The day my element was discovered:
When I was only a pup, my friends and I would play hide and seek in the woods. It was a small area, only holding a few dozen trees, so there weren't many places to hide. The best spots to hide were at the top of the trees, hidden among it's green leaves. However I was a runt and could never reach the branches. Because of this, I was always the first Kia found. One day I got tired of always being it and gave up. When my friends returned to play more hide and seek, they all immediately began climbing up different trees. I decided to give one last shot and ran a tree with low branches. I jumped and i reached, but there was no hope. I was heart broken and began to cry. I curled up under the tree and imagined it's branches scooping me up and carrying me to it's top. To my surprise, one of the branches began to move closer to me. It frightened me at first, but then it picked me up and passed me to the next branch. I remember rubbing my eyes to check if I was dreaming but it was all real. For the first time in a while, I began to smile, then laugh, then I reached the top. The view was breathe taking. The tops of the trees glimmered over the horizon and the clouds made their was across the sky with such elegance. To this day it was the best part of my life. Every day after that, I was always the last one found. 'Gnat," They would say, "how can you climb so high? You're nothing but a runt!" When I told my friends that the trees were magic they never believed me. They just laughed and made fun of me, calling me crazy and stupid. Those words hurt the most. I stopped playing hide and seek with my friends. Instead I would spend time with the trees. My favorite tree was a large elm that stretched into the clouds. Its branches seemed like miles long to me. Early in the morning, I would sneak out of bed and visit my elm. It would take me to the very top and I would watch the sun rise. I would walk to the very end of it's branches and reach for the little ball of fire rise above the horizon. We kept many secrets, the trees and I. No body but me knew they were magic, well, at least believed they were.
One night it began to storm. It rained all night waking me with claps of thunder. I was worried about the trees, especially my elm. I looked out my bed room window and saw the unthinkable. My elm was struck by lightning. It snapped and fell to the ground with a boom. My eyes welled with tears and I ran outside. My mother heard me run out the door and chased after me. "Gnat," She said, "Get inside now, you will get hurt." I didn't listen. I ran and ran until I lost her. Finally I reached my elm, now just a stump. I walked over to the fallen tree and sat on its trunk. i was soaking wet but I didn't care. My friend was gone. After that I just let the tears fall. However, when the first tear hit the ground a little sprout rose from the earth. Then another tear fell, along came another sprout. It took about seven tears for me to realize what was happening. I observed the little sprouts up close. My tears were creating them! Then it hit me, It was not the trees that were magic, I was.

I always knew I had a connection with the Earth, but I could never have guessed it was my element. It was almost as if when I was warm, the Earth itself was warm.
It was winter. That's the first thing I can tell you. An especially cold winter.

the day my element was discovered;;
You know, I’ve always had this strange connection to the earth. I don’t know what exactly it was, but something always made me want to stoop down to the dirt, bury my nose in it, and see what wonders it beheld. The one day I discovered my element, it was truly eventful

I was on a hiking trip. It was me and a bunch of others, all just hiking and chatting, enjoying the cool mountain air as it cleaned our lungs of the city-tainted air of our town. I stopped and picked a leaf, even though the ranger told us not to, and let it fall, watching as it swirled toward the ground in a twist of greens and browns. I sighed, watching it fall to the ground. I loved plants, to the point of being unhealthy. I can watch plants grow, and I swear, make them bloom. No one believes me, though. The park ranger caught me looking at the leaf, giving me a hard stare. I sneaked a guilty smile before running back into my group.

I was the loner, as usual. I’ve been called ‘Ingrid the hermit’ and ‘Ingrid the silent’ too many times –believe me, I wish I had a nickel for every time someone said it—so it doesn’t really bother me anymore. But the ‘having no friends’ part does. I used to have friends, before ‘the things’ started happening. Like the time I make a sandcastle explode. But that’s beside the point, right? And the time a tree started blossoming in the middle of December. I can’t explain it. There is this huge rush of energy when something like that happens- I feel like the pure life of the earth is running through my veins, like I could make an 100-foot tree come crashing down, or flowers cover the surface of the planet. It’s strange, alien, and unavoidable.

