing. I can't believe it!' Bance, for her part, had dared the two much younger beans to go into the old human abandoned house. There were rumors about that house - especially with Halloween a mere week away - but Bance's endless teasing was enough to drive any bean into an abandoned shack.
Bance didn't believe the rumors. She herself had been dared to go into the house when she was these beans' age, and had seen nothing but cracked floorboards, a couple of spiders, and one very big squirrel. Still, they didn't have to know that the house wasn't really haunted. Bance grinned.
She slithered down her tree and snuck around to the haunted house, going in the back way she'd scouted out earlier. Then she quietly crept through the house, keeping to the shadows and putting an ear out to listen for the boys. When she decided they must still be just inside the entrance - 'scared like little mice,' she thought - Bance began draping thick cobwebs, of which there were plenty in the house, over her already spooky-looking body. Then she pulled a black hood over her face, making her look like Death himself, and examined the effect in an old, cracked mirror. 'Not bad. No, this I can work with.'
Bance wandered through the house, looking for the boys. Finally, she found them. They were curled up in a corner of the supposedly haunted kitchen, looking frightened out of their wits. They hadn't seen her yet, but they would. Bance smirked, took a deep breath, and leapt out in front of the boys.
Their screams were so immediately loud that Bance burst into laughter, and the young beans ran hysterically out of the house. Bance rolled around on the floor, cackling with delight, and then finally managed to sit back up. She started brushing cobwebs out of her fur, and had just pulled off her hood, when a voice - low, echoing, hissing, and slithering like ice over pavement - growled in her ear.
"Well, hello there, little dragon."
Disturbance bolted out of that house, running for her life, as the voice hissed behind her. That was the last time she'd ever go in there!

Disturbance...well, you may have gotten the idea of her personality from the short story above, but maybe if I continue with this you'll get a better idea.
Bance loves pranks. Especially pranks involving a little fear, because fear is like a doll to Bance, and she loves giving that doll to others. She loves causing a ruckus and (almost) never feels guilty about it, unless something goes really wrong and somebody gets hurt. She tends to act like a child when it comes to being mischievous, but she's fine with being called immature. Disturbance can be a little arrogant. She enjoys lording over the younger beans and feels quite superior to them...but honestly, she feels more guilty about this personality trait than the mischievous one.
Disturbance will bluff to get out of a situation. She has a marvelous poker face, and can lie better than any other bean she knows (especially when it comes to stealing Halloween candy)! On the other hand, paw, whatever, Bance is very brave. She hates cowardice and will rarely flee a supposedly "frightening" situation. Because of her pride, however, she can't stand to be insulted - one of her fatal flaws. She'll talk off your ear with nasty remarks if you insult her even once, and then stalk away, muttering about revenge. And trust me, she'll get her revenge - although you might not even realize it's her! Bance is a skilled pickpocket, and will steal everything you own, just because you called her ugly.
Speaking of that, Disturbance is very sensitive about her looks. Around others she may not appear to be, but she's constantly fidgeting and trying to look decent. Not necessarily girly, but decent. Her parents were so disappointed at her being such an un-girly girl that she grew up trying to show them that tomboy isn't necessarily bad, and it's given her some unusual habits - such as wearing the black hood (mentioned in the story above) to hide her never-combed hair, and putting on glowing jewelry.
Basically, Bance is mischievous, a little arrogant, a good liar, proud, and a tad bit sensitive about her appearance at times. So there ya go.
