Stella
Gender:
female
Age:
10
Nicknames:
She likes to call herself Raven in her play and her grandmother calls her Luna sometimes.
STELLA
Gender:
Feminine
Usage:
English
Pronounced:
STEL-ə
Meaning & History:
Means "star" in Latin. This name was created by the 16th-century poet Sir Philip Sidney for the subject of his collection of sonnets 'Astrophel and Stella'. It was not commonly used as a given name until the 19th century. It appears in Tennessee Williams' play 'A Streetcar Named Desire' (1947), belonging to the sister of Blanche DuBois and the wife of Stanley Kowalski.
How I was Raised:
Back story:
Stella was just a child when her Grandmother took her away to live with her and learn how to become a proper young lady. But they spent most of their time inside and her Grandmother's house was dark because she had delicate, old eyes that couldn't handle the light to well. Therefore the only time she was aloud to go outside was when it was dark.
Stella sat beside her Grandmother on the top of the hill they were on. That night her Grandmother was teaching her a lesson on the constellations, day and night time, and Stella's favorite, the moon. "And that one there" Her Grandmother said pointing to a series of stars. "Is Ursa Minor." Stella stared at the stars in aw. How she longed to be a star. To be able to look down upon the earth and have those tiny little people stare up at her in aw as she was now. But then she noticed the moon right in the middle of the sky. So big and round like it was pushing the tiny little specks of light out of the way to get full attention from everything below. "Grandmother." She said looking at her grandmother. "Hmm? What is it Stella?" Stella looked back at the moon. "How does the moon travel across the sky like that?" "Well the Moon has a nearly circular orbit (e=0.05) which is tilted about 5° to the plane of the Earth's orbit. Its average distance from the Earth is 384,400 km. The combination of the Moon's size and its distance from the Earth causes the Moon to appear the same size in the sky as the Sun, which is one reason we can have total solar eclipses...." She stopped when she saw the blank expression on Stella's face. She chuckled then said, "Well there once was a Goddess named Selene who would fly across the night sky in her chariot pulled by big strong horses. Well one day Selene made the king of all the gods and goddess mad. So for her punishment she was locked forever in the moon." Stella gasped. Her Grandmother smiled, then putting her paw on Stella's shoulder she pointed at the moon. "Do you see her smiling at you from within the moon Stella?" Stella turned her attention at the moon and saw that there was what appeared to be a face smiling at her from the moon. "Yes Grandmother I see her! I see her! She's right there smiling at me from the moon!.... But if she's in the moon then how is she able to pull it across the sky?" Stella asked looking back at her Grandmother with a questioning look. "Well it says that when Selene was banished, before she was locked in the moon she passed on her powers to someone she thought would be worthy enough to love the night sky that she had loved so much herself. She sees someone down here that she likes and gives it to them. And maybe.." Her Grandmother said getting up. "That someone is you." She lightly touched Stella's nose with her finger tip. Stella giggled then yawned. "Come on bedtime little one." She said picking the already half asleep Stella up and carrying her inside. Her Grandmother took her to her room and tucked her into her bed. "Good night my little Luna." She whispered plucking a kiss on her cheek. "Good night Granny." Stella replied as her Grandmother left the room closing the door behind her. Stella turned her head and looked out her bedroom window to see the moon looking down on her. "Granny says that you will give your powers to *yawn* anyone who will love the moon as much as you." Stella whispered to the moon. "Well I love the moon. Could I?" The moon shone down on her throw her window and Stella smiled. "I'll take that as a yes." Stella said before drifting off to sleep.
