When I first joined the WME community in 2013, it was the first real online community I had ever been a part of and it was so amazing and inclusive! My first equid, Horus, has stayed with me ever since (along with the several other equids I acquired after that) and has been the pinnacle of my adoptable characters as well as a comforting reminder of that community from before. I’m still friends with folks I met when WME came together back then, and it absolutely made my morning when I saw this WME pop up in the oekaki forums. I’m excited to see what WME can blossom into again and to share the love of equids with the community again, old and new!

I used to see these on cs as a kid, unfortunately I was never able to win one but I always thought their stripes were super cool!! They're also just so unique, their back manes and tail shape let me know right away when I was looking at a WME amidst all the other horse species on here :3
I was so excited to see these on here again and I know they're nostalgic for so many people, me included, so my absolute fav part has got to be seeing the community coming back together <333

The quipping was always my favourite when I saw them for the first time in middle school.
I never managed to get my hands on one but fantasized about the ideal WME all the time and the kinds of stripes I loved most.
Fancy marking equines are more common now but back in the day it was revolutionary to me and still has a special space in my heart! <3

WMEs were my childhood. I remember seeing them in grade school and becoming obsessed! Yet I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did if it wasn't for the fabulous community. I made so many friends during a time in my life where I was bullied at school. I loved joining art streams, creating fun background stories with others, and getting into some shenanigans we all did. I have such fond memories of those times but can wait to make new ones and reconnect with everyone who returns.

I have an absolute soft spot for the elongated ears on WME. I just think about how sweet and floppy they are when they're in a particularly lazy mood walking around. The cutest thing is how big they'd be on foals much like a donkey/mule baby. Big ears on any animal just makes my heart swell.
