HORRAY!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting so long!!! Every day I will try my best to add to this form.
I am sorry if it is too long
I guess I got a lil' carried away XDName: Naemia. Pronounced Nay-
e-mia
Why the Name?
Last night I sat awake, reading Inheritance (Yay!) and trying to come up with a suitable name for this beauty. I lay there all night... Lexi, no, too common. Selkie, lol no, too sea creature-esque. Hevra, nope-idy dope, just plain wrong. Tae, no, too simple. Laera, no, too much like Lyra from The Golden Compass.... Eventually I fell asleep, still my mind was completely blank, I just couldn't seem to find a suitable name!! I mean, sure, making art and a good story are important, but to me one of the most important part of an adoption form is having a unique and original name. In the morning I still had nothing. Throughout the day I tried out all different names, trying my best. I even got some of my friends to help me out. In French I considered a French name -.- Unfortunately, I kept on thinking of the real meaning of the words and how stupid it would be if someone were called "fly" or "love". I seriously considered using a name from another language, but decided that I wanted my girl to have a "special" name of my own creation.
I logged on this afternoon to see that, just as I had expected, the adoption had been opened while I slept and thousands (okay, maybe that's a minor exaggeration) of entries had come flooding in. I sighed and returned to the front page, goggling at the insane beauty. I copied that form and started typing. I glanced at the form and saw "name" in bold. Mindlessly, without thinking at all, I typed "Naemia" into the allotted space.
After all that, my instinct took over and I came up with a name that I feel fits her like a silken glove.
Why I want NaemiaThe first time I set my eyes on Naemia, I was stalking Lilian Nightshade. Yes, it's true, and I still stalk her today (love the new teenie Lilian X)). I had seen many stunning and beautifull designs come from Lilian Nightshade, but it was this one that stopped me in my tracks. Her multi-hued pelt was the first thing that captured my attention, I could literally imagine it shimmering softly in the sun. Next I saw her markings. White, swirled patterns that (as you all know) contrast beautifully with her pelt. The next thing I saw was the writing below. "Will be up for adoption after the W.o.I contest ends" it read. This made me think, a Warrior of Isket contest? Oh man! I missed it! I clicked the link and quickly read through the first post, seeing that the winners had already been announced. Hmm... I though, surely Lilian must have a reason for not opening this beauty for adoption. So I asked. Lilian promtly replied (or was it Runaway Wolf, I forget XD) and told me that the adoption would not open until Ajax and Foalan's adoption had closed and also that a contest winner may still choose her as a prize.
This tore me in two. Should I wait for the pups to be adopted out, though a winner may take her away before I can try for either. Or should I try for one of Foalan and Ajax's gorgeous pups, incase someone did choose Naemia. I decided to wait it out.
Every afternoon I came home from school and raced to the computer to check that no one had snatched her up while I was at school. Eventually, the pup adoption closed (congrats to the winners!) and this adoption opened while I slept.
Anyways, back to the point. As I said earlier, this design really speaks to me. I have quietly sat through many previous W.o.I adoptions, waiting patiently for the perfect one to come along. I knew that you could only ever own one Warrior (except for staff) so I knew I had to get it right. Where some people have tried many times previously for a Warrior, I have waited for Naemia. (
I am not saying this in a mean way, or trying to make the judges biased in any way, just saying why I want this Warrior in particular). I will not, however, lie and say that "this is the only one I could ever love." or that "I will never try for another Warrior again." Because, in truth, though I will always hold this girl close to my heart, if I do not win her ther is a chance that I will try again, if I find another.
If I win her I solemly swear that I will not let her go a mnth (rarely ven a fortnight) without new art. I know that Warriors of Isket can not be considered as fursonas, but to me, she will be like a second fursona to me.
I really hope I win her but, in the eventuality that I do not, I will gift all my art (including that I ordered) to the winner, as I strongly dislike people who aren't good sports.
PersonalityShy:Naemia generally keeps to herself. However she is not a loner and enjoys the company of select companions and friends. Though, Naemia is not an attention seeker. She would far rather lie alone and soak up the aurora of the Isket sun than race through a field with boisterous teenies. Naemia still loves company, just as long as it is not loud, disturbing, company. She loves to day dream about racing through the forest, feeling the wind in her fur and the hot breath of other warriors at her side as they all rush into battle. She is very comfortable around those she knows and can trust, especially her best friend Khantor. Naemia is just rather impartial to meeting new teen Warriors as they can often be too outgoing for her liking. She loves to relax and just lie in the sun, but will always do her duty when needed.