But the odd thing is- it always happens when I am least expecting it. It never comes at the time when I need it, when I want to save a dying plant from the sun or a tiny earthworm washed out by rain. It’s terrifying. So you can see why I started to freak out a little when I felt like I could run to the top of the mountain and back all of a sudden. The kia next to me was giving me a weird look, probably because I was pacing in circles, not going anywhere.

“What’re you looking at? I’m fine! Fiddly as a fit! No, fit as a whistle. Fiddle! Sorry, sorry.” I grimaced, trying to hold back whatever was inside of me. The ranger kept walking, and somehow, I managed to make it with them to the top. He started in his annoyingly monotone voice. “This area of the mountain has always been contaminated by poison. No flowers have grown here in twenty years blah blah blah yada yada yada.”

I was sitting on the ground, paws covering my ears. This was supposed to be an enjoyable evening! One where I could just relax and be Ingrid for once, not the shy, façade-covered girl that likes to read and hides in closets. And then I broke. Fireworks went off in my brain, sparks exploding behind my eyes. It felt like I was watching myself. I fell into the dirt, and frowned. Why where colors coming up around me? Then I saw them. “Oh!” a sigh came from all the kias in the group. Flowers had jumped up, covering what the ranger had called a barren land. It was beautiful, with splashes of blue, pink, and yellow. It looked like a remambrant painting!
The ranger was looking at me, a stunned look on his face. “Ingrid? Did you do this?”
And I knew, then, that my life would never be the same after that.

When I was making this art, I started out by thinking of something from a child's point of view. With a crayon, or watercolors. Then I went in and added these little details, like you see in nature. A leaf isn't green- It's green and brown and yellow and blue. I tried to represent the midset of a child when I made this art.

~Fall Out Boy's Return~

Name:
I will name her Gaea, after the Greek Goddess of the earth.

Gender:
This beautiful Kia strikes me to be a girl.

The day my element was discovered:
Dear Diary,
You will never believe what happened last night. I was taking a walk in the woods, and something happened. Something, really weird...
Okay, so I was walking, right? It was the middle of the day. The sun was bright, the breeze was warm, and the birds tweeted up in the trees. The forest is my favorite place to go and relax... Get away from all the stress, you know? My family at home are always fighting, and this was my only escape from all that.
Looking at my paws in front of me, there was a small, red mushroom. It had a black arrow on the top of it, pointing left. That was off of the trail. I laughed, and prodded it. Thinking of a little game, I decided to follow the arrow. I had absolutely no idea what was happening.
After a while, I found a little frog. A little, black frog. It looked up at me with big, black eyes. It was the cutest thing! It had an arrow on it too. "You want me to follow you?" I asked the little amphibian, giggling. It hopped ahead a few feet and stopped, as if it was waiting for me. I caught up to it and it leapt a few more feet ahead. Eventually I was just chasing it, no pauses.
I approached a large tree. The little frog and hopped into a hole in the tree, nowhere to be seen. "Hey, where'd you go?" I asked it, peeking through the little hole. Everything was silent. Out of nowhere, the earth began to shake. I fell backwards, and I felt the earth sink in underneath me. The earth began to shake more, and I widened my eyes in horror as the earth in front of my paws began to open up. I screamed and ran back a few feet, hiding behind a giant rock. I hid there for about five minutes, and the shaking stopped.
It was the weirdest thing... Because when I looked back at where I was, there was a cave. That cave wasn't there before then. I slowly crept forward, and I saw the little frog again, sitting outside of the cave. "There you are!" I exclaimed, trotting towards the little creature. It hopped inside of the cave, and I froze. I had no idea what I was about to get myself into, but my paws were itching to find out what was in that cavern. Ignoring my gut instinct to turn back, I trotted inside, following my little frog friend.
The cave was lit up by glowing mushrooms that lined the floor. The ground was soft and mossy, making my paws feel protected and snug. The cave really wasn't that scary, and I continued my pursuit of the frog. "What have you gotten me into....?" I asked the little frog quietly, looking around as I walked slowly. I had walked for quoting five minutes, and the frog was gone. I hadn't seen it hop away or anything. It was just gone. "Hello?" I asked, starting to get a little scared. I was lost.
I had no other choice but to go forward, so I did so. I could hear the trickling of water around me, and the cave began to grow more and more lush. The glowing mushrooms were beginning to disperse, being replaced by a strange light from an unknown source. One time I caught a vine weaving around my leg, as if it didn't want me to go. Like a little child clinging to its mother. I shook it off gently, and it recoiled back to where it was. Things were getting really weird.
I looked ahead of me, and saw the cave open into a clearing. It was amazing. A waterfall flowed from a hole in the ceiling, leading into a crystal clear pond full of little frogs, including my little friend. Lily pads floated on top of the pond. There was a bed made of flowers and moss off to the side, and to the other side were trees and bushes, full of fruit and vegetation. The earth beneath my feet was grassy and soft. Looking down at my sun charm, I looked at the ceiling. There was a glowing carving above me on the cavern roof in the exact same pattern. I hard a voice echo around me, and I froze.
"Welcome home, Gaea."

