Sea Spray heard the tales of a legendary thief and wanted to try his hand at creating a trap for them, so he gathered some shiny sea shells, rope, and crafted a net that would spring upwards. He spent the whole morning setting it up. Finally, when he had finished, there was a generous heap of seashells in the middle of the mostly hidden net, and some leftover rope. He left the rope there, hanging on one of the branches on a nearby tree, intending to use it later with his trap if he needed to.

Perry was nearby and saw Sea finish setting up his trap. They giggled, since this small, clearly inexperienced cat forgot that the most amazing thief ever can fly. They waited for a moment until Sea was far enough away, and dove straight down to the shells. In one fell swoop, they picked up only half of the shell pile, just in case the net would trigger anyways.

As Perry was stuffing the shells into their bag, they suddenly met the hanging rope that they had not seen. It caught on their front paws and left wing, sending them careening left and down: right into a hole in between the rocks near the shore. The fall was enough to tangle the string around their other paws as well, leaving them in a tangled mess. A rogue wave then crashed nearby, splashing Perry only slightly, but it was enough to frighten and stun them, due to their fear of drowning.

Sea Spray heard the commotion and went back to his trap. He followed the scattered path of shells to the hole in the rocks, pleasantly startled to see a tangled, orange ball of yarn. "Now what's a thief like you doing in a place like that?"