Dutifull:Naemia holds her leaders in high respect and always does her duty as a Warrior. Though she is not fully grown, she loves to help other Warriors, whether helping a mother laden with young Warriors or collecting prey for the Warriors, Naemia never backs down when she is needed. She has always dreamed of being a Warrior, doing her part to protect her pack. Naemia is rather a favourite as a babysitter as, where other teenies tire of boisterous young Warriors quickly, Naemia rather enjoys watching them playfight and will often join in herself.
Adventurous and brave:There is nothing Naemia likes better than adventure. Despite her shy nature, Naemia is very adventurous and often wanders off by herself, or with a trusted friend. Naemia is very brave, yet not so brave as to become completely self assured and she still has rational fears. Naemia tries her best to protect her pack and is the first to come running when a guard spots a wandering Kronador that could be a threat to the younger population of Warriors. Naemia loves wandering through the forest, however she will only invite certain comrades out with her. The forest is her favourite place to be as she loves gazing up into the woodland canopies which hang so high above her head. However, Naemia never lets her ventures collide with her duties as a teen Warrior and only wanders when she is certain she is not needed.
A collection of short stories:Winter's needled bedThere is little Naemia remembers from her troublesome arrival in Isket...
The feel of heavy Winter rain cascading onto her slimy pelt.
Pained groans echoing from beside her.
A crack of thunder and a flash of light.
Then the world turned black.
It was a stormy Winter night when Naemia found herself alone by the riverbed. Her tiny puppy maw opened wide in a desperate cry for warmth and, more importantly, milk. Her pathetic cries rendered soundless by the roars of thunder, little Naemia was alone in unforgiving Southern territory. Winter's deadly fingers grasped at her tender newborn flesh, freezing her blood-soaked pelt and pulling her within an inch of her life.
Eventually the rain ceased and the newly white storm clouds rolled to the West. Once the greasy light of Winter rain had given way to the weak light of the setting sun, Naemia saw the world for the first time.
Whereas most pups first open their eyes to a loving gaze and a warm, rasping tongue, all this tiny Warrior saw was blood. Splattered across the lush grass, the blood of her mother and siblings turned the once blue grass deep crimson.
A few meters away, a blood-soaked brown-gray body lay, slumped into a messy heap. Naemia's cries increased in volume as she tried to wriggle her tiny body towards the carcass.
Her desperate struggles were in vain.
Just before she reached the lifeless body, a burst of river water crumbled the edge where the tattered remains of the once-beautiful Warrior lay, pulling Naemia's dead mother deep into it's watery depths. It was then that Naemia's survival instincs took over and she huddled into the still-warm body of an unlucky sibling, her quacking shudders subsiding into occasional shivers.
Now that she was no longer hypothermic, her pathetic body screamed for milk. Butter Birds danced through the darkening sky above her, free and alive, completely oblivious to the greusome scene below. Naemia's glazed eyes rolled in her head as she whimpered, calling for tjings that none but a mother could provide.
The temprature dropped again as spits of rain began to fall. The Butter Birds flew off to the forests of the North, their silvery wings beating rapidly, leaving Naemia wishing with all of her tiny heart that she too could simply fly away from the terrors around her. But no silvery wings sprouted from her chubby shoulders and she snuggled closer to her dead sibling, whining of a loss too painful to bear.
Soon night's shadowy fingers began to claw their way through Isket, enveloping Naemia's surroundings in utter black. Her soft whimpers grew softer still and, somewhere deep inside, Naemia knew she had no chance of making it through the night alone.
The rushing waters that had laid claim to her mother appeared even more terrifying as darkness contorted the thrashing rapids into slashing, biting monsters. The minute Warrior whined in fear and desperatley wriggled away from the riverbed, the whoosing rain soaking her already-wet fur. The full moon bore down onto her, it's white-orange eye seeming to glare down at Naemia, making her squirm with discomfort. Her small body slowly grew weaker, colder, and Naemia curled herself into a tight ball, the life she barely glimpsed slowly fading before her.
