What is a Jewel Mane Dragon
A Jewel Mane Dragon is a large creature with jewls on their foreheads and tails.They eat mostly small mamals such as birds, squirels, and rabbits. The fur on their back, hind, and front legs feel like the softest of silk and is pretty short. The fur around their neck (Also know as their mane) and tail is very soft, fluffy, and long. Jewel mane Dragons mostly keep to themselves but when they find someone they like the grow very attached, loyal, and talkative. They're all slightly bigger than a mustang but some grow to be as large as a elephant. All Jewel Mane Dragons have jewels at the end of their tail and on their forehead, there's really no exception to that rule. The jewel on their tail is used as a weapon in combat and hunting, while the jewel on their forehead is used during mating season to atract females.

Why this name?:
I choose this word to represent her because I decided, if I'm going to try and adopt a final fantasy based character, I should read up on what it is all about. I've only ever heard about it, not played it. So wikipedia (Bad website for information >.>) explained final fantasy's plot in these terms:
I instantly was drawn to the word 'destined'. It was perfect. But I wanted it to be more represented to her theme. So I searched where Final Fantasy was made & first released. That, was japan! So, because I do not speak Japanese, I went onto google and translated 'Destined' from english to japanese and the result, Unmei dzuke rareta. Though I don't think dz is possible in the japanese language. But I like the name anyway, so that way it shall stay.

Any good hero knows that selflessness is what makes a good soul. A pure soul. Unmei puts others before herself, tries to be the one to help dreams come true. Though it's not exsactly selfless if this is what she enjoys doing. She considers herself to be 'bullet proof'. She wants to be their for everyone. Help everyone. She doesn't enjoy seeing anyone suffering. She once slept on a sidewalk during a freezing night just to keep an elderly woman warm.
Couragous
It takes courage to be able to be 'selfless'. Unmei tries her hardest to show others how to be as brave as she. She tries to show them courage is a mental state, fear is a thought that crosses your mind before you do something. It's the thought that says 'what if that spider bites you? It will hurt won't it?'. Unmei tries to think of those she is trying to help and how happy they will be once she helps them.
Responsible
Though not everyone enjoy's Unmei's "responsible" trait, being responsible for her actions, and the actions of others is something that makes her unique to her own. She knows that everything she does has a consequence, and weither that consequense is good, or the opposite, which is what she has tried to run from her whole life, she just tries to help.
Sheltered
Being openly generous and caring of others creates a wall between Unmei and the world. She doesn't like to let them know what is running through her brain, or what she's thinking. She just tries to let everyone tell her things about them, so she can help them. Maybe this has something to do with her history of letting people in who hurt her.
Faithful
Unmei is incredibly faithful that help will come no matter your situation. She tries to help everyone be faithful that there will always be someone to confine in. Someone who will help them and be as selfless as she to the saftey of others. She believes that faith comes ones after something bad happens, in order for something good to come, faith must be present in ones mind.

Blazing A Trail
Name of Artwork: Blazing A Trail
Artists Statement: I thought of this character & her being themed of Final Fantasy and my take on her being 'Destiny' so I thought a headshot like so would look very inviting and would polish up nicely. I attempted a new style of shading which i've seen around the forum & had my hand at it. I believe is come up quite nicely with this specific character. I used the idea of a 'snow storm' to incorporate the background etc.

Artists Statement: This lineart was made by myself for a different jewel mane dragon (the reindeer JMD) and I thought that it was worth a try to see how Unmei's design would look. The shading & Highlights had to be adjusted slightly, but other than that, it all come up clear and clean. The overal idea of this pose was 'gazing' as if the JMD was looking at the stars. I thought Unmei could be seen as a star gazer, as if she's asking them for guidence.

Artist Statement: I took the idea of this artwork from Titanium, where the boy is curled up in a ball. I felt that this was the way I felt with this character. I felt like there were so many bullets flying at me from everyone else, and from all the other competitors for this specific Jewel Mane Dragon. So I decided to turn that feeling into an artwork. So tada. It is yet to be completed with colours, but is grey currently to represent Titanium.

Artist Statement: This artwork, I felt was going to be quite simple, but was going to represent so much, and it does! This artwork represents how this jewel mane dragon is a gem to me. She is spectacular, shiney, and she is just fantastic. So I thought, this would represent her in more than one way. Through her beauty, through her preciousness, through her grace and of course, through what she means to me.

What will become of Unmei?:
She will live here with all of my other characters. I will draw her constantly and buy art of her and find her a mate. Unmei deserves to be pampered, and treated with the kind of love only a dream character should be treated with. She is my dream character and I will not let her be mistreated in my home. She'll have plenty of friends, stories and art to adventure through and a wonderful home to explore.
Why do you want to adopt her?
I really want this specific Jewel Mane Dragon because she is so me. She's so, unique and herself, and i'll never find another character like her. She's perfect, and I don't think i've ever found a character that is just, perfect. She is more than a character to me though, she's like a being that is stuck inside the computer, and I only wish that she could be real, I only wish that she could actually exist outside the networking world. I see her, and it's almost like i want her to help me. I want her to just, be with me and I want to love her, and I can only wish that my form expressed my LOVE for her, and I can only wish that you can see that, and can see how much love she will be given and how my heart will only sink if I dont get her. I don't think i've ever felt this way about any other character, and I think I could write about her all day... She's pretty much all I can think about. But I cannot be selfish and say I'm going to complain and be rude to whomever happens to get her if I am unlucky enough to miss out on this fantastic creature, I will hold my head high and hopefully keep in touch with her owner <3
