Prompt 19
As the team slipped through the servant's entrance, their eyes alighted on their Demon King. The fiend had the same face as their King that they each knew well from his public visits: gray furred and kind with bright blue paw pads and eyes - King Pip. He often adorned himself with vibrant clothing to make up for his plain appearance, which indicated initially that he is pure of heart.
Yet, before them, this King Pip was corrupted. Ripples of obsidian ran through his fur, making it seem as if they were looking into a dark pool, and his eyes had glints of purple in them and carried a soft glow. The shadowy beast wrapped around the former king contorted his appearance with mutations, all purple and glowing. King Pip had sprouted horns and shadowy limbs that nearly made it look like it was two kalons instead of one (an extra tail - set of ears - limbs). A single, larger eye blinked at the seat of his head, above the natural two - this one, a pure dark purple and glowing intenser than any other part of King Pip, like the window into their soul. A red and gold halo interlaced with purple hovered over their head like a crown.
Ulyana, Ragiel, and Sen all drew in a breath at the sight of their contorted King. We have to save them, seemed to be the overall consensus between them.
They were ready.

Prompt 19 | Jia-Ae | Roster Post | word count: 154
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Tʜᴇ ꜰᴀᴄᴇ ᴏꜰ ᴇᴠɪʟ! ( Your heroes find themselves before the door to the final boss! As they open the door, tell me what they think of this enemy, before the fight! What sort of villain has been responsible for all this mess?)
Jia-Ae walks through the silence of the castle for a while, unsure where to go but the path leading to something bright drawing him in. But in an instant, a roar could be sounded through the doorway and something looking like the final boss of a game came into view, eyes sharp and menacing, a growl ripping through it's throat as it nears Jia-Ae.
The male takes a step back. His eyes are unbelievably wide as he stares and gasps a little bit. Out of surprise, of course- not out of fear above else. He immediately takes note of how ugly and horrifying the monster seemed in all it's glory- but it fit with the castle, dark and eerie. It was also loud, and the noises the monster made pounded against Jia-Ae's temple and gave him a headache blooming from within.
The male groans and pulls his sword, eyes narrowed and ready to fight.

Prompt - 19Kalon PartyDustin | Sell-sword | 17 years old → A hyper but forgetful boy with a good
heart and a wish to see the world
Perseus | Scholar mage | 25 years old→ Dustin's relatively reserved mentor,
and reluctant but wise accompaniment
Jade | Shadow puppeteer | 24 years old→ A graceful but painfully shy woman
with a cynical outlook on life
386 words____________________________________
They had been creeping along the dark passageway for far too long when Dustin -quite literally- stumbled upon a flight of stairs. After helping the boy up and convincing Perseus that they were more likely to die from tripping over their own feet in this dark than from a demon, Jade and her companions ascended with great caution. After what seemed like a mountain's worth of stairs the passageway finally evened out again and then came to an abrupt stop. Dustin was smushed up against the cold stone wall as Jade leaned over and fumbled with the latch, just as much crowded by how close Perseus had to squeeze to cast light upon the old door. With a click, the latch popped out of position and the door slowly creaked open, but before it could swing all the way open and before Dustin could go leaping out into danger, Jade caught it and pulled it back closed.
"Wait. Do you hear anything?"
Despite Dustin's desperate wrigglings distracting him, Perseus listened hard until his ears caught a hold of a soft growling. It was a rhythmic husky noise which sent shivers down his spine. Whatever creature was making the noise was incredibly large and he didn't fancy meeting it.
"A demon. Has to be. We shouldn't go out this- Dustin!!"
Dustin had swung open the door before Perseus had even finished his warning. The boy had always disliked small spaces; he would much rather face a fire breathing dragon than stay in that crawl space a moment longer! The fire breathing dragon around his neck just snorted softly. Jade and Perseus burst out behind him in a panic, the mage armed with his tome and Jade with the sword she still hadn't returned.
"Dustin! Get back!"
But the creature was not at all like any of them had pictured. It was small and humanoid and just the perfect size for the princeling bed that it was currently curled up in. The demon's snores rattled the pictures on the walls and Jade let out a soft sigh of relief.
"Look!"
"Don't shout, you'll wake- oh."
Peering over to where Dustin was pointing, Jade saw a huge whirling portal of purple. Shadows swirled around its edges and deep, dark dread found its way into her gut. What was that?

