Story:
As a young colt, Rome's life was simple. The only thing he had to worry about was fights with his brothers. He had yet to become the highly feared, yet respected stallion he would grow up to be. He had three other brothers, whom he did not like to have much to do with. The group of wily stallions meant trouble and they were quite the dysfunctional group. They wreaked chaos wherever they went. Rome was the quiet one, he rarely spoke. He didn't much like to become involved with the others' issues. Eventually, they group grew apart. They could not live together with all their rivaling differences. So they broke off, to peruse their own lives. Take claim for their own destinies. It was for the best, after all. Rome liked the new solitude that came with his new found freedom, it was a refreshing change from all the constant bickering. However, it was hard for him to bond with others very well, for wherever he went he brought upon misery. He used to hop from one herd to the next as they would not let him stay long. Eventually Rome gave up on this, and consented himself with simply being a loner. He had decided he didn't need the safety and protection a herd would have to offer, because he thought himself to be quite the strong and invincible stallion. That was, until the humans managed to find him. He had been stupid, straying much too close to their desert settlements. To his surprise, they had already started forming myths and legends about him. They said it was a true curse to ever take sight of Rome, and that instead of bringing rain, he prevented it. He was one of the four heralds of immense bad luck, along with his three other brothers. The humans feared him, hated him even. As soon as they caught sight of them, it struck fear into their hearts. They wanted to kill him. They wanted to rid the world of him, as they thought of him to be an evil demon spawned from hell. They nearly succeeded too, for Rome's arrogance was his one major flaw. Covered in gashes and bruises, Rome retreated back into the desert. He was immensely weakened, something he had not thought to be possible. From that day on he promised to bring misfortune upon the humans that wronged him. He was known to hold nasty grudges and to have a cruel heart. He wanted to see the pathetic humans suffer. They never threatened him again.