The next evening Stella and her grandmother were outside. Her grandmother was working in the garden while Stella played with her doll, Lucy, on the lawn. "I am Raven the goddess of the moon. And you are my royal subjects." Stella announced to her doll and grandmother. "Oh but your majesty." Stella said in Lucy's voice. "Why aren't you up there with the moon instead of being down here?" "Because" Stella said walking over to where she had sat her doll down in the grass. "Even goddesses need to see their royal subjects every once in a while." She said pickup her doll. "Well your majesty since your here could you help an old woman tend to her garden?" Stella's grandmother asked from where she was. "Well goddesses don't normally help with stuff like that." Stella said. "Well if you help this old lady she might just give you some of her fresh strawberries before she makes them into her special strawberry cream pie." Stella's grandmother said with a smile. "Yay! Strawberry pie! Oh let me help." Stella said forgetting about her play. She ran over and helped her grandmother pick strawberries. They had fill the basket full of strawberries and were about to go in when Stella saw something glimmering in one of the bushes. Stella bent over and pushed some of the leaves out of the way to find a small bracelet at the base of the bush. The bracelet was a pretty gold and blue color, it was a half band that had a chain and clasp in the back. On the front of the bracelet it had the 8 phases of the moon. "Look grandmother I found a bracelet." Stella said holding of the bracelet for her grandmother to see. "Well I'll be where did that come from?" Her grandmother said scratching her head. "No one has been up here for years and it definitely isn't mine." "Oh can I keep it grandmother can I can I?" "Well.. I guess there's no harm in it since there isn't really anyone that could have left it here." "Yay!!" Stella said jumping around her grandmother. "Well this is a good time to learn a lesson here let me see that bracelet Stella." Stella handed the bracelet to her grandmother. "See these different pictures of the moon?" Stella nodded. "Well they each have a name this one is called the New Moon, this one is called the Waxing Crescent, this one is the First Quarter, then this one is the Waxing Gibbous, the Full Moon, the Waning Gibbous, the Last Quarter, and the Waning Crescent." Her grandmother said pointing to each picture while saying it's name. "Here let me see your wrist." Stella held out her wrist for her grandmother to help put on the bracelet. "Now let's go make some pie!" Her grandmother said getting up and walking into the house. Stella followed then stopped looking back at the moon. She looked at the bracelet then back at the moon. "Thank you." She whispered. At that moment it looked like the moon shown just a little bit brighter. Stella smiled then ran into the house to help her grandmother make pie.

Ace of Hearts
Name:
Monochrome
Name Meaning:
Wikipedia wrote:For an image, the term monochrome is usually taken to mean the same as black and white or, more likely, grayscale, but may also be used to refer to other combinations containing only tones of a single color, such as green-and-white or green-and-black. It may also refer to sepia displaying tones from light tan to dark brown or cyanotype (“blueprint”) images, and early photographic methods such as daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes, each of which may be used to produce a monochromatic image.
Gender:
Male
Age:
9 Years old.
How I was Raised:
My so-called brother and I were separated at a young age. He to be with machines, and I as well. But.. Something was different. Very different. These machines I worked with made no conversation, gave no comfort or security. Day in and day out, I'd watch these machines, tinkering with loose bolts and rusty joints, inside many different mechanisms. I was small, so I was able to fit into smaller spaces. I was perfect for this sort of job.
I was raised without any sort of parental figure, taken in by an older couple that had never learned to raise a child nor give love or affection. I had to work to support myself, as they were too old to do any of these jobs that were available. I didn't mind not getting much attention. I was used to it by now. I got all the interaction that I needed as I was working. I haven't really told you what I do, have I? I work in clockworks and factories. I work in the machines of London. I maintain the elderly gears to make sure they're in top working order. I'm alone most of the day, listening to the cranking gears. Not much interaction, aside from my superior telling me what to do for the day. It gets lonely sometimes, but I get through.
Monochrome is a hard worker, generous and kind, but he hasn't really had the interaction of others in his life that he desperately needs as a child. This has made him awkward and quiet around people his age. He never really feels like he fits in. It upsets him at times and he feels that nobody would ever like him, that he won't be able to make friends and be what he sees as normal.
Favorite Objects:
Monochrome's favorite object closest to his heart is a giraffe made out of older gears. He'd collected them over the years he'd been working and finally had enough to make something out of them. His favorite animals being giraffes, it was only logical for him to make one out of the gears.
A close favorite of Monochrome's is a small silver bolt he wears around his neck. This bolt reminds him of of his brother and gives him the comfort he desperately needs when he's feeling lonely. He keeps this necklace close to him at all times, being within dangerous machines all day. Losing this bolt would devistate him.

My Favorite Song:
The Veldt-deadmou5
Happy life with the machines
Scattered around the room
Look what they made
They made it for me
Happy technology
Outside the lions run
Feeding on remains
We'll never leave
Look at us now
So in love with the way we are
Here,
The world that the children made
The world that the children made
Here
The world that the children made
Here
The world that the children made
Every night
They rock us to sleep
Digital family
Is it real or is it a dream
Can you believe in machines
Outside the beating sun
Can you hear the screams
We'll never leave
Look at us now
So in love with the way we are
My Greatest Desire:
Monochrome's greatest desire above all else is to see his brother again. He feels tired of being alone all the time and hopes that his brother will accept him for who he is because his brother loves him, or so he likes to think. But he knows deep down that Cognium doesn't remember him. Or he might. He doesn't really know.
