something they love: esme loves the little hidden pond at her birth town, the one just past the quaint yellow cottage that her parents used to own, a few rock throws past the old wooden pasture fence. it’s surrounded by pine trees for privacy, but once you shimmy past those, a small clearing opens up to reveal a crystal clear pond littered with petals from the delicate cherry blossom tree beside it. she could float in that pond, looking up at the sky and chasing fluffy clouds through half-closed eyes, for days and days.