It was then that they found her, three Central Warriors patrolling their borders before midnight, as was the custom. From across the riverbed they saw the ugly massacre that was the birth of Naemia. At first glance, the cruel finger of fate were all they saw as they gazed across from the opposite side of the river, their powerful heads drooping with sadness at the loss of such precious young lives, Southern or not.
"She must have tried to cross the border." one said as it gazed father downstream to where the tattered remains of Naemia's mother lay, caught in the branches of a dead tree.
"There is nothing we can do." another spoke up.
"Best to leave them for their own pack to bury properly." the first, a well-built male, agreed.
Just as they were about to turn back to heir duties, a barely audible squeak sounded from the other side of the river.
"Impossible!" mumbled the third, quickly hushed by the others as all three muscular bodies turned back to gaze across the river.
A moment later their patience was rewarded as another soft squeak was carried across the border.
"Quicly now." The first spoke up, instantly taking control of the situation as he saw his companions frozen with shock. "The river is too dangerous to swim. We will have to cross the fallen log further downstream, one at a time."
The other two Warriors nodded sharply, graciously accepting their new leaders authority. All three Warriors raced down the riverbank to where the rotting log lay, their powerful bodies lenghtening and contracting in perfect, trained unity.
As the Warriors ran to her rescue, Naemia's tiny body began to shudder convulsively as the spark inside her began to falter, death's greedy hands pulling at her viciously. Too weak to look across and see that help was close at hand, her young mind accepted that she was soon to pass into the black void of oblivion that was death.
Three lean bodies skidded to a halt at the edge of the dead tree, their chests almost collapsing as they panted heavily, trying to catch their breath. The third to speak, a lean but muscular young female, was the first to regain her strength and she struggled to spit out words.
"Test..... log.... heavy...... fall..." was all she managed to stammer, but the others must have understood because they nodded vigorously whilst panting. The young female padded up to the mangled tree, it's tattered branches swaying as the current pulled at it.
It looks unstable. She thought nervously, her worries confirmed as the trunk jolted, nearly knocking her into the water.
The brave young warrior gathered her nerves and cautiously stepped out onto the log, the Warriors behind her holding their breath as they watched her make her precaurious way along the trunk. Pushing past branches and moving both swiftly and carefully, the light female easily made her way across the log, flattening herself against the trunk when a gust of water threatened to throw her off halfway across. She calmly hopped off at the end of the log, instantly racing to where Naemia lay, about 500 meters upstream.
The second Warrior crossed swiftly and without trouble, racing off after the young female. Finally, the muscular young male stepped onto the fragile log, feeling it rock under his weight. Glad that he had not worn his aromour, he crawled along the log, carefully avoiding patches the others had warned him were weak.
Eventually all three Warriors were, once again, racing along the riverbank. Being faster than the others, the last to cross quickly caught up with the others, and they arrived at the gore-covered scene together. All three Warriors began sniffing the ground, grimacing from the heavy blood-smell as they seardched for a spark of life inamongst the death.
The young female had the sharpest nose and quickly found the crumpled up bundle that was Naemia.
"Over here." She choked out, tears streaming down her face as she realised that the tiny Warrior had ceased to breathe. Not giving up hope, she knelt down beside the pathetic blood-soaked body, licking her fur up the wrong way in a desperate attempt to warm her. The others watched, hope and desperation shining in their eyes as their companion tried to revive the minute Warrior.
They stood there for several minutes, shuffling nervously as the pups tiny form remained unmoving.
"Do you think..." One of them began to speak, quickly cutting off as the female whipped her head around, snarling viciously.
"I can do this." She spat at him, quickly turning back to the tiny bundle she cradled so gently.
With a cough and a soft whimper, Naemia struggled out of the void, whimpering at the massive creatures standing above her as she huddled closer to the warm underbelly of the female Warrior. All three Warriors gasped in surprise and eletion, breaking into happy sobs as the little Warrior tried to suckle from the females belly, whinging in annoyance as she came out with dry lips.
"You did it..." the strong male spoke, awe and gratitude shining through his eyes.
"I guess I did." replied the female, staring lovingly down at Naemia's chubby form.