with ginko ─ the monk & odo ─ the warlock
silver tongue: [ 613 ]
the travelers walked on, the ground under neither they feet went from rough dirt to cold cobble stone. they could see nothing as they walked, but they could feel each other beside them and that gave the two some sort of reassurance. thick purple mist surrounded them and filled the hallway they were in, they boots made loud thumps as they walked through the seemingly endless hallway. their movements were alert as they walked, ginko held out his khakkhara in front of him running through a list of spells in case he needed to quickly attack something that decided to jump out in front of him. odo walked beside him wielding his large dagger at his side, his fingers gripped the handle tightly, he was on high alert for anything that might try to attack them in the darkness. it seemed as thought they had been walking forever and not getting anywhere when there was a clicking noise then the loud creaking of two heavy and tall doors opening. a shaft of light poured into the hall way where the two were standing, they shielded their eyes from the sudden change in lighting but walked into the large room. they were met with the sight of a large circular library. the floor was covered in a large red carpet that had golden trim at the edges. as ginko looked along the oak wood shelves that seemed to never end he noticed the dripping wax candles along the shelves, they stained the books beside and below them. ginko felt unease, his eyes trailed from the book shelves back down to the floor then that's when he saw him. a tall stranger shrouded in a silver and black robe, he had long brown hair and seemed to be hunched over a podium reading. ginko could hear him mumbling something but they were too far away to make out the words. [ something doesn't feel right here, get closer to the stranger? ]
✦ yes but quietly.
✧ no, make your presence known!
ginko looked at odo and made a gesture to keep quiet, he slowly took steps towards the tall stranger, he hadn't seemed to notice them enter the library. as they got closer the man's voice echoed through out the library clearly, he seemed to be reading a story. "the two travelers walked up to the stranger quietly, they thought that they had the element of surprise on the old fool but were highly mistaken. as they got closer they made out his words, and he seemed to be reading a story about them.. about the things going on in this very moment. telling a story about their every movement and thought. they were utterly confused and felt fear prick at their souls. then the stranger straightened up and turned around slowly, his rob drug along the red carpet smoothly as he faced them. his eyes were closed yet ginko could feel him looking straight through them both." the tall man did exactly as his words described, they were now facing a wise looking old man yet he reeked of death and poison. "the stranger then introduced himself, 'I am the one known as Silvertongue.. welcome to my library where you shall spend the rest of eternity as one of my storybooks.'" as this moment the doors behind the travelers slammed shut, the candles blew out and the man known as Silvertongue's eyes opened. they were deep purple and seemed to swirl about like the thick purple mist that surround his castle. our heroes may not get out alive this time..