I don't want to be alone anymore. Sometimes I just lay out in the grass somewhere and stare up at the stars at night, wondering and hoping that he may be out there, looking for me, wondering how I'm doing, hoping I'm okay just like I do for him. I think about meeting him sometimes, but I can't quite remember what he looks like. We have to look similar, don't we, because we're related? I don't really know... But thinking about it sometimes makes me feel better, happier, and I go to bed with a smile on my face. Just the hope that he would remember me and be my brother is enough for me.

Name:Stellar
Name Meaning: Stellar means "Out of this World"
Gender:I see this bean as a girl. c:
Age: Stellar is twelve years old, she's older than her brother.
How I was Raised:I lived in labs along with my brother,we almost never got to be free or released outside into the courtyard.
Robots raised my brother, what raised me,I do not know. They were different beings..out of this world. We slept in cold rooms on soft and fluffy cots, the air in the room was full of water vapour and humid. We ate pellets that was supposed to have the exact nutrients of a certain food item and have the taste of it.Instead of water they gave me a silver blueish liquid which tasted odd like burnt bread mixed with sour milk.
The creatures never took me out into the sunlight so I never saw it and I never spoke of it.The rooms we lived in were made if clear plastic so we never had any privacy at all!The floor was blue and the occasional mild grew under the silver table in our room that we never touched. One night when the security cameras were off I snuck out of the building in the ventilation systems.I bugged my little brother to come with me but he was too loyal to the computers and fake machines to leave,"They raised us after all."he told me with a blank stare. But I refused to believe that, they were fake, they had no feelings!I couldn't leave him though. He wouldn't survive a week here if wasn't for me...But that was along time ago..I was sick of the place so I ran away.I didn't wake up my brother because he would report me to the robots.I ran into the woods and didn't look back...that was the last time I saw the lab.
Favorite Objects:My favourite objects?Well..one of them is a small photo of shooting star I saw one night..Another object I love is a meteorite piece I found in the woods a few months ago!Its really cool and reminds me of the lab.

▒▒ Name:
Constellation
{Nickname- Draco, the dragon constellation.}
▒▒ Name Meaning:
A group of stars forming a pattern that is traditionally named after its apparent form or identified with a mythological figure.
▒▒ Gender:
Male
▒▒ Age:
8
{I'm just guessing he's younger than Cognium?}
▒▒ How I was Raised:
"Well... I don't remember it all from the beginning, but here's how Grace says it happened."
You may be wondering who this 'Grace' character is, she's Draco's current care taker, but even being taken in by her at a young age Draco refused to call her mom. She's since spoiled him, and, though loving, has decided his fate be set by the adoption agency.
When Constellation, who later would be called Draco, was born his mother suffered a fatal illness, when found in her deceased state, her two children were never found and thought to have never existed. We all know a little about Cognium, the first born. But what of the second child? What happened to him? It's vaguely told by Draco himself that he can remember a snarling noise, from the repeated syllables and such, Draco eventually figured out it was a language, he would not learn this language fluently, but can now vaguely communicate with feral dogs. Which are the animals that saved him, Cognium was gone long before, and the dogs found Constellation curled beside his mothers cold body. Taken in by the feral dogs Draco can only vaguely remember pieces from his life back then. He was found in a cave when he was 5 years-old, sent to an orphanage he was adopted by Grace, she slowly showed him that jelly bean dragons were good, and he began to trust again. Once he learned their language he found out that he was one of them, after that he didn't take well to Grace, unwilling to forget his early years of life. Raised by the feral canines he became fond of the night, and especially the stars which resembled his dark coat. He became obsessed with them, becoming very inactive in the day, saving his energy to play under the stars at night. Eventually this behavior made Grace grow tired, she gave Draco to the adoption agency with little complaint from him. In a way, it was hard for him to lose another life, but he grew more accustomed to the ways of the Jelly bean Dragons, and slowly forgot about his past.
▒▒ Favorite Objects:
- A necklace from which hangs a specialized glass tube, in which contains liquid titanium.
- A string around his tail that holds a small chip from what Grace claims was a genuine meteorite.
- A clip on "Hair Piece" That glows, it's rather silly but Draco thinks it makes him seem more like a star.
