Name: Kiragg
Name Meaning: After the mountain Kiragg which hosts the tallest falls in Norway.
Age: 6 years
Height: 14hh
Short Personality: Like the waterfalls he adores, Kiragg is majestic (but don't tell him that...he'll get a complex). He is also persistent and will wear someone down with his unwavering behavior until they either bend or break. Mares have fallen to his romantic sweet-talk simply because he never gave up. He tends to take the path of least resistance, so others call him lazy. I think he's opportunistic. He does take risks sometimes (his motto is "Take the plunge!") and it has hurt him many times; he has a limp in one back leg from doing just such a thing. He hates that weakness and hides it as best he can by drawing attention away from it. He will thunderously enter your life and you'll have memories of it, believe me. Whether they're good or bad is up to you!
Picture of What He reminds you of and why: http://totallyfrickinawesome.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Triple-Falls-Glacier-Park-USA.jpg - Glacial waterfalls.
I was watching you design him, copper, and the first thing that popped into my mind was: "Oh, how cool. The quipping looks like waterfalls running down his body." Then I thought, "Brown waterfalls...sounds kind of unattractive." But then I thought, "Glacier water looks like that though, with the silt in it." That being said...
I know the quipping on his body isn't perfectly vertical, but it's as if you're looking down on the waterfalls/rivers from above. How the quipping fades reminds me of the waterfall's misty spray and how it disappears into the land around it. I can see the white markings on his body reminding me of patches of never-melting snow. I can see the pinker parts relating to beds of quartz that lay hidden until revealed by swiftly moving water. It's like his quippings begin in the heavens and whirls down to the earth, much like the waterfalls themselves.
Favorite Weather: Those swiftly-moving storms that dump rain in the high mountains but skip the plains below; you're treated to a show without having to hide from the wetness!
Short story: It was one of those days... It was hot and muggy and disgusting - the air was so thick that you could slice it with a sharp snap of your tail if you tried hard enough. Kiragg wanted to sigh, but the thought of one more huge lungful of that thick air was enough to make him savor a nice slow breath instead. His herdmate beside him looked up from grazing and saw how the stallion's eyes were on the far horizon. They weren't quite looking into the sun, but to the deep-blue mountain range and the gathering clouds behind the snow-topped crests.
"Kiragg, you know you can't summon the storms," his herdmate said with a laugh. Kiragg snorted and swished his tail at a pesky fly.
"Nonsense. I've been doing it for years." He retorted with a slow blink that drew attention to his oddly-colored eyes. The most poetic mares swooned over them and called them drops of amber or honey-hued. His herdmate saw how they caught the sunlight and reflected it back like a gemstone. No wonder Kiragg was so...assured of himself. "I'll prove it to you. I'll run up into those hills and back. As I come back, I'll bring the storm with me." Before his herdmate could caution against this foolhardy quest, the seal bay pangare Equid was off, his white socks flashing in the sunlit air.

Kiragg ran like the wind. No, he ran with the wind. No...he was the wind. The stallion hummed to himself in quiet delight as he made it up into the foothills of the mountains with relative ease. His dainty hooves picked their way expertly up the increasingly-ragged cliffs and towards his favorite place: the waterfall. He often came here for solace and to center himself when his temper ran too hot. He reached the foggy base of the natural wonder and craned his head up towards its peak. He had never been up to there...why not? After all, he had the means. It took him not long to reach the summit and he stood there, feeling the rumble of the moving water in his bones. It thrilled him beyond measure. If only HE had this kind of power! Above him, the storm clouds grew dark and brooding. Kiragg felt a rush of bravado and leapt onto a boulder in the center of the river. He stood there, master of all that spread before him, and was so involved that he never took note of how the river deepened...and the waterfall's rumble increased.

With a crash, the storm broke! With a howl, the wind kicked up! With a smash, Kiragg was knocked into the river by a sudden wave of rain/snow-water that sent him hurtling over the edge of the falls! He was breathless - weightless - no longer fearless as the pool below hurtled up to meet him! Darkness...silence...and then the ragged bump of river rocks beneath his shoulder. Kiragg spewed water and dragged himself out, shivering and scared. Home was where he needed to be...and home he went. The foolhardy young stallion made it back with a terrible limp in one hind leg. He made up a fabulous story that no one believed and always stuck to it, so the herd accepted that they would never know. Kiragg was always reminded of that fateful day...and about how powerful a waterfall can be. He respects them more than ever and loves how the far-off storms make them rumble.
Describe his eyes: Take a peek at the picture I linked again. Let's get poetic.
How the sunlight shines through the misty waters thrown up from the falls. How it radiates out from the center to catch your attention before it wanders to take in the rest of the beauty - those are Kiragg's eyes.
He also seems thoughtful in his picture, so we'll say that they're pensive eyes too.
