There's actually a story behind this image- this platypus is one of the breeding platypus located at the Healsville Animal Sanctuary in Victoria, Australia.The Healsville Sanctuary has the distinction of being the first place in the world to successfully breed a platypus! It was bred in the 1940's, and was lucky enough to repeat this event in 1999 with the birth of twin platypus (platypi?). They've got a wonderful conservation programme running for the platypus!