After a long night and a tiresome fight against death, Naemia finally found her wings in the form of three strong Warriors.
Summer's gentle warmth Naemia sighed and raised her sun soaked brow to the sun, indulging in the simple pleasure if being alone. Her white markings shimmered like diamonds in the heavy Summer heat, stark and blinding in contrast to the deep blue of her back. The soft blue grass she lay on complimented the multiple blue shades of her long, silky pelt, making her appear even more dazzling. Naemia stretched out her long, lithe forelegs and slowly lowered her heavy lids over her minty blue and green eyes, preparing for a nice, cosy nap.
"Naemia!!" "Naemia, takes us down to the river" "please Naemia PLEEEEEEASE".
A chorus of squeaky voices assailed Naemia's ears and she opened her eyes, softly chuckling to herself. She shook her head slowly as she laughed, amused at the way trouble seemed to always come running straight at her when she wanted nothing more to avoid it. Naemia looked around at the frisky pups around her, playfully swatting one aside when it sank it's dewy fangs into her ear. She rose to her feet, feeling her long leg muscles twinge, stiff from lying still for so long. As Naemia shook the last comforting fingers of drowsiness from her pelt, a dazzling black and white female Warrior came trotting up, looking mildly agitated.
"I'm so sorry Naemia, you know how much the little ones adore you." She said softly, gazing lovingly at her boisterous pups, now locked in a fuzzy ball of limbs and poofy tails.
"Haha, that's alright Foalan, I don't mind. I would love to give you a break." Naemia replied, seeing how tired Foalan looked.
"Thank you Naemia, it really means a lot to me." Foalan replied, licking Naemia gently before turning and trotting back to the camp.
"You be good for Naemia.." Foalan called over her shoulder as she slowly loped away.
"Now, you little rascals." Naemia said, fondly staring down at the six dewy eyed pups as they gazed up at her with clear admiration. "You want to go down to the river??"
"Yes please!!" They all chorused sweetly, fidgeting with anticipation.
"Then you had better keep up!" Naemia said laughingly as she raced towards the river, restricting herself to not go so fast as to lose track of the pups. The six pups ran off after her, giggling and tumbling through the tall grass.
Naemia slowed her pace as the flowing blue-green river came into sight.
"Stay close!" Naemia called as she saw two of the pups race towards the river, skidding and running back to Naemia at her words of warining. Naemia smiled down at the obedient pups, she was glad they were so well-behaved, the river could be dangerous, especially in Summer. Once all the pups had gone back to playing, Naemia chose a shaded spot under a tall tree and lay down, carefully watching the boisterous puppies.
As she lay their, her mind began to wander back to the place where it often did when she was near a river, the night of her birth. She tried desperatley to shut out the horrible images, her torn mother, her dead siblings, and focused instead on the young Warriors as they played. The tiny pups had decorated themselves with what any other teen would see as leaves and grass. But Naemia looked deeper. To the pups, the strands of blue grass were long plates of armour as they fought amongst themselves, taking tuns to play the Kronador.
After half an hour or so of play- fighting amongst themselves, the young Warriors seemed to tire of each other and instead turned to the nearest available prey, Naemia.
Their bright eyes glittered happily as they saw their friend. Naemia was dressed in similar attire, having woven dead leaves from the tree she lay under whilst the pups played. She crouched low to the ground and growled playfully, waiting to see who would strike first.A brave young pup lept at Naemia, it's blue eyes glittering with glee as it squealed a battle cry. It chortled happily as Naemia allowed it to pin her to the ground, it's dewy teeth softly holding her ear.
Soon all the pups joined in and, before she knew what was happening, Naemia became a writhing mass of Warriors.
"Aaah! Mercy! Mercy!" she mock-cried as the pups softly kicked and bit her, their squeals of joy stopping abruptly as they rolled off her, breathless and giggling.
"We're sorry Naemia." They chorused, mischeif still shining in their eyes.
"Haha, that's all right you lil' raggamuffins." Naemia said lovingly as she rolled happily on her back, dislodging the leaves before taking her young charges home.
(I hope it is okay that I included Foalan and her and Ajax's pups in this story, please tell me if it isn't.)
