to be un-social, but like snow, he melts quickly. Nix turns into a genuine, lovely
horse, who is always trying to please his owner. He is full of energy, and is always
moving about.
History :: Nix was born out of a mare to a wild stallion. He was trained to the
saddle, and to the harness. His owners were forced to sell him, and they are leasing
him to Aria Brennan at WWS before she decides to buy him.

Story :: What colour are your eyes?
I stepped out of the car into the dusty parking lot, slamming the door shut. I made
my way to the office, looking over all the horses for sale. They were all incredible
horses - Such a shame they had to be sold. I scanned my eyes over all the beautiful
horses available, and my eyes caught on one horse instantly. A spotted draft stallion.
He was incredibly beautiful. I softly stroked his nose. He seemed to not be interested.
A bit cold. I sighed, continuing my walk to the office. I couldn't get the horse off of
my mind. I knew I could only take one of these horses home, and it would be hard
to decide. But for some reason, such a short encounter with that horse made me
want to see more of him.
I was met at the office by a kind, friendly woman, who took me through the stable
block containing the horses for sale. All but the draft were highly strung jumpers.
Not like I needed any more of those! I told the woman I wanted to hear more
about the spotted draft. He was trained to the saddle, and the harness. I
found it hard to think that a horse that seemed so cold was so well-trained.
We grabbed a saddle, putting it on the horse, who seemed almost like he
was ignoring us. The woman bridled him quickly, his forelock always covering his
eyes. I wonder what colour his eyes are..
I swiftly swung my right leg over the saddle, adjusting my stirrups. This horse
was huge! I asked him to walk on. He stepped lightly, with strength and power.
I had to persuade him many times to do something, but he soon began to respond.
It was like.. he didn't know where to go. I continued to ride him, and when I was
done, I knew he would be the one I would lease. Throughout the process of the
loading, I could tell the horse had warmed up to me. There was still no chance
for me to see what colour eyes he had.
When I finally had the horse settled in his stable back at WWS, I was just dying
to know what colour his eyes were. I pulled his forelock back, revealing bright,
icy blue eyes, staring back at me. I then looked at the eye on the other side.
It was the same icy blue, but it had a milky film over it. He was blind in one
eye! That's why he found it so hard to trust me. I patted his thick, muscly neck,
hoping our relationship would last longer - he would make an amazing carriage
horse!
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

A Minor Bird
I have wished a bird would fly away,
And not sing by my house all day;
Have clapped my hands at him from the door
When it seemed as if I could bear no more.
The fault must partly have been in me.
The bird was not to blame for his key.
And of course there must be something wrong
In wanting to silence any song.
-Robert Frost
Dust of Snow
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