prompt nineteen
kalon used: althea, peregrine, & james
[Continued off of this]
"Althea, are you alright? I mean, you kinda fought that thing head on-" Peregrine began, looking at a wound on Althea's shoulder. It wasn't life threatening, of course, but it didn't look all that pleasant nonetheless.
"I'm fine," Althea muttered, putting her paw on it. After some glow and roughly a minute later, the wound was gone, but Althea felt her energy drain. It wasn't a good scenario. She was weaker than normal, she had managed to fight some smaller demons without weapons, but she knew something larger was approaching. After all, an army needed a general, and this wasn't an exception with villains. There's always a leader behind something large, and Althea dreaded having to fight the creature. But, at least Peregrine and James were armed with weapons, and Althea had healing magic. She would live, and she would win this battle. No matter what it took, her and her team had to finish this once and for all. They had to take the castle back and save Kalokairi.
Looking down a gloomy hall, it was rather clear that a massive door was at the end. She assumed that this was where the leader of the demons resided; the new "king" of the castle, if you will. She gritted her teeth at the thought of the poor royal family being captured in there. They hadn't done anything wrong, after all, they were good people, and Kalokairi was prosperous under their reign. They had children as well. The thought made her all the more determined to fight the demon king, and she was ready to go in there, swords blazing.
"James, Peregrine, there isn't much of a strategy we can have with something like this," Althea started. "I don't know what we can do because I'm not sure what the leader of the demons will look like, but it's safe to say that we need to take any advantage we can. If you see an opportunity to attack, do so without hesitation. I will heal you should anything go wrong," she finished, looking back to the heavy door. After some walking, they were now in front of it, and an ominous purple glow came through the cracks of the door. She let out a small sigh, ready for the inevitable. Then, she threw the doors open.
The sight surprised her, and she was unprepared for how tall the boss was. The demon king was roughly four feet taller than Althea,
who was the tallest of the party, and the royal family was stuck in a large cage that was hanging from the ceiling. The family looked terrible, but a glimmer of hope came in their eyes when they saw the group; particularly in the children. Althea stared back at the demon king, assessing the enemy. He looked somewhat like the smaller demons she had fought before, with a numerous amount of eyes and massive, sharp teeth and claws. He let out a chuckle at the group, then it turned into an extremely deep laugh.
"This is what I'm up against?" the demon king said, when he could finally catch a breath. Althea looked onward and narrowed her eyes, curling her fingers to form two fists. She was ready.
"Demon king, you have taken the royal family, and as citizens of Kalokairi, we will make sure you pay dearly for your actions,"
she announced, and she could see Peregrine and James begining to draw weapons. It was time to start the fight. There would be no turning back now.
The demon king let out a sigh with a smile, and began to approach the group. Peregrine and James looked a bit too anxious and looked ready to back up a little, but did not. Althea was thankful for that, as they needed to show all the courage they had. The demon came close enough to Althea that she could count the claws on his hands, and then, he finally uttered four, simple words.
"Well then, let's begin."

anthony
There it was. A giant obsidian door, ornamented with two giant axes, stood between them and the cause of this entire journey. Every step they took, led up to this moment. They'd managed to fight off every other member of the dark regime, the castle was all but empty except for their last and greatest foe. They all looked at each other, eyes burning with resolution, every muscle fiber ready, and Donn pushed open the massive door steadily.
It opened soundlessly, and upon opening it, the room seemed totally dark. Save for a pair of glinting eyes, which sent shivers down Anthony's back, and two purple, ghostly flames on either side of the room, which managed to illuminate nothing, it was black.
"Finally."
A deep and ethereal voice boomed across the room, a ghastly timbre resonating throughout. At the same instant, the flames grew stronger with a burst of energy and the room was completely lit. It took everything within Anthony to not run when his vision cleared. What kind of man has no guards in his room? A man strong enough.
He was clad in completely black armor, oddly stylized armor, which was adorned by two skulls of dubious nature. He sat on a throne, which From his helmet, Anthony could barely make out the face, which had glowing, crimson eyes which seemed to pierce directly into the souls of the party.
"You're a mortal aren't you?" Donn pierced the silence, staring at the figure directly. The culprit stood up, releasing an aura that nearly forced the entire party to the ground. Slowly, it took steps down the throne, each movement making it harder and harder for Anthony to stay. Finally it was level from the party, and Anthony realized with horror he was kneeling. When he managed to pull himself he found Abel too was having trouble standing, but he didn't falter. Donn clenched his teeth and kept his footing, even though there were cracks in the ground where his feet were.
He stood maybe 10 feet from the party, and was silent as he raised his hands. The group tensed, reaching for their weapons despite the immense pressure on their bodies from his presence. But he did not utter a single, word, and merely took off his helmet, holding it at his side.
Anthony's eyes widened to find it was a man...just like them? Now that he looked closely, he did seem normal in-size, at-least, mortal, as he seemed only slightly larger than Donn. That was possible right? But still, he had a supernatural aura, and though his face seemed human, his neck seemed to have a black line of runes which tried to crawl up his face.
"You sold your soul, didn't you?" Donn spoke, but he gained no response. "Fool." The patriarch spat with venom. The man walked forward, with an air of impenetrable calm, though he dripped with malicious swagger with every step. Each motion he made tried to force the group down onto their knees, but with clenched fists and gritted teeth, none of them submitted.
He stood before them, helmet back on, inviting them to begin the final confrontation.
➣ This is the final fight. Are you ready to continue?
