Hey Ivvy, can I get some pointers? I don't know what I can do differently, because I've tried for several Plumies and I can't seem to win ;w;
I'd love a few tips to help me win in future comps?
Same for me, please
I used to love this site. I was very active, helped around with LO/LO, and engaged in the adopt communities. I found myself losing interest and seeing more toxicity on here and from people here over on other websites. I don't find myself on here anymore and I doubt I'll come back. To my friends: I miss you. I hope you're well. Hopefully 2020 gets better for us. See you on the other side.

Hhhhhhhh why
I'm probably re-color my art for future contests, I haven't got a Plumie quiet yet.
I'd also like some tips if at all possible, similar to BurningSnow.

I can't give pointers to everyone so I'll just mention here what it is I personally look for when I judge a form;
- creativity: I do NOT want to read about the same average, friendly girl who likes to read and drinks a lot of coffee. Or the boy that is shy so he stays inside and has no friends (tbh is this not Jay). ANyway, my point is that it really helps to have a concept ahead of time. I understand that it's more stressful when you have a very limited time, but it might be useful to use a character idea you already have. If you can't think of something new, try to work an old concept around the design. Combine things to make new ideas. It's not hard to be realistic and creative at the same time, and I love seeing ideas that are completely different from anything I've ever read in a form.
- depth: No, this doesn't mean 'likes/dislikes'. I'm talking about detailed pasts with plausible scenarios that will make me feel sympathy, or in some cases not, for the character. Not a sob story, god forbid, but I think it's hard to have a perfectly happy and upbeat past. Almost everyone has something terrible that they've experienced. Tell me about the plumerian's. When you write your personality, consider how their past has shaped them. How has their experiences influenced what they are like now? Personalities are very fluid and change constantly, so a general description of their overall self works too.
- quality: This can mean several things. Nice writing is absolutely important. If I'm confused by your writing portions, bored, or unable to concentrate because there's so much information, that can definitely be something that prevents you from winning. It's a little bit of effort to write quality, but it is great practice. I'm totally not against using thesaurus.com to enhance your words x) I also want to see a neat form. I'm talking about even proportions, easy to read font color, and maybe some decorations. Art is also pleasing to look at, but unless the comp is art based, that shouldn't be your number 1 focus.
tldr; Try to think of something no one else has- take the path less traveled when it comes to creating characters (this is not always true or applicable). Put some thought into the character you're writing about. What makes them who they are as a person? And make sure the form you're presenting to me is something I will like looking at.
Whew, I hope that answers some questions!!

^^ Thanks, Ivyy! ^^
I think I made mine a bit too sob-story-ish.
Which is strange for me because I usually despise them. Smh, I guess I was off my game.
