This "Warden" is Theodore. He can be found at all hours of the day inspecting the library. Theodore takes a close eye to shelves for mold, books for worms, and aisles for thieves. The glasses help amplify light and magic, they act as his searchlights. In the night, all manner of creatures come out of hiding and he can pin them in their place with just one look.

With one simple glance he is able to see how a person meets their end…and how much time they have left. It was an ability he never became accustomed to, making him far too scared to make connections in the living realm knowing that those closest to him may meet their end far sooner than any of them expected them to. The introduction of glasses that purposely skew his vision and distort his powers brought peace to him. It brings comfort to his mind and lowering himself to a place of simple mortality just the same as the others. The known unknown makes him feel more confident to live his life out just as the others do without fear, hesitation, or boundaries.

Thus, he has vowed to never take them off.

When he placed them on the bridge of his nose, he still saw nothing, but they gave him an odd sense of comfort, like a warm blanket wrapped around him, making him feel more confident. When his friend asked him if they helped, he said yes, but only in the sense that they made him feel better. He hasn't taken them off since, choosing to view them as an accessory similar to a necklace, rather than a piece of "medical" equipment.