    Tempest Rain

    N a m e:
    Jade

Her parents named her Jade because it was her birthstone and it means timid and virtue. Jade's parents thought it suited her and was a very pretty name. In fact the meaning of the name describes Jades personality fairly well, and Jade loves her name as well.

    G e n d e r:
    Female

The day my element was discovered:

Jade lived in the forest with her family, and all of her life she has always had a motivation to help out and give back to nature what nature has given to us so to speak. She used to venture into the woods frequently to play with the woodland animals and she generally got along with everyone and anyone. Jade is kind by heart and she always thought about others rather than herself. She always loved helping injured or sick animals and she has a soft spot in her heart for animals.

The very beginning that started it all for Jade...

Jade advanced through the forest at a fast pace, she couldn't wait to meet with her friends in the forest. Some people thought of her as strange, but she just thought those Kias were cruel to never even have a second thought about the other animals around them. Jade busted out of a bush and called to her friends and within seconds birds and other critters came scurrying towards her, she played games and held competitions with them for a while and they had a great time and all enjoyed the time they shared together.

Jade lost track of time and before they knew it the sun had started to lower from the sky until it remain yet a mere sliver in the horizon. She sighed and said her goodbyes to her friends and told them she'd see them again tomorrow.

As she walked down the grassy trail, she noticed a fox from the corner of her eye, the timid animal moved closer to her and then backed away looking slightly unsure of what it was doing. The fox moved closer again and then took a few steps back and turned its head towards the deeper part of the forest, the animal did this a few times trying to indicate something, Jade had just stared at the young fox wondering what he had wanted. Growing frustrated the fox ran up to Jade and nipped at her leg gently and motioned towards the thicket and trotted towards there. Confused, Jade followed after and with her surprise she found the fox had brought her to his mate who was stuck in a trap under some bushes and had nearly had her back leg torn off. Hurt and sorrow pricked at Jade's heart and she could feel tears trickle down the side of her face as she looked at the poor innocent animal.

Jade looked around her surroundings, she was on a cliff and the fox lay below in some hawthorn bushes. She tried to work her way down to the fox but her attempts were wasted because there were no way she could safely make it down to were the fox lay. She had no idea what to do, she begged and pleaded asking for just a little bit of help, enough to save this poor soul.

Her pleas were answered as the evergreen beside her miraculously moved towards her. She stood dumbfounded for a few moments and realized that the tree was there for her to use the branches as a ladder to get down the cliff. Jade didn't question it and she leaped from branch to branch until she was face to face with the dangerous hawthorn bush that her mother always told her to stay away from. She closed her eyes wondering how she will get through, as she opened them she realized the Hawthorn bush had moved over enough to clear a trail straight to the female vixen. Jade then realized she was born with a gift, a gift to be able to communicate with nature and use it to help others. She ran directly over to the vixen and broke the trap as fast as she could, although it was a bit tough to do, but Jade managed.

