Keihäs means spear in Finnish. I chose this because I felt with his horn it fits him! His nickname would be Kei!

He just strikes me as a male! 

Keihäs has a pet Puffin named Lunni. Kei Found her as an egg. Lunni's nest had been destroyed and all the other eggs were broken or gone. Kei Took it upon himself to raise little Lunni, Keeping the egg in his pouch and going from there. Once she hatched he did everything a mother puffin would do. Lunni survived and now the pair is inseparable.

Personality; Kei has always been a little more on the quiet side. He prefers to spend his time alone, mostly enjoying the wildlife and ocean sights of his arctic home, fascinated by everything he found. From the Polar Bears to the penguins and even a few species of fish that somehow survived beneath the frozen wastelands.  He makes his observations, making sure not to do much to disrupt the sensitive Eco systems unless he absolutely had to. He is always inquisitive and full of questions that he believes nature had the answers too. He Is shy around others though his dear Lunni brings out his social side. Lunni is his world, she is everything to him and he would do anything to keep her happy and by his side. He is a sweet guy and loves to cuddle with little Lunni.
Quirks; Keihäs is Very OCD when it comes to his den. Everything has a set spot with a label. He has a panic attack every time something is misplaced. If something goes missing he will go on a cleaning frenzy to find it. Another one of Kei's Quirks is he has to turn in a circle at least twice on his bed before laying down to sleep and his tail has to be under something.

Iris
It is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Iris is "rainbow". A flower name. Mythology: Iris was a messenger-goddess who rode rainbows between heaven and earth to deliver messages from Olympus.

I chose this name because Iris was the Greek goddess who could fly between heaven and earth, which this particular JBD aches to do. While this JBD is a born swimmer, she wants to be able to touch the stars and the heavens as well. I think that the name, Iris, shows this as a major factor of who she is.

The Galapagos Cormorant

What is this cormorant? Even though cormorants are worldwide, the flightless, waterbird of the Galapagos is an endangered species. Although there are twenty nine other flightless species of cormorants, this cormorant is unique to the Galapagos. The Galapagos flightless cormorant has strong webbed feet, helpful for catching fish, eels, and small octopi- yummy. This bird's feathers are not waterproof, and must spend time drying themselves after each dive.

Now, why does Iris keep the cormorant as a companion? Because they both share the same views- they are both grounded, flightless birds, eager to reach up to the stars and touch them. They are down in the depths of the great blue, but have no way to the heavens.

Into The Ocean ~ Blue October

Why is this her theme song? This song portrays an image of a young boy jumping off of the bow of a ship, and slowly loosing the will to keep afloat. Although this song is about a depressing subject, it also speaks to a very positive theme: breaking off and getting away. Iris wants nothing else than to get away, to break off from the norm and achieve. I think that this song speaks very well to that theme in life all over, and it does the best at portraying Iris's want to get away.

Dreamy

Iris has her head in the clouds. She has great dreams and goals, and often spends hours pondering them and imagining what it'd be like to achieve her goals. She also spaces out, a lot, and is a fairly distracted individual because of all the time she spends pondering her dreams.

Rebellious

Iris has this big thing against society. Nobody knows what, but she wants to show society that it doesn't own her and can't control her. She breaks social norms, and her manners aren't the best. She wants everyone to know that nothing can control them, and she seems to work hard at showing everyone that there is more than the day-to-day expectations and standards that we all love by.

Dutiful

Even though Iris's head is in the clouds, her feet are planted firmly on the ground. She knows what she has to do, and will do it. She doesn't procrastinate or wait on anything, no matter what. She just gets the job done and over with, so that she can move on with her life. After all, what the point of waiting around on one measly task after another.

Quarrelsome

Iris will speak up for herself, which often lands her in trouble. She's very hard-headed and stubbourn, and opinionated. If she thinks she's right, you know it. She'll argue with everyone and anyone just to defend her opinion, and she won't stop. When it comes to her beliefs, she doesn't know when to stop, and will just keep going.

Encouraging

"Go for it, nothing wrong with trying." Iris's personal motto. She doesn't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to get what you've worked hard for, or that you want more than anything. She wants everyone to reach their goals, and is willing to help. She's a pretty good coach, considering her positive attitude towards trying and achieving. She knows the feeling of success more than anyone, and is one of the best to turn to for positive reinforcement.

Well, after long searching, clicking and resorting to thinking, I decided to name him Kai. I might not be a fantastic-named-after-the-gods name, but it suits him well in my eyes.
