I drew her with a Chihuahua because like the Chihuahua, although she is small in size, she knows no fear. Like her namesake, she is very brave although she is very small in size. Like the old proverb says, "Its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the Size of the Fight in the dog."

Origin: Abelena is a name used as long ago as the 8th century, particulary in England and then, the English colonies. It has never been used with extreme popularity. It's roots are Latin and is another spelling of Abellana or Avellana, all meaning the same thing. Abelena is also a city in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Now, this name DOES have an important meaning to me. It was the name of my Spaniard Grandmother, Abelena, who passed away when I was young. I remember when I went over to her house and made empanadas with her. She'd tell the funniest of stories, especially those of when she was a teacher. She was a short, small woman, about four foot five, but she had the heart of a lion and a spirit of fire. Owning this JBD would be like having my grandmother back, in a sense.