She helped the vixen up and helped tend to her wounds and Jade stayed with them until the vixen was good to leave with her mate. The foxes bid her farewell and she was overjoyed she was able to save that fox. She looked to the sky thanking those who helped her along the way and she dipped her head in a respectful manner towards the forest before leaving.

Jade's love for others as well as nature has brought to her a useful gift, and she will do all in her power to use it to help others and she believes this was her mission in life was to help others. After all, it's not every day you get to do something you love, but for Jade that was made a reality and she never regrets her choice.

When I woke up, it certainly smelled like rain...but maybe I was wrong because the ground was dry when I went outside.
I’d always loved the feeling of the grass in between my toes. It was was luxuriously soft and even better when there was a little dew on it. Come to think of it, I’d always loved climbing trees, and making mud-pies too.
Honestly, I found utter peace and harmony in nature. It was my escape. It was beautiful.
Anyways, I ventured outside, shortly after rolling out of bed, my usual routine of spending 10 minutes lying in the grass before actually getting up to do something. The clouds moved quickly by in comparison to the rooted trees in place next to me. The leaves rustled a bit in the breeze, bringing a smile to my face.
I closed my eyes in divine pleasure, tuning out the rest of the world. And smiling with my eyes closed. My greenish-brown color allowed me to blend in with the late summer grass, you could tell it was fading into autumn; my favorite season.
It was one of those kinds of perfect moments when you can just lay there, and be happy. So I began reflecting on myself, as always.

*flashback*

Sweltering hot, it was that mid-summer day where the sun roasts anything in its path, beating down on the pavement, making it hot to the touch, and warming our backs as my 7-year-old friends and I play the best game ever; hide-and-seek.
Last round I was counting, so now I get the chance to hide, being smart enough to realize the camouflage my coat offers to me.
“...15, 16, 17...” I hear my friend counting as I snuggle myself under a pine tree in the shade, hoping to cool off a bit while I wait for my friends to find me.
“...28, 29, 30, here I come!” I hear through my heavy breathing. I close my eyes and prick my ears, using only my hearing to find the seeker.
As my breathing levels out, I hear someone’s paws softly treading on the grass and dirt just a few feet from my hiding spot. I try to mask my excitement as much as possible, hoping they won’t see me.
No more than 45 seconds pass before the bright paws stalk off to find someone else, their owner determining that no one was there.
The paws don’t return to my hiding spot until another set follows along beside them. I hear a bit of quiet murmuring but nothing more.
“Aura! Where are you?” the owner of the second set of paws yells out. I smile but don’t give myself away. I just sink deeper into the bed of comfortable pine needles that I have been nestled in. I close my eyes and hear the steady beat of my heart against the ground which I am so happy in. I don’t open my eyes again, but I know the two seekers have left again.
I mentally start humming a song, quiet, soft, like a lullaby. I guess that’s what puts me to sleep. Well, that and the serenity of my surroundings.

*end flashback*

I re-open my eyes from the sweet memory from so long ago. I hadn’t woken up until my friends had found me, crouching down low enough to find me under the pine tree, softly cooing my voice and trying to wake me from my peaceful rest, quite reluctantly, might I add.
It had been from then on that I realized my love for nature was more powerful than most other’s. It was from then on that I determined my true element.
Nature.
Earth.
Beautiful, simple, Earth.

Exᴛʀᴀ - Pᴏᴇᴍ ᴅᴇᴘɪᴄᴛɪɴɢ ʜᴇʀ ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ;;
They told me I wouldn't make it
Well I say that they're all wrong
Delusional, perhaps
Because I will make it
I know I can
And so I will

I sang a song
A simple song
With a pleasant melody
I sang a song
A silly song
And they told me I was strange

But I didn't care
I carried on
Doing just what I did
And hoped for the best
While they put me to the test

So when I went out and proved them wrong
They gave me plenty of sour looks
And I didn't care
I just smiled and said,
"You'll see someday, don't you worry,
If you put your mind to something, you can accomplish anything"
I left them with a smile, sincere, pure, and truthful

Someday they'll wish upon a star
And when their wish comes true
They should remember that if they believe in it
It will come true
