Name meaning: Her name is a play on words regarding "The Great Emu War of Australia" in 1932 when the emu population began encroaching on farmland and destroying crops. The whole "war" lasted a little over 1 month since the birds were hardy and quick to escape capture or otherwise. In the end, the emus reigned victorious over their homeland and the farmers were left to deal with the aftermath. It's stated that the farmers asked for military & government assistance with the emu population 3 more times over the years and were denied each time.
This was really hard to pick but the Great Emu War takes the cake!
