story;;
The massive ship rocked lazily, with white foamy waves crashing into it absentmindly. Caspian's eyes followed each wave, one by one, as they disintegrate into the ocean waters once more. The cool breeze wafted a smell of sea salt, roses, and the magnificent world down below. A dolphin sprung into the air into a somersault, and quickly plummeted with a splash. A couple of miles away was land; back home.
"Cas, it's time to get ready, we are almost here," A sweet voice called. Caspian turned around, at a female a little less than his height, beautiful, with lucid pink eyes. She was wearing her casual getup, her lime green shorts, teal bikini top, her lime green sunglasses, and a bun of ocean-like hair. She handed him his bag and walked away, back into the cabin. Caspian held it in his hands and looked over the railing again, studying the waves.
Three hours passed, and it was almost sundown. Caspain gritted his teeth, his mind racing with astract thoughts. Voices called at a distance and the city looked like thousands of fireflies in a lawn, with little children running and chasing them with jars in hand. He thought about the time when Summer jumped into a river back in Venice, her head bobbing in the water, laughing. He thought about little Cato, causing trouble near the dessert stand, eating chocolate in a corner as if no one was looking. Unaware, Cas smiled idiotically.
Then Caspian felt something. There wasn't something right; it was in his blood, an instinct. He turned around and ran up the stairs quickly, knocking at the cabin door. He looked around anxiously, but it was strangely quiet. No yelling of orders, no one on deck, nothing.
The door opened, and there was Summer, rocking Cato to sleep. "What is it?" She asked, nervously. She got up slowly, grabbing her purse.
"I think... the ship is going down. There is no one anywhere, it's just us left. I don't even think the captain is here too," He answered quickly, trying to keep his cool. He turned around and looked over the rail: no life boat. He gritted his teeth, thinking of a way to get to land, which was half a mile away.
They had to swim.
"Summer, there's no lifeboat, we are going to have to swim," he said reluctantly, watching at Summer's response; grabbing her surfboard and handing it along with Cato. "You two sit on this, I'll push you both," she said, putting her hair up. The ship started teetering.
"No, no, I'll do it," Caspian said, and Summer nodded. When they quickly took their things and went to the railing, the ship's deck was filling with water. Muttering under his breath, Caspian gently put the surfboard on the water, and Summer holding Cato, jumped on it. Caspian carefully went into the water and pushed them tirelessly for an hour.
Caspian knew one thing: He was never going to go on a ship again. (500 exactly)