The life of Spring (( Me and Hollowed have agreed to make Naemia and Khantor close friends should I get her. One of his few trusted friends in fact. ))
The Life of Spring
Naemia smiled to herself as she paced through the forest, lush with Spring's fresh growth.
The sun basked over her, woven strands of thick emerald grass tickling her muzzle. She marvelled at the way nature managed to create such beauty, and wondered why there were no Butter Birds flitting through the trees. As she walked through the tranquil forest, scattered light reflecting off her multi-hued pelt, Naemia let her mind drift.
"What are you thinking of Naemia?" A husky male voice asked. Glancing in the direction of the utterance she pricked her delicate ears, spotting Khan. The young male padded smoothly towards her, his muscles rippling under his sleek pelt.
"Oh! Hey Khan" Naemia said as she felt his warm pelt brushing up against hers. Naemia smiled happily. Khantor was one of her best friends and she really enjoyed his company, she was surprised that he wasn’t out training. But she was glad to see him all the same.
"I was just thinking about how much I love Spring." Naemia said, gazing up at the trees.
"Oh yeah?" Khantor asked playfully, mischief gleaming in his gaze. Naemia smiled impishly and gently shoved him with her shoulder blade.
"Race you to the gorge!" Naemia shouted as she took off to the North-West.
Khantor shook his head and grinned before taking off after her. The two young Warriors raced through the forest together, kicking up leaf litter that fluttered in the wind.
Khantor laughed as he ran, easily over taking Naemia after a couple of seconds as his thick muscles stretched to their limits, pushing him through the dense foliage. Naemia growled playfully as she saw Khantor sprint past her, her competitiveness taking over as she lengthened her stride in a desperate attempt to catch the speedy young Warrior. They ran through the faltering light of the forest, Khantor leading by a neck. Suddenly a burst of sunlight hit the warriors as they busted out of the vegetation, the hot Spring light momentarily blinding them. Naemia gasped in surprise and, unable to see, tumbled head over heels into Khantor. Khantor grunted in shock as Naemia landed on his chest, winding him.
"Sorry" Naemia giggled as she rolled off him, her long limbs awkwardly folding. Khantor stood up slowly, malice clear in his gaze. A growl rumbled deep in his throat, as he stood glaring straight at Naemia.
"Khan?" She asked nervously, her cerulean optics flickering with shock at his sudden ferocity. Khantor stalked towards her, lips curled back to display his gleaming white fangs. Just as Naemia was about to back away, Khantor leapt over her, snarling viciously.
Naemia gasped in horror as she whipped around to see her comrade wrestling fiercely with a Kronador.
With little time to absorb current happenings, Naemia leapt straight into the fight, incisors bared and claws extended. The gruesome beast roared and swiped at Naemia, it's enormous curved paw tearing through her flank.
Khantor snarled with rage as he leapt at the brute, grabbing its left hind leg in his maw and shaking his head, tearing into the aquamarine flesh. A satisfying snap sounded and the creature shrieked in pain, whipping round to face Khantor. He snarled viciously, the beast's blood dripping ruby red from his maw.
Before the animal had time to throw it's hulking mass at Khantor, he ducked under it's massive head, tearing it's saggy throat from beneath as he slid under it. The creature roared in pain, blood gushing vigorously from it's throat as it dropped to the ground, a wet slapping sound echoing through the hills as it's giant form fell to the ground.
Dead.
Khantor immediately turned to Naemia. His eyes which had but a few moments earlier been narrowed into slits, had now softened into an expression of alarm and concern.
Without even considering his own wounds, he folded onto the ground by her side and desperately began to lick at the three long gashes, gorged just above her underbelly. As he cleaned her wounds, Khantor began to murmur. "Please Naemia, please be okay. Please!" He said sorrowfully.
He sat there for what seemed like hours, until finally, Naemia's eyes began to flutter and she weakly lifted her head.
"Khan?" She mumbled softly. "Shh Naemia, it's alright." He whispered, gently pushing her head back to the ground.
Naemia's minty eyes darted around, widening in surprise as she spotted the blood stained carcass lying behind Khantor.
"We got 'em Khan." She muttered, smiling weakly.
The sepia warrior blinked, glancing down at the fae in surprise at her words. Features lightening he grinned, licking her forehead tenderly.
