Since the screaming pit had opened, Jackson had grown more and more concerned. Why did its inhabitants feel the need to scream so much? Maybe they were upset about something? He decided that he should check it out, to put his own mind at ease at the very least.
Jackson packed his backpack and started his trek through the forest, following the sounds of the screams. Some of the screams sounded so sad and angry, and it really hurt the poor Chicoon's heart. As he approached the edge of the pit, a note attached to a tree caught his eye. He stopped to carefully read it over, eyes widening as he got to the end.
They were hungry? The poor things! Were there not grocery stores in the pit? He knew he had to help, so he set his backpack on the ground and started to frantically go through it. He found some granola bars of various flavours at the bottom of the bag. It wasn't much, but Jackson really hoped that it would help. He walked right to the edge of the pit and tossed them in.
The screaming didn't change.

Prompt: Against the best wishes of his mind Mandarin found himself going back to the pit the next night. Even if they weren't suppose to go out by themselves he just couldn't help it. The curiosity about what was going on with this pit that seemed to scream just was to great. To his surprise there was a note at the edge of the pit today. It read that the pit needed fed? What that makes no sense... unless a chicoon was stuck down there! "Hey hey hold on! I'll be right back!" he yelled down into the pit. Though nothing responded to his cry he rushed back to his house. Grabbing some of his oranges he quickly went back to the pit. "I brought food! Hold on I'll send it down!" he shouted as he began to shove oranges down the pit. Smiling to himself slight as he shoved the last one down though he did really hear any of them hit the bottom. "There! Hope you like oranges!" he yelled sighing once he realized he wouldn't get an answer from this mysterious pit.