"Yeah Naemia… we got him."
Trouble will always find youNaemia raced through the glistening blue grass, not looking back once. She lengthened her stride in a desperate race against fate. The Spring rain pelted onto her fur, making it heavy and dense, but Naemia barely noticed, she had only one thing on her mind: Escape!
As Naemia fled from the terrors that followed close behind, a strange thought occurred to her. Now, as she was most certainly about to come to a gruesome end, she felt more free than ever before. Before Naemia had time to deeply consider the prospect of her fearlessness, a comforting shadow loomed above her. 'The forest!' Naemia thought; hope renewing her strength as she darted into the shadowy recesses of the massive trees.
Sure that she had gained some ground between her and the malicious creatures she ran from, Naemia dipped under a fruitful bush and hid. She crouched low to the ground, panting heavily, her powerful legs weary and shaking. A distinct crunch in the leaf litter near her made Naemia's heart race, and she trembled as her frantically swishing ears desperately tried to pinpoint the sound.
*Crunch...*. 'There!' Naemia thought to herself, estimating the sound to have come from approximately 50 meters away. Naemia slowed her heavy breathing and locked her legs in place; any small movement would betray her location. The gentle spring breeze rustled the dense undergrowth and her thick pelt was dripping with rain. Naemia shivered with cold, her jaws locked shut to prevent her teeth from chattering. Another crunch reverberated in Naemia's ear drums and she began to growl softly.
Naemia slowly began to tense her powerful hind legs and smiled devilishly as she waited to spring her trap.
She stayed there for some time, listening to the quiet noises of the death-bringing creature as it continued it's search. When she was sure that no more than three meters lay between her and the creature, Naemia exploded from the bush, a terrifying war cry tumbling out from between her bared fangs.
The massive male Kronador screamed in surprise as Naemia landed perfectly on it's back, digging in her sharp claws to keep a firm grip. "Don't even think about it." She whispered as the massive scaly beast reared up in an attempt to shake her off.
The Kronador hissed as it landed back on it's feet, pausing for just long enough to allow Naemia time to strike. She threw her head onto the Kronador's neck and bit down, HARD. The creature shrieked and twisted it's head around as it stumbled into a tree. It's massive jaws snapped a bare millimeter away from Naemia's face, hot breath waging onto her. Naemia held on tight with her jaws, pulling up her strong hind legs and raking them across the beast, its tough skin breaking beneath her claws. But the Kronador would not give up. It shook out its thick light blue mane and lashed its long tail, the spike on the end making a snapping sound as it whipped through the air. Naemia growled through her teeth and bit down harder, feeling its thick neck muscles tear satisfyingly. The beast roared and threw its entire weight onto the ground, stunning Naemia. Her jaws slid off it's neck and her body went limp. The Kronador hissed with pleasure as it reared up to give the killing blow. Its claws whistled through the air as it fell down onto her...
A bare second before its ice cold claws pierced her skin, Naemia sprang up with all her force into its exposed belly, her claws raking through it's soft innards like butter. Naemia gasped in surprise as the Kronador fell on top of her and she was completely covered by it. She grunted and squirmed out from under it, racing a hundred or so meters away until she turned to check if it was dead.
The once deadly beast lay on its side, thick blue blood oozing from it's neck and belly. Shocked and exhausted, Naemia flopped down to the ground and let her heavy eyelids fall shut.
As she sank into a deep oblivion, Naemia's last though was:

Armour Concepts (by me):
I used TheWolfsGirl90's lines
WIPAs I have said before, one of the reasons I want this W.o.I is because of how unique she is. So, I tried to make her armour unique, getting my inspiration from both a ring I own and the chain mail of ancient warriors I really hope you like it!!!!
Say 3 things about the WoI Species:
- Only Alphas, sub-ordinate leaders and custom Warriors may breed and have pups.
- There is no Autumn (or Fall) in Isket, only Summer, Winter and Spring.
- The Warriors main enemies are the Kronadors, massive, reptile-equine-like creatures with huge fangs and maws designed for tearing flesh. It takes only one fully grown Warrior to take down a Kronador, but can take up to three teenies or young'ins.
P.S I read the entire W.o.I thread and just chose a few points that interested me
